Took another bout of Walmart today

Walmart was not that bad today when I went in at 915 am.   I had to pick up cat food dog food and litter for the cat.   The bird was fine for food and scratch paper.  The dog and cat on the other hand not so appealing with what was left.  So I did pick up for the dog and cat.  I have enough food here also for myself.  To bad I do not have to pull from the freezers at this point again.  And still saying I am the luckiest gal out there.  Now I say that with a few reasons out there of course.  That means I am not trash and I am sober to where I can still run my own household Unlike what some folks say out there.  Let them deal with snow and driveinging.  I will walk tomarrow if and when I want something.  First snow fall out of the year over night here in the Buffalo area guess what I will stay home.  The poor drivers out there with the 18 wheelers I feel sorry for them folks now.  Other than that the house work is mainly done I get quicker without the Hippy here as normal.  Well the one bedroom is freezing as normal with the vent blocked up.  And HEAP up here has raised thier rates up here in NY State.  I still don't apply only becuase I have way to much pulled back as normal.  This is what I get for being frugal/cheap eather way.  Pluss I do not plan on being here in the can forever at all.  Now to just keep the bills down around here and then some I should be ok. 

Morning has already started

Well I was bounced out of bed this morning with sleet hitting my window.  And the 4 letter dirty word will be here very soon (snow).  At least most of the housework is caught up around here.  I have alot to do today eather way and I need to get most of it done and that is not working so far.  Pluss up to the bank on top of it today.  The dreaded dirty mail here hit my place once again.  Well at least It won't be bad again this month.  I have been cutting alot of the power out during the day.  I really do not mind it at all.  Once you get use to not haveing everything going when the kids are gone it is a good thing.  With everything going on today I maybe just compleatly drained by tonight.  Oh well it is Monday once again.  Needing to get to the bank on Monday's it is ok becuase I can kinda kick back untill about 930 am in the mornings after I get back.  The really wierd thing is that I will get very cheap today and run with it all at this point.  I need to get to the bathroom sometime today.  That is the only bad part for the day.  Oh well have fun and play even harder today.

So many folks down with the flu

I noticed alot of people are down with the flu this year.  Start listining to mom and wash your hands when you walk in the door and a few other spots also.  That is how you cut down on the colds and flu bugs that are out there.  I noticed with myself that when I wash my hands more I don't get sick as often also.  And several are going thru cancer also now.  This has got to stop at this point.  I know there is a cure for cancer out there the Specialest's have got to get up off thier asses and put the drugs out there.  Well 3 deaths from cancer is a little much for one family to go thru in a years time.  I can not complain to much with 9 deaths in one year when the Hippies sister passed on.  The last time I was in the St. Louis area is about when it all stoped.  Yes there are alot of hard feelings that are left over in what went on and all I can say is I hope I am a better grandparent after the way I was treated by some of the family members that I have.  Once I got old enough I started to voice my opinions and the poor woman who raised me knew She diden't raise no fool with me.  Alot of my Cousins I just love dearly and nobody can take that away.  I am built like all sides of the families that I have.  I think I got all the left overs(laughing).  And alot of good teachers on how to be totally cheap and frugal all at the same time.  With 2 of the families that are in huge numbers of course and lots of cousins.  Well at least I love my red heads of course.  My hair has got darker with age and maybe it is the genetics that I have and that is ok.  So I will not complain at all.  Anyway I can now sit back all week and be alone now and go without the T.V. and a few other things during the week.  Sometimes it is nice to have alot of time alone here.  I can get more done alone thru the week than most can even bother in a month's time.  Well Olliver is hollering again when the T.V. goes to the parental controle mode.  Note to self beat the child who did this to the T.V.  I won't go that far except slam the door in her face at this point unless Liberty-Ann really adjatates me.  Liberty-Ann does have a last name which it is not Mercer at this point since all of the family has droped her on the curb in how she treated my Sister- in-Law.  To beat a woman who is dieing of Cancer is sick.  That is what this child did to the woman who raised her as her own.  Now I never ever hate anyone at all.  I do not even Hate my ex husband.  Liberty-Ann got the Hatered from me.  Becuase more than 3 folks told me about the girl beating a sick dieing woman.  That is what alot of people diden't know that I was going thru in the past 4 years almost.  That is why I am againsted "Doc's" bad attatude against me for sticking up for myself and getting my backbone back.  He was acting worse than a spoiled rotten teenager of todays world.  Alot of men I do know I just do not trust at all still at this point of time.  I still don't trust the Hippy and I have known him for over 16 years at this point.  First of all I do not put up with much from a man at all and refuse to.  If a man doesen't like it oh well you have to totally earn my trust.  I can still smell a woman beater from miles away and I have been away from the ex for almost 20 years at this point.  ANd once I moved to NY State I trus nobody at all hardly.  A very good friend will tell you I still do not trust her Husband all the way after 6 years.  He hasen't done squat to me at all and I trust him with children all togeather.  It is how I am.  And will be.  I know that my Hippy means well at all times.  He asked earlier if I wanted food when he ate and I said no I will eat later on.  I am still not really hungery at all but will eat here shortly.  One of the perks of being alone is that I eat when I want to eat.  Some folks complain about it but I can say I keep my own scedual up eather way.  After this long why bother to change now.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Well football today also

As normal I have football on today.  And I don't have to make food also at all today.  That is the bad part of it all with the big meal I made on Thursday.  And to bad that nobody shown up to my place for turkey the other day.  Now in what is left will get ate of course.  Between sandwiches and salads.  Maybe that is what I needed was for nobody to show up and go from there.  Now to get the Hippy off and running here today then I will start cleaning the can up from this weekend of course.  I really don't mind it to much and I will be hitting the bank tomarrow anyway.  Mondays have been bad for years around here becuase, I am so busy.  It just turns out to be that way.  It has been like that on and off for years now.  So I wont do hardly anything untill I get home at 915am.  Then I will start with the housework as normal.  It is not that bad for this past weekend at all normally I have a pile of dishes becuase I take 2 days off but not this time.  Well I will say by Breaking 2 glass pans diden't help on thursday night niether.  Ok breaking is not the word Shattered is more like it.  Pyrex and Anchor Hockering.  So I am telling you now if you have carpet in the kitchen glass pick up for the next 6 months.  I have to laugh becuase it is so true.  I seen what concreate and carpet does to glass wear.  Now I have partical board and carpet.  All I can say is I must have hit one of the metal runners in the floor.  So needless to say is I was vacumeing the carpet in the kitchen right before dinner started.  Well it woulden't be right for a holliday if I diden't break something or a screaming match went on or the fist fight goes on in my place.  This time I got mad after only becuase the 2 pans that shattared were just right for the convection oven that I have.  I have a Command Preformance convection oven.  I love it let me tell you.  I can fit 2 loaves of bread and a 12 cup muffin tin in it all at the same time.  Pluss the other day I had the burner going for the first time since I bought the thing.  Now if I have a problem with the gas lines like I did the second winter I was up here at least I can still cook and I have space heaters to go on this time around to keep warm with.  Well I had a whole as big as both of my thumbs in the Iron Pipeing leading up to the trailer.  Since I rent the lot it is on the landloard to fix.  That is one of the nice things about owning the can and renting the lot.  Once it is under the trailer it is my problem if it is from the meeter to the hook up is the parks problem and the meeter is well you guessed it who evers utility company's it is problem.  Well that is how it is for Illinois and here in NY.  So it is a big saveings once you think about it all.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Now I am really counting

I have been counting my blessings all day.  I have been going cheaper slowly this year so far and adding new things weekly.  Now to be out of the chat room where I don't have to wade thru the muck and the B.S. Pluss not haveing an ungreatfull child that wasent even related to none of us.  I am doing pretty good now.  I diden't have to go all the way cheap all at once 3 years ago becuase of some rotten child.  Well at least I still have my sanity left and my wits that I so much depend on.  I kind of lost myself for about 2 years and started snapping out of the slup this past Febuary.  Now it is like I have a new lease on life to do what I can to go even cheaper than what I am now for next year.  Maybe writeing things down has helped out also for myself.  Some times you just get so sick of some folks saying what you can and can't do becuase they want the controle factor over someone.  I noticed that after I started snapping out of the slump I got my Backbone Back where it belongs and got mouthy once again and the toush to back up the mouth again.  One thing I will say is I really never laid down and took the beating niether from some folks. I have had to let some things go still and that is ok.  Now I can do more without being just totally being cut down for what I do.  Some folks do not like it when I do tell the truth on other folks.  I got myself back after watching and thinking also about what was going on and down with some people.   I may not bring in a ton of money and that is what keeps me going to see if I can do something cheaper in life.  When some people start saying to me why don't you just give in and stop while you are ahead of the game that is not how I operate at all in my life.  I will tell you in how it is at times and for some 15yro to try to run me it is not gonna happen at all(15 3years ago).  Now the Truth about Liberty-Anns life came out and it broke her in half.  I haven't heard from her since Febuary of this year and like it.  I went very cheap after that also.  It has got to the point of I have streached out alot here in the place and can streach even more out now since I am alone for most of the time anyway.  I can also laugh about my place has it good since I do cook and clean without help.  There are times that I can pick up and go without worries also and go take a walk to let off steem from the day.  Or to think of what else I can try to do to be cheaper in the can.

Over the last couple of years

I have found out over the years that some folks like thier toushes kissed.  Well most people come to the wrong person here for me to kiss anyone's toush to make it in the world.  I can care less on how much or less money others bring into the household.  Maybe that is why I have torn down some folks that need the reality check in thier lives.  I have always been out spoken eather way and if you dont like what I say tough.  I have been brought up to tell the Truth eather way.  Pluss make home repairs and go within your budget in life.  There are times when I am very Blunt in life and I know alot of folks do not like the bluntness that comes out of my mouth.  With some folks they would rather fallow than be a leader in life and that is fine.  When I can sit here and say ok now what can I do to save money today and go from there I will do what I have to to keep the bills down and streach out everything that I have.  I also save for what I want also.  By the time I get to it I may not want it anymore also.  So when the supposad upper classes try to tear me down I give it to them with both barrels and 20 gaskets if I am totally in the right.  Sometimes folks want total controle over others and don't care if it is wrong in what they are doing.  And yes I have told alot of people to shove it over the past couple of months only becuase I was just tired of the crud that I was seeing.  And yes I did get somewhat nasty about it and some folks can't understand when I say who you think of who your friends are and find out differantly gee.  Now for the one chat room I was going into on the net the room holder dident want you to serf the net and whom ever was bounced out of the room you coulden't talk to the person anymore also.  I just can't stand the fact of the Rich keeps getting Richer and the working folks make the real world go around still.  Well at this point if the 18 wheelers go on strike in the US it would be a total disaster with in 7 days and would take a year if not longer to recover from it all.  So some have to think before they say something to some of us.  Not only that if I want to streach out my dollar and share that with folks that is on me.  Not everything is going to work for everyone.  I will admit to it that there are some things I refuse to do.  Then there are other things that I am willing to try out to see if they all work.  Now if you want to tear me down for that go for it.  If and when I see a diffrance in something that I do I will let folks know this is what is working for me it may work for you also.  Alot of the time I march to my own drum beat around here.  I have done this for years.  I have survived for this long doing it may as well keep it up.  I have been thru way to much in order not to be cheap or frugal in todays world.  I learned long ago that I have to watch for my own alot of times becuase I do not have help like some folks do.  So I had to learn quick on what will work for me and my own household.  And I wish I had someone helping me and guiding me at times to give out pointers and tips on how to do things.  Maybe that is one of the reasons that I started the blog also to lend out tips and tricks that have helped me along in the past almost 20 years here. 

Got to thinking this morning already

Now I got to thinking as I normally do when the place is quiet in the morning.  Why did I become cheap/frugal in my life?  Some of it I was taught from an early age.  And I save money for what I want and alot of it is for the can.  Even though I do have a Kitchen wood burner fund started.  That is for when I get a "Real" house.  There are some things that I needed for the can that I coulden't pass up the price for niether.  I will shop around untill the price is right and wait also for it.  I have a note book with paper with the outwheighing of do I need something or can it wait.  And the is it really worth getting it along with will it help me in the long run.  When I deside on it I have saved up and it ends up on sale when I do get something that is a big ticket item.  This is why I shop at the middle of the month for most areas becuase the sales are much better.  Just like the end of the month alot of the appliances go on sale and at the end of the year also.  Depending on what you are looking for.  I can really laugh sometimes becuase I have got most of the pots and pans along with major appliances for alot less than what others paid for them thru the year.  Just like with the bargin racks at the end of the season for items that just need to go away.  Pants tops shirts you name it, it will go on sale.  Like 3 dollars for a pair of mens Jeans at places like Walmart.  The Hippy loves it when I do stuff like that.  Now most of the stuff that is here I can live without also.  It is one of them things that I have done it before and can do it again.  For the new year I plan on doing more that is cheap/frugal also.  I have been working on it thru this year and sticking to it and I will get even more done for the next year.  I have been useing alot of rags here in the place instead of paper towles.  I have to do laundery anyway so I may as well save money on the paper towels that I don't need.  Now I took paper plates out of the can years ago along with the paper napkins also.  I have saved over 500 dollars by doing that so far.  And I will keep doing without the paper plates also.  It is funny in how things work out when you fight the need for something and find out you don't need it anyway.  Now I do have plastic plates for the can for when children come over.  Anyway there are going to be alot of changes this up coming year for me going very cheap/frugal for the place.  Granted there's so much that one person can do but it is well worth doing.  Like makeing more things from scratch and for less than what my neighbors do also.  That is what gets alot of folks I think is that I know what I have and work with it all.  I do shop all over the place also.  And I will go for the deals more often this up coming year.  In the city of Niagara Falls there are Dollar stores all over the place.  Along with other stores.  It depends on where I am at and what I need also.  I had to laugh yesterday afternoon becuase I was one of the younger folks in the Dollar Tree store.  And the bill was under 15 dollars by the time I walked out.  There is alot that I can pick up from there like Bleach and other things for the truck.  I look at it like this if the one store has bleach for a dollar I am picking it up.  Prices range from a dollar on up for the Bleach.  And alot of stuff like towles and socks can be ran thru a bleach load.  Ok folk have fun and play even harder today.

Now I may be wrong

Well after not calling the electrition and his wife back on thursday I don't wander why now.  All I can do is shake my head and go on from now on.  Here I thought I got to the gal and apparently I diden't.  Here I am liveing below the means of the good ole paycheck here and streaching out every dollar that came into the can.  So I could and can afford a better place than where I am at now.  Now I have had the gas going since I have been here for about 15 yrs now never had it shut off at anytime nor the power at my place.  The problem is between the both of the people they went hunting instead of going to work to catch up on any of the bills.  Last I knew that they both had gas bills over 2 grand and they couldent get the gas turned on again untill both bills were paid.  Of course here in NY it has been somewhat cold outside.  About 32 outside.  Sorry I have animals and my own health reasons of why I need the heat in the can.  Pluss I refuse to get a wood burner here also for the can it takes 7min for a can to totally burn down.  On top of it I do not have enough money saved up for the wood burner yet.  Yes I have done alot of shopping in the past couple 3 days now and most of what I got was on BIG SALE as I call it.  And leaveing everything off during the day also has helped on the power bill.  I have always kept up with the bills also and went without eating at times so I could pay bills here in the can.  I just don't get in how some people can just blow off work and go "Hunting" instead of working.  And after what was pulled with me the last time I am totally backing off and I don't need to be cut down at the ankles for trying to be cheap anymore by someone that spends money like water then blameing me for it.  When someone stands in my kitchen and tells me he makes more in a month than I will see in a life time I was done right then and there.  And I pretty much knew that his gas bill at the time was over 4 grand at that point.  All I could do was shake my head at the time and after that he lost my respect out of life. 

What leftovers can do

Now the turkey, green been casserole, a can of corn pluss leftover mashed taters all into one bowl.  I think I have the food networks folks beat to a pulp around here.  And there is another 5 lbs of bird to eat after sandwiches and what I did in leftovers tonight.  Well after folks that I invited over and not calling me when they should have I am not surprized that I have a lot of the bird left over. So I will utilize in what I cooked and I think I can bungie cord leftovers to the truck also.  Do not under gestamate me at all at this moment.  Well I still have tortellas left in the fridge for wraps and a few other things for leftover turkey here in the can.  I think that is what erks some folks today about me is if I have leftovers I will use them up to the fullest.  I missed the turkey bones for soup stock when the Hippy is out of here.  Turkey and split pea soup is what I am really craveing at the moment.  Even the emergin blinder can help in that matter around here without tearing up the pots and pans.  And a quick meal during the week of course.  The 30 min meals are a crock of crud in my book.  It takes at least a good couple of hours for dinner to be served in my place comeing from scratch.  Even with leftovers here takes a bit for chopping diceing and mixing.  I cook in how I see fit and turkey all year round will not work in my household at all.  So now I mix it all up with chicken, ground burger, and pork thru the month and the turkey on about 3 months of course.  Mix alot of it up it won't hurt the family at all now adays.  The stake and fish recipies went out the window along time ago with me.  I still cook from scratch alot around here and thursday was no exception to it.  Between the bread and a few other things here in the can.  Ok I got 2 pie crusts.  It is one of the rare treats I do get around here.  It does take longer to cook granted and it is so well worth it all togeather for my place.  I look at people and say boxed what.  That is the running joke for my place now.  There are so many alergies to food out there today that I am surprized that more folks haven't tried cooking from scratch like our parents did and our grandparents out there.  So try it some day and it does get easier the more you do it also.

What a mess at the one corner

The Hippy and I went out today and what a mess for traffic at the junction of 62 and the 190 right down the street.  Looking at the auction houses that are for the city of Niagara Falls.  Now I do not want the inner city at all.  But the crazy lady will prevail out of myself anywhere I go.  I just can't stand where I am now it is way to small to do anything.  I have become creative on the storage thing thru the years I will admit to that much.  And more outlets for the kitchen of course.  Now yesterday morning while the Hippy and I were at Target he picked up another ice cream maker hopeing it would majicly appear as another mixing bowl for the Kitchenaid that I have.  The ice cream maker works wanders for my place during the hot days of summer I  will admit to it.  The poor stand mixer started hollering back at me kinda well it dident stop for about 24 hrs almost with me cooking and bakeing.  Now if Kitchenaid made a bread maker I would be in heaven.  I have had the stand mixer from Kitchenaid for a year and a day now and the appliance has pulled thru more times than the hand mixers that I have had over the years.  I will say it is one of the best appliances that I have bought other than the Convection oven during the hollidays.  With the Quaker Parrot I have to watch the pots and pans now in what I use.  And the ones that I have left I can't over heat at all becuase the tefflon affects Olliver.  It just tears me up when he goes into a seasure.  And yes he had 2 today not as bad as they have been though.  It is wierd becuase Olliver is my cooking buddy with everything and the vac buddy.  Along with the 2 mouches out of the kitchen of course the dog and cat.  I have never seen a dog and a cat go at it over a piece of cheese cake untill the hollidays when I do make cheese cake or dental sergery.  I will take the philly cheese cake filling and eat it like that after teeth pulled so a BIG THANKS to the Kraft company the last go around.  So the 2 lbs of taters and what goes into it was enough for the dinner and leftovers the mixer did help and enough room for a bit more.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder the auction isent untill December 15 and I will be there with bells on.

Lagging behind again

Well I got as much done yesterday as I could in the kitchen and laudery area.  Why I don't spray the bottom of the pan for the bird is my brain fart.  So now I get alot of turkey sandwiches thanks to some folks not calling me back about where they were going for bird day.  Never again will that couple be invited over for anything at my place at all.  Now with yesterday with the sales going down I did pick up alot of stuff and the couple that diden't call me the guy thinks it's discussting that I pick up more on sale and being sinceable about money.  I picked up 4 pairs of jeans on sale compaired to his one that wasen't on sale.  Pluss several other things while I was at it all.  Well I diden't realize that Target was giveing out 10 dollar gift cards for every 100 dollars that you spent yesterday niether.  So between that and the coupons also I should be ok over there also.  Now I can really laugh about this later on becuase I of course got a couple more pans while I was at it over at Target.  Well I diden't have a regular skillet at all anymore becuase I broke most of mine or they fell apart on me.  So if you can supply your kitchen with good cookwear it is even better on you thru the years becuase you do not have to replace them every 6 months to a year.  That is why I do not mind to be cut down from some folks out there at all.  The ones that cut you down for trying to lessen the bills in your place just don't care what they do and blow money left and right.  Then they can't pay thier bills and wander why they get stuff shut off and repoed.  Well it has been a mess with some folks that I know becuase the other half can not fallow a budget to save himself at all.  That is why he likes to cut people down and I was done with it along time ago.  Granted some folks do not like Aldi food and alot of it is the same food as the brand name of it.  I shop at Aldi and the electrition dident mind eating over here at all. When he was coming over here.  And after a while I just gave up becuase I could.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Well staying home

Now tonight I figured to stay home and watch buff babies and make leftovers for tonight.  A couple came out to see myself and the Hippy tonight.  And that is fine becuase I wanted to get my addresses right for a place for an auction coming up.  At least with some I can depend on them all the way.  Well after makeing more than the electrition makes in a month along with his wife there's 4 of us that make ends meet with less money for months than both of them had for years over all of us and the electritions wife asking how we all did it.  Sounds like a millionare that I know at this point also.  I can say is a strict budget and never wavering from it also helps in not going totally bankrupt thru the month.  And some of us still are broke on a fixed income.  Now some folks have laughed at me for saveing nickles like Buddy "Doc" Howard.  And that is fine by me and he called me a few other names also becuase I was right on some things in his life.  And another person that he is/was doing.  What is Doc and his fallowing gonna do to me for telling the TRUTH on all of them not much more after that.  You ask me and I will forward the email from the million dollar baby on what was said from who.  I am sorry I have no use in breaking into someone elses computer unless you hit the right price with me and I will still turn you down.  Some of us do things the legal way still unlike some that we all know in life.  I quit doing hair becuase I knew that computer work paid me way more in life in what I know.  So please blame me for it if you have to.  I am cheap and will be.  I shop with sales and coupons and go for the best deal out there in life. 

Went back out somewhat

I got out to Collins today.  Traffic wasen't to bad at all.  All I can say is I am still shakeing my head at the rabbies/tetnas shots that went out at 5 am this morning.  I am still thinking of what to do with the leftovers for dinner tonight.  Life could be worse I guess besides doing dishes from yesterday waiting on the Hot water  and what combo of leftovers to make for dinner tonight.  Well with alot of folks I know now where I stand at and really don't care.  I still have my health and sanity for the rest of the year and next year.  My life maybe a bit crazy and I like it like that.  Life has went on without the chat rooms and I like it like that with a clear mind also.  I was asked lastnight if I wanted a beer and I turned the person down granted I wasen't driveing, but still I wasent in the mood after the explosion of the glass wear in the kitchen.  And if I was a true son of a pup I would have beat the stuck up snob in Target theis morning also.  I let it go only becuase the gal wasen't worth the fight in the first place.  Now 20 yrs ago the gal would have been laying on the floor without a problem and I would have went home and waited on the Town Clowns to get here.  When I am right I am right on alot of things.  Then there is the point of where I ignore you and go from there for some folks out there.  Last night was the perfect time to where I diden't pick up the cell phone becuase I was blown off from some folks that I thought were friends.  I pulled a 20lb bird out becuase I diden't get a call that they were not showing up early enough untill I called the night before asking over the phone.  So I cooked the bird anyway and I will NEVER invite the couple over again for ANYTHING anymore EVER.  I understand for some who I asked over with Health problems.  So I brought dessert to them and hung out with better company than getting cut down at the ankles from some electrition that can't find his head from his toush half the time.  Now over the years I have had my gas remain on and several other things.  Yes I may have been broker than snot in some cases, but, Please I have always budgeted out the money for the lean times also.  I have also stuck to a plan to where I can work with the lean times also.  I still cut back at all times where I see fit.  If that means alot of things are cut off for 5 days a week during the peek hours for power usage then so be it.  My power bill is cheaper than most here in the Town of Niagara also.  I have no reason to complain at all I am makeing it in the real world with heat and I can cook on the gas range also thruout the year.  Yes I have space heaters left over from when I worked at ERT in the VERY COLD.  Pluss if the gas does go out around here from the gas company switching lines at least I have heat in the can and a way to cook also.  I will admit to it I will pick up the sales even if it kills me.  Ok so I was out at Target for Black Friday and got alot of things on sale.  And missed my sandwich maker for 4 dollars and that is ok.  Sweats and a few other things made it well worth it this morning.  Even the snob that reminded me of a few other people I know diden't even bother me at all.  All I can say is when folks cut you down in life they may be broker than you are .

I was standing in the middle of Target and was hearing about the 2 women biteing eachother.  And what is it about Black Friday that brings out the worst in some people besides they are plain out nasty anyway.  So I let it go only becuase the person just wasen't worth going to jail over at all.  I did get several good deals while over at Target.  It could have been worse this morning.  Mud puddles and walking is what I was really thinking of.  The traffic was not bad niether only if you know the back way into the Tops/Target complex.  Now today I did save about 50 dollars on the order.  It seems like once a year I get more sweats.  And watch the regesters while you are at it it is the holliday season and if they charge more than the sale price start hollering.  There were alot of the try me pieces in the housewears department also.  The joys of shopping in the morning of course.  So anyway there was another poor girl just starting out on her own within a week.  I told her my best advice was good cookwear first off and ask for a Kitchenaid mixer.  Pluss the http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ to start cooking with.  The poor girl was just plain greatfull that I told her what to do.  Well I know how it is to first start out and nobody gave me any advice when I started out so I try to with other folks if they are unsure.  That and do everything as cheap as possible except for some things.  Good cookwear is one of them things that you do not skimp on.  I can really say that the Dollar Stores have helped out over the years for food and a few other things for the place.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder today.

WOW the bird is in

The bird has been in for the past almost 3 hrs now and not even a fight yet.  Except with the bird of course in shoveing stuffing into the toush.  I can laugh now about it without the normal fist fights and bad mouthing going on this year.  It doesent seem real around here this year. 

Never a phone call

Yesterday I made a phone call to make sure that at least one couple was coming over and she told me no that they are going someplace else.  I said fine a phone call would have beeb nice since I did pull out the 20lb bird since nobody called me back to let me know.  That only tells me that eather I am makeing it further than what they like me to which I could care less about.  A totally differant couple called me a week and a half ago to let me know they had other plans which is great to let me at least know about it instead of last min unlike the electrition and his wife.  So yes I have been going really cheap as of late to streach out the dollar.  Well after this I do have alot to be Thankfull as of now at this point.  I have enough food for the table, the gas is turned on still along with the power.  Eather way I am counting my blessings with no ungreatfull children here also while I am at it.  What the Judge did for us down in Brookville PA is still the Blessing.  Now 3 years later the Hippy just told me last night that he dident want Liberty-ann here after the way she treated me and his sister.  Pluss there's more to it that of course I will not say of course.  So yes I am trully greatfull now and know who my true friends are as of now today.  As I say life goes on now after being totally dumped on the curb.  Then this way this year I get to go very cheap and that is my Blessing for this year.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder and eat lots of turkey today.

Still cooking

Another 2 hrs for the bread one more pie and the stuffing is done and cooling off.  The radio hasen't stoped niether so a HUGE thank you to Raido Rich at K-Hits for makeing me a happy girl while I am cooking the prep work for tomorrow.  I am waiting for things to rise and cool off so I can get even more done and dishes once again.  Between today and tomorrow are heck on hand towels but, that is what hollidays are for.  And also good music on http://www.k-hits.com/.  I am also cracking more recipies from my Grandmothers place so this should be good this year.  Now it is still warm here in the can of course becuase the oven has not stoped at all since 8 am this morning.  Right along with the convection oven and the poor Kitchenaid stand mixer.  Tomorrow will be worse of course and that diden't come from my mouth one bit.  Now for tomarrow the crock pot will be going along with the convection oven so we all can get dinner by no latter than 2 pm.  Big Birdy this year of course and the more left overs for me once again.  I diden't even drop a dang bird on my foot this year even though a good friend almost knocked someone out in Walmart with the last turkey I picked up.  Love ya Jose.  And thanks for the good memory of that one.  I can laugh about alot of things now.  That is the best part of the hollidays now.  Mom always serving the burn and serve rolls at dinners and the fights around the table.  And Great cousins to eat with and being with family. 

More cooking to do

I have 3 pies down and the cake that is in the oven.  I still need to make one more pie and the bread for tomarrow.  Pluss 3 loads of dishes done.  I haven't even got to the stuffing for the bird yet niether.  Thinking that the Park Clowns are scared to come to the door also today with the radio/net going with me and a 5lb bag of flour in my hands for most of the day.  All I can say is it's gonna get worse before it gets better today.  I needed to sit for about 20 min here so I can keep going for today and tomarrow.  Now I know some will be laughing at me at the moment becuase I got it up to 85 here in the can already.  Everyone is warm and moody and it's 10 to 11am.  Eather way this is why I do most of the back work today then tomarrow will be the green been cassarole, sweet taters, and the bird.  The convection oven has already saved me this morning also.  And thank goodness for the Kitchenaid mixer also while I am thinking of it.  I am so hard on the hand mixers that I have thrown sparks on more years than I can count so far.  I will have the Kitchenaid stand mixer for a year on Friday.  One of the better appliances that I purchased over the years.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Starting out on a good note

Today is gonna be hairy but with good coffee and everyone still covered up and or sleeping it will be a good day.  There is alot of work that I have to do today with the back up work and pies.  I pulled alot out yesterday for the big meal day then this way I don't forget to make it or figure I don't have it.  Pluss there are leftovers in the fridge for tonight's dinner.  Ok so I never said I was right to begin with.  The piece of meatloaf that is in the fridge has someones name all over it.  Well for today is the rest of the list that I have been waiting for with the bread, cake, and pies along with makeing the bird stuffing so I can handle it tomarrow morning.  Something about shoveing bread crumbs up a dead birds toush I just don't liked to but the stuffing is so good when it comes out.  Anyway at least the Hippy will be in today if he can get aroung the Highway closure this morning.  A load of aluminum over turned almost near my place.  Figures the day before Thanksgiveing a totaled Tractor and the driver has a few bumps and knots that he can't rub for tomarow.  I said before that I do live on a service road for the mall and other places.  If I pull out of the main drive way I can see the highway right there.  And never mind what else I see beyond the hwy also.  The only thing I worry about is the parking for when folks start showing up.  Ok I have to get going here to start cooking of course for tomarrow.  So have fun and play even harder.

Alot more work today

Part of the 3 day list is done already.  And the list keeps growing by leaps and bounds around here.  Well after yesterday I was wandering why my wrists were hurting for today.  The 37 dollars in cans diden't help out none for me also.  So now to vacume the place today to pick up the dog and cat hair pluss every thing else that is in the carpet.  Yes I have started pulling for the big cooking day already.  I will start the prep work tomarrow and use the convection oven pluss the gas oven also.  Lots of pies,cakes, breads, and a few other things that need to get done.  Then this way for the bird day I can kinda kick back and not have to worry about much.  It is somewhat funny with the both appliances I still do not have alot of room to cook.  So eather way at least if I get part of it done tomarrow and the rest on Thursday it seems less hairy.  And no hollering,screaming, nor fighting this year in the place I won't know how to react.  For 13 years of hollidays around here there has been fighting untill I put my foot down on it.  This year I am hopeing that everything goes smoothly.  Well with me being a spit fire that I am I won't put up with it this year.  On Saturday the Hippy reminded me about the fist fights that went on in my place.  And that he would miss it again this year and I did the happy dance in the kitchen.  Ok folks I better get on the move here to get more done.  Have fun and play even harder.

On the run today

I hit the kitchen hard and heavy this morning befor I even left for the bank and grocery store.  More work needs to be done around the can but it is cleaning up fairly well for the most part.  I had 30.95 in cans and another 21 and some change with coupons and the card for today.  Not includeing another 6.10 in cans for the kitchen wood burner stove that folks gave me also today while I was cashing in the cans.  So A HUGE thanks to the folks who left me thier cans today.  All I could do was accept them and go from there.  And I diden't even empty out the van totally for the returns that I have picked up also from the dumpster and off the side of the road.  I want a bit more before I cash the babies in for the nickles again.  So you have it I will haul them around untill I get about 10 dollars worth again for it.  It is nice to see bills in the jar for the wood burner stove.  Heat source and cooking if the power really goes out when I get a new/used house.  So yes the coupons and the bottle returns do help out alot.  Pluss the poor guy next to me had about 70 dollars worth of cans and bottles that he turned in.  Almost the end of the month for the ss check and pentions.  I look at it like this the kids don't care up here a nickle to them is nothing just like the Girl that is suppose to be my niece.  I picked up 10 dollars in change up off the floor of her room where she was at in Punxey Pa.  All that tells me is that she was more spoiled than I really thought she was.  So Yes the money was put to good use eather way.  Crazey 8 sale ofver at the store while I was there.  A whole shopping buggy full for 33 dollars that day.  And all I stoped in for was soda and coffee.  Oppssssssies on my part.  It was good eating for a week after and then some.  Now for up here in NY I have to plan and budget hard for what I got and then some.  And a weeks worth of meals off of 30 dollars up here now for the hollidays.  All I can do is keep the cards that I do have and go from there becuase I may just go back down to my aunts house for a couple of days yet again this year.  She has a BiLo store down the street from her place.  I have to laugh sometimes only becuase I still have my BiLo card from Pa.  And it saves money eather way I go.  I can only emagin the Hippies shock when I told him over 50 dollars today and another 6.10 in other cans that were handed to me also while I was feeding the tamora machine.  And that we are a great uncle and aunt of a bouceing 8lb 10oz baby girl at 23 inches.  I am a happy camper.  Leave it up to auntie to spoil the girl as much as I can.  My nefews are a trip and I love every min of it let me tell ya.  So that bit of good news from lastnight when I talked with our niece.  And the poor girl was happier only becuase her and her old mans annerversery was yesterday also.  She is use to all boys/men in her family so leave it up to great anuntie for the perks for the baby girl.  And to do things cheap for the baby also.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Well another trip to the store

I totally forgot that I do not have a roasting pan big enough for a 20 lb bird.  I thought I did untill I pulled the pan out and it wont fit.  It won't be so bad since it is Monday and I will be at the store by 915am.  With a fist full of coupons of course.  Eather way I needed to go back to the store for a few more things.  Pluss to cash in the cans again.  That is the bad part 5 black bags full of cans.  Anyway a busy morning and a busy afternoon also becuase I will be cleaning the place up as normal for Thursday.  It seems really wierd that the hollidays are apon us once again.  I will be slaveing over 2 ovens and watching/listening to the football game.  Thank goodness I have the convection oven this year with the big turkey this year.  Of course the pies and bread will be done on Wednsday and my as well break it all up so I do not have to get up by 3 am Thursday morning.  So now lets see what kind of damage I can do before I do the running this morning and I will let you know how I did at the store also.  Have fun and play even harder.

Thank goodness for Aldi

Well I am still putting away from the Aldi trip.  I still do not get any help from the Hippy at all.  That is why I have been busting my butt all day and will keep busting it untill I get the can clean enough to where I am comfertable.  Pluss I still need to pull the bird out of the deep freezer as normal.  This is bad becuase I still need to rearange and clean out the fridge from what the Hippy does to it over the weekends.  A 20 lb bird isen't much is it since I really do not know in how many people are really coming over.  Pluss leftovers so I can cook more than my fair share of everything.  All I need is some gravey and I am set.  Ok folks if your household doesen't like leftovers tough now is the time of year to start out on the leftovers.  Leftovers is what keeps some households going.  Like my can.  I can really laugh now becuase I will have 101 ways of turkey for a week after I cook the bird.  I shake my head at the folks who refuse to eat leftovers.  Some is better over the days after it has been cooked like sauce and turkey.  Turkey pot pie with the green bean casserole and a few other things also.  Sonney was so right about what she said about makeing good use of the leftover turkey dinner.  Now some of the kids I would have invited over for turkey dinner I won't do it now.  The ones who need the shock collers.  They can go hungery again this year.  I have called CPS here and they do not wanna do anything not my problem I did my job by letting them know about the kids that haven't ate in days and the parent who is there just don't care.  If I did something like that my toush would have been strung up and then some in what the low life is doing to his 2 children.  But I am the one who gets ragged on for everything so I gave up and will keep what I have to protect my own place.  As some said I am a Man hater anyway and I really Hate a man who abuses his children and other Women on top of it.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

I am getting there

Tomarrow I get to take the cans in to cash them in.  I will let you know in how much that was stock piled here in the mud room.  All I can do is laugh at some who do not take the cans in for what they paid for them now a days.  You already pay the nickle may as well take them back in what you paid into them.  Pluss not only that I am figureing about 25 dollars so far in cans it maybe more than what I think is out there also.  So it will not be bad when I go back to cash them in for the rest of this month also.  There are so many extras that it isen't even funny during the holidays.  And I am thinking of course of what else to get besides the Cool Whip for the pies and cake for Thursday.  Aldi's has helped a whole lot when I was there on Friday.  It is a very funny thing when you try to do everything on a strict budget year after year.  And you get cheaper thru the years also.  Or maybe it is just me doing the very tight budget for the holidays for food wise.  Granted I saved 2 dollars yesterday over at Smokin Joes for smokes.  Even the girl said 2 dollars is 2 dollars.  Here in NY State it is even worse trying to get the saveings in.  The one news place has a news for the money segment 5 days a week and I have most of the Tips that they all shown beat to a pulp around here.  And what they shown on the news is old news and an old habbit here with me.  Four of the light bulbs that are the squiggies as I call them have lasted over 10 years already.  They are the CFL light bulbs.  The trick is not to have all the lights burning at once in the place.  Pluss school days are a nice thing with the kids becuase, they are not home during the week most weeks for about 8 hrs a day.  Granted it is a bit unnerving at first with a bone quiet place but once you get use to it it is heaven on wheels.  Now yesterday while I was out I stoped at a pet store with birds dogs and cats.  I wanted to laugh at one Buddgie and coulden't at all.  The bird said F***ing pretty.  I understood why he was in the back room after that statement out of the bird.  Not good for the kids/tape recorders ears at all.  And all the birds were somewhat loud yesterday and dogs/puppies were even in a good mood also.  Now I don't know how many folks are use to the African Parrots but the bigger they are the louder they are also.  Now I have a Quaker Parrot here at my place he/she can get loud.  I call him Olliver becuase that is what the bird responds to.  Now my old Red Back Parrot was named Bruttis and fit her very well.  Becuase she was a brute in the household.  Some folks do not realize that some dogs will just down right tease birds if you have both in the household.  Bruty would dive bomb the dogs at all times.  Olliver wont bomb the dog but loves to bomb the cat.  Never a dull moment around here let me tell you.  Now after we got Olliver for the most part straighten out and bulked up he has had less problems here than at his privious owners place.  Olliver has seazures becuase of lack of eatting and bad meds.  The woman who had him also Clipped his beak way to short to my standards.  Now Olliver is eatting better and has torn up one box(munchin noodles box).  He doesen't eat what he tears up at all.  So now more will go into his cage for food over the hollidays to see what Olliver eats and doesen't eat.  He can have milk as long as it is cooked.  And a few things will be kept back so he can eat thru the hollidays also.  I know he likes his tuna fish.  So now to start fixing the other stuff also for the hollidays once again.  And lets see where I get at thru the week also.  I know wensday is gonna be just a tourcher day. 

Going thru the sale ads

Well I have found a site on the web that gives all the sale ads pluss the Black Friday ads.  http://www.sundaysavers.com/ It is a good site to go to all of the stores in one spot.  The Rollar bags are set and ready let me tell you for when I go walking over to Walmart on Friday morning.  I can say 3 min on foot or 40 min to get there by car not includeing the parking time.  That is with the 15 min to get out of the main driveway.  With all of the traffic between the mall and the cut thru there still is traffic from the locals around here.  This is when I do not mind walking at all.  Anyway with everything going on this week and today and tomarrow will be just nuts around here.  With getting a head start cooking and cleaning tonight.  Not saying that the can is all that bad just needs touch ups that I dident get to this past week.  Well at least I will be just plain exsausted by Thursday once again.  And I get to cook a huge meal on Thursday and alot of back up work the day before of course.  It will look like a flour bomb went off by the time it is all done.  Pluss the pile of hand towles by the time I am done also.  So lets see how much I can get done today.  So have fun and play even harder.

Went really well

It went really well yesterday at Aldi.  But then again in the Niagara Falls store it is always nuts in there.  I got out of there for under 100 dollars yesterday.  So it was a really good day.  The Hippy was impressed on it.  I can really laugh with the poor woman that was behind me also.  A BIG thanks to her for holding the cart while I was pulling the big stuff out.  Had 3 cases of caned vegies and 8 bags of flour.  So with alot of stuff I am stocked on and I still go thru somethings like water. It's the flour during the holidays of course and alot of hand towles.  So I will be keeping the basket for the towles that I go thru this year near the end of the counter.  I need at least 1 for the fresh bread again this up coming week.  Now this year I kindda cheated for one pie crust for the Honey Oatmeal pie.  The recipie is on the http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ or at least the base recipie at least that I use.  Ok folks I have to get a move on here so have fun and play even harder.

Most of the list is done

Most of the list is done once again except the laundery of course.  Never fails between dishes and the laundery it never ends.  So I ended up at Aldi's today while I was at it all also.  It was a total mad house in the place.  They have totally ran out of cat food at the store I go to and I won't drive into buffalo for one thing that the cat likes.  Ok I do have a cheap kitty and she really doesen't care what I get for food as long as it is not 9Lives.  She will move you out of the can if she eats it.  So under 100 dollars in Aldi I have alot of the shopping done for the month and for the holidays also.  That is what some folks do not understand about being a frugal or cheap person.  And some wouldent be caught in Aldi at all now.  I think it is sad on thier part.  75 cents for a bag of flour I am there.  Now granted I cook alot for my household.  I rarely go out to eat becuase now I pay for it the next day.  So the normal chicken and a few other things at Aldi and I am good for the month.  Eather way I can make better food than dinning out someplace.  All the years working in the food service has paid off now.  The Hippy laughs at me now.  Becuase he gets better food out of my can than outside of my can now.  Even the Hippies sister said that I totally out beat her in cooking.  After the first lassana she made I wander why and Of course I had to tease her about it and she laughed right along with me only becuase of the reactions of everyone that sat down to eat at the table.  Lots of good laughs out of my kitchen is all I can say.  And yes there are times where I have totally bombed a meal also.  There is always the one meal that doesen't look good when you slap it on the table.  And you are asked what is that and it tastes pretty good.  The older folks just look at me when I say I make homemade pies and other things from my kitchen.  Then they realize it is cheaper to make the baked goods out of the kitchen than it is to buy it at the stores.  And taste alot better also.  Becuase alot of the times it is made with alot of love and care.  Just like when you make something from Grandma's house and it just doesen't taste the same.  They do it with a whole bunch of love and care and alot of practice also.  That is why I have to laugh sometimes like at my Aunt's house.  She asked me to taste something and I told her something was missing out of it.  She forgot the basil in the sauce and a bit more sugar.  So please by all means crack recipies in the kitchen.  You will be surprised that everyone will still eat and won't die from it.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Hard time getting motivated

I am really haveing a hard time getting my toush in gear this morning.  It is Friday for one and after the meatloaf and the kitchen a dissaster area.  It was good.  So with everything that I am plotting for today on where to start and go from there.  And yes I have my list still from yesterday in all that I dident get done thru the day.  As some will say time management is key to running the household.  That went out the window along time ago with me.  What I get done is what I get done for the day.  Weather anyone likes it or not.  So now to clean the kitchen then head out to Aldi in the afternoon.  Or tomarrow while I am on the way back from the reservation run.  That is one nice thing about this area is that everything is on the way along with some of the dollar stores and Big Lots.  Ollies is another good store also if you have one near you.  So tomarrow will be another busy day of course and Monday well it is even worse.  I am still plotting and planning and prioritizeing for the day.  That is the worst part of it all.  Ok folks I will be back to let you know so have fun and play even harder.

A wet birdy again

I have to laugh at Olliver the bird.  He was sitting on my soulder when I put a plate of water in his cage this morning.  The bird and the kitchen is all wet now.  For such a small bird he sure does fling water all around and gets soaked himself.  I put a pan of water down the bird wants to get clean let him.  Most times i soak up the water with my socks anyway.  Yes go ahead and laugh now.  SO give a bird a pan of water if you have one or more.  Have fun folks.

Good day today

Well good day today got the shipment and the breaks done.  Pluss a trip to Walmart today.  Well I had to pick some things up today and get the breaks bleed a bit longer.  Love my shop guy.  I am a happy happy girl at this point.  Cooking with what I love to cook with and good food in the kitchen coming out yummy.  I can say being cheap is well worth the trouble around my place.  I saved at least 30 dollars without coupons today at Walmart.  And that was just the sales alone.  I diden't pick up another turkey becuase they ran out of the 19 cents per pound birds today so it saved me dropping one on my foot this time.  Well Walmart is cheaper than the regular grocery chains up here at this point in time.  Now if I had brought coupons on top of it today the cashier would have been loveing me kinda along with the cans.  The poor guy was just plain hungery today.  The gal infront of me was going to make blueberry pies I'm makeing the honey oatmeal.  I felt sorry for the guy checking us out.  And Aldi will being visited tomarrow also.  I am not done shopping at all this month.  I have been running low of course but haven't bothered to run to the store except for the little things.  Well almost 50 dollars later at Walmart today and a ton of food of course I really need canned goods also.  And most of the next Thursdays meal is here in the can.  Real mashed taters with sour cream, cheese and a few other things mixed in, pluss the green bean casserole yummy.  I am craveing alot of the holliday dishes already.  Do it cheap as you can.  Folks wont know the differance anyway.  Ok have fun and play even harder.

Another day and now I don't wander

Well yesterday I was hurting so I was in bed for most of the day.  Now it is raining pretty good out there and have the candles already out just in case.  Never fails so I try to at least get 2 big candles out pluss the tea candles also.  It is pretty wierd that with the candles you get light and heat at the same time but, it works.  In what I do is start getting candles when they are on sale at the stores.  I have one shelf full of dicounted candles here in the place.  Some I can not use becuase of the bird.  So the ones I can't use I have pulled back for a last min. gift for someone.  It works for me.  There are alot of folks who like the candles.  SOme of my bigger candles are not leaveing the can unless I move and they will be going with me also.  During the black out several years ago I was glad I had enough of them to light the kitchen up along with the bathroom.  Then the last go around for 20 hrs.  The power company thought I had power again untill they walked in and seen 3 candles lit on the table.  Well not only that I light the tea candles in the morning while I am sitting at the table before 7am also and watch the neighborhood go by.  Then the place goes really quiet untill the children start coming home.  Anyway at least today I can get something done around here since I laid around yesterday.  It will be nice to have a clean can again.  So eather way I will be busy today and it helps with the wait on the UPS guys who I know can't log the travel time from Illinois to here in Ny.  It takes more than 10 hrs to get up here from Illinois from eather way.  So I am hopeing that it is a morning shipment at least today instead of the afternoon.  You can't tell I'm excited over this one.  Laugh if you want and that is ok by me.  At least I have a durable all purppous sauce that is good.  The stake sauce will get left behind for awhile.  And a meatloaf will be cooked for tomarrow nights dinner.  Now the Hippy was laughing at me on Tuesday becuase the milk went bad and I got the powdered milk out to use.  We got thru dinner at least.  Pluss it works for my can/kitchen becuase I can make up 4 cups at a time and run with it.  I use it for bakeing more and more becuase the baked goods seem to last longer with the powdered milk instead of the regular out of the gallon jug milk.  So I will make more up for the folks that come over for thier coffee who want the liquid creamer.  Ok folks I have to get a move on so I can start cleaning.  Hve fun and play even harder.

Feeling lucky now

Well my joints have subsidded as of this point in time.  Nothing has been done in the can niether so I can't complain at all on my end.  My fingers are still swollen so are the knees and the back would kill the biggest buff babyWrastler from wwe) in the world also.  I am not complaining in the least bit becuase I am so use to haveing the pain that if anyone took it away from me then I woulden't know how to react without the pain.  So I deal with it when it is bumped up 6 notches after the thresh hold of what I can tollerate.  That is with the working broke in life no insurance what so ever.  All we can afford is beer to dull the pain and that is it.  Now for the politions out there walk in the working broke shoes for about 6 months and go from there.  I can run alot more than most in NY State at this point in time.  Heat who needs it in thier building bring space heaters after Electronic Recycleing Tech put me thru in the past 8 years.  Pluss your own T.P. also.  I can tell horror stories form some places that I have worked at and With Mike that has to be one of the worst.  Where in the Hell was NY State Empire zone while we were all coolder than snot in a building.  Back in the state capitole in the warmth of theier OWN OFFICES of course.  Unleash the state taxes becuase I have enough to back my own toush up now with what I have here in the can.  Along with the nefew of the company also and Niagara Falls wanted him on the councile.  Now I could get voted in to where ever becuase I refuse to give up the cheap in life on alot of things.  Have fun and take a good hard look at who you vote in.

Not gonna get much done today

I will not get much done today.  It is painfull just sitting here typeing.  So I will not leave the house untill tomarrow to go shopping unless it's the dollar store where the folks dont mind helping me pick stuff up off the shelves.  So today I will take mental notes of what has to be done and write them down tomarrow for thursday.  Eather way I have to sit back and wait.  Every so offten I do order something off line.  The shippment will be here tomarrow also.  Well if you can get a product that you like on line directly from the company go for it if you can not get it in the area that you are in.  And if it is a good price also.  Most companies do not mind if you order from them at all.  The smaller the company they will help more in picking out what best fits your means.  Ok folks have fun and play harder.  And remember the poor UPS guys at this time of year.

Long day again

I had another long day and the Hippy popped in.  Today for some reason my energy has been zapped out of me.  Even though I got stuff done and started matching the coupons with the sale ads.  Winter is sure coming and quick around here again.  That is the bad part around here is that there will be the 4 letter dirty word (snow) here shortly once again.  I am expecting at least a 4 foot dumping for the first go around.  Oh well it could be worse I guess. 

Now I remember why of the ups guys

Well UPS has the tracking thank goodness.  But it drives some of us bananas in how they ship things.  Instead of going to Earth City Mo.  keep it in the state of Illinois folks less waste in gas that way.  And with the Diesal prices out there good Lord on it.  Last time I checked up here it was 3.25 per gallon but that is the state of NY for ya also naill everyone in taxes.  Seeing almost 200 gallons of fuel going into a tractor trailer is an eye opener eather way.  And the new plate fee for the state was shot down this morning also thank goodness.  25 dollars more becuase of new plates that's uncalled for eather way.  Even though the plates here in NY State are cheaper for the 2 years than other states.  So I won't hollar to much over it.  Blue and yellow yuck is all I have to say now I liked the plates of when I first got up here better.  Pluss the state inspection with the money we all have to dish out for that also.  It amazes me that some cars still dont need to be hooked to the computer to send out to Albany in what is wrong with the car van or truck.  Like it is thier busniss anyway if the check engen light is on or not.  Sincors go bad all of the time and not enough money to go for the car.  But the money hungery bone heads as a politition don't see it the way the rest of us do.  Some do though see it as the working class so it's not all of them at once.  And another way to use the signs after the election is as a sled for the snow.  Ok so I am cheap and seen it for real as a cheap way of doing things.  Anyway since I am sitting here I will look at midas's web site for coupons becuase the breaks and a few other things need to be done to my van.  Now at one time I did have a Honda and loved it untill I landed in someones front yard on the 219 comeing back for a doctors appointment from PA.  There was no fixing that one at all.  Well I just can't stand moveing in the winter months and that is another reason why I just do not  like it at all.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Got most of the list done and going thru coupons

I will say this that I do write everything down that I see that needs to be done in the can.  Then the other list of little stuff that has been ignored for way to long also for here at my place.  I will try to tackle some of that today and take an inventory of what is needed.  The Hippy remined me last night of the other list that needed to be done also.  It wont hurt as bad as we all think it will I have a ton of coupons for this go around for the stores at least.  That is the saveing grace for this month of course.  Once you figure out the coupon system it gets easier with every trip to the store.  When there is a buy one get one free of something on sale and depending on how the coupon reads, you can use 2 of the coupons if it reads for a singal item on the face of the coupon.  If the coupon reads like a dollar off 2 then it is just that a dollar off 2.  Pluss most of the grocery chains will double the coupon up to .99 of the value.  So if you can hit the sales pluss the coupon the better on the grocery budget.  And you may get a bit of everything from the coupon use but there is always a way to make a meal out of what you have.  I have noticed that not every store take the printed coupons so check with the stores policy on it.  I know with Walmart they do so does Target.  I have both policies printed and in my saddle bag just in case if the cashier does not want to take the printed ones.  It is in black and white for them and they can read thru it.  Now sometimes I can get 27 dollars of saveings with the printed coupons and then there are always the days that I can get over 50 dollars at the store in the coupon saveings.  One of the gals up here asked me in how I really do it all and keep everything straight for the coupons.  I told her the envelope system that I have and a small box for them.  That is how I keep organized for the most part.  And at first you may want to start small with it.  I know some folks who have a huge box full of coupons and all seperated also.  Then there is the rebate end of the grocery store also.  I have done some rebates thru the years and you have to watch them very close.  Becuase some of the rebates are bunk.  So just be carefull of the rebates that are out there.  Now what I do to get coupons for the stores is first I print them out depending on what store I am going to and get the Sunday paper also.  In some areas the coupons come out on Wensday.  Also beware of the coupons that some sites want you to pay for the coupon or rebate.  I am very leary of places that do charge for the coupons becuase you never know if they will be expired or not by the time they hit your mailbox.  Anyway since I have been useing coupons I have heard so many behind me complain about the stack that I had in my hand and saying that we will be here forever.  Untill they see the 30 to 50 if not more drop in the grocery bill.  They get a bit surprized by the time I am done.  Sometimes I get the last laugh on alot of things while standing in line.  Also when you are first starting out with the coupons clip the ones you want.  Like if there is bar soap coupons clip them along with laundery deturgant pluss the drier sheets.  There are alot of coupons out there you may not use also.  IF you are a housewife and are lucky enough to be, have a get togeather to traid coupons along with all the kids they can play while the swap is going on.  And traid houses with it all, one person this week  the next person the next week and so on.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Sitting here and waiting

Now I put an order out for something and it will be here by thrusday afternoon.  I will keep up with the orders also for my household.  Cheaper than cheap all purpouse sauce dang straight now and a taste of home.  Just like Amhurst/Buffalo is the anchor bar with Ted's hot Dogs.  St. Louis is Ted drews http://www.teddrews.com/ and CountryBob's all purpous sauce.  Well I will never forget about a baby and my puppy eating frozen custard togeather.  It is like hand in hand from St. Louis like the hill also.  The Mother of the baby freaked out the father thought it was funny.  The Hippy and I both offered another cone to the baby to eat and the other to share.  Annie was about 4 months old if that at the time the baby was maybe 2 if 2 and a half.  One of the days you wish you had a camera on hand.  Both shareing at the same time.  Now the baby has to be about 15 and just as sweet as he can also to other than his parents.  The joys of traveling to home now.  As I told my Momma that dog will wait on her no matter what and I was right the last time I was home.  And one child from the school across the street that the dog loved.  Now the boy knows who I am talking about with the beagle border collie mix.  From the christian school.  The poor dog laid there in the heat of the day untill the boy came out in the wheel chair and greated him to go home.  All the nice memories of what whent on besides the funeral for that year.  I did the math and it dident cost any more than a plane ride to Lambert Air Port from Niagara international.  Or Buffalo International.  Between food and gas the Hippy and I did good.  A fully loaded car/van took about 15 hours to get home.  And that was with 2 gallons of  bbq sauce to boot along with other things.  At 5.5% tax insted of 7% Gee I wander why I did all the shopping for dry balk down in Illinois.  Just like NY state goes to PA. every so often for the cheaper prices on everything except milk.  It was 5 dollars more a carton of smokes for the good ones of course I ran out before the 2 weeks were up.  So did my Cousin who is old enough to do the same as I can.  Ok so we both hit the bar for the hockey playoffs.  We both walked for the most part in town that is how close everything is.  Unlike Punxey PA.  The movie Ground Hog's day is so true untill the crazy 8 sale went and the 2 for 1 at the slaughter house also went on.  Nothing changes at all even the springs that poke you in the middle of the back at the Pantall Hotel don't even change.  The bar is and was good.  They gave me a hangover at midnight so a BIG THANX to the barmaid there.  Alot of the times the small towns of PA alot of places you can walk to.  Like the main Funeral Home is on the next block in Punxy from the hotel eather one.  So If you are in a small town sorry about this post.  If you are not related to half the town it is ok.  I am the exception of I know Half of Punxey Pa and the other half loves me.  The folks down there know if I am cleaning yes I have the radio going to the point of it not bothering anyone else and if it is tell me PLEASE.  I will turn it down.  That is why I do not have some spoiled brat at this point.  Liberty Ann and Docsaplaya Should get togeather some day.  They are both spoiled rotten Brats who don't have a clue about the real world out side of makeing folks misserable.  So yes I have went cheap at my own terms and like it at my own pace of things.  So if Doc if you are reading this Liberty Ann is 18 and as much as trash as you are so have fun. 

I just can't stand the van

Now I know why I hardly go anywhere during the week.  The 2 hr. drive just sucks the life out of me.  Pluss made the bed in the bunk while I was at it all.  Maybe what it is also is I do not like driveing at night on roads that I do not know also.  Anyway I made it home and that is all that matters.  Now with the news going there are another rash of car jackings going on in the Buffalo area.  I thought that's nice.  The gun permits never left me and niether has my .45 at all.  I kept the permits just becuase over the years.  As I say cheaper to keep them instead of trying to get them all back at some point.  And now really nobody really messes with an alert person anyway.  It's all in the confadence you throw out.  I learned that years ago.  Maybe that is why I just blow gaskets more than normal.  Well at least I have something to look forward to during the week while I am alone.  Saveing on the power bill and alot of other things in the can.  Pluss I don't mind being alon most of the time anyway.  It gives me time to cut corners without anyone here and try other new things.  If I like them then I will say something about it.  And http://www.coupondad.com/ has alot of good coupons this go around.  It is funny around here I get really board and start searching for alot of stuff.  It makes some folks heads spin let me tell you.  So when I make another big trip to Walmart I will take the printed coupons with me also and save that much more while I am there.  Pluss the household cans.  So between the both I may do well at the stores this time around.  There is so much to do here that I may be busy for the next couple of days.  So I will be around.  Hve fun and play even harder.

Well being torn down again

Some folks like to tear down others becuase we try to live as cheap as possible and tell the truth on things.  All I can do is shake my head on the mean, nasty folks that want to tear down others to make themselves look good.  I am not rich by money standards at all.  I do make it out in the world with what we bring into the can.  I look at it like this if I want to streach out what I have via what is in the house and living in the means with money left over every month so be it.  I do not go out and spend every dime that comes in on the latest fads that are out there.  If and when I do want something for the can I will save for at least a couple of months if not longer.  Just like now I am saveing up for a regular house and a wood burning kitchen stove.  It may be a nickle at a time with me but well worth the wait on both.  And untill some folks have walked in my shoes then they will understand in how I run things for my place.  I know some people are still worried about if they will have a job tomarrow or not.  I also understand this part of life liveing day to day and pay to pay.  That is part of the reason why I have started this blog.  If I can help one person out there then I am good to go and warn others that may be blind sided by other folks of when they start with the why bother to go this way and just spend and spend.  I will keep the nickle saveing up for my own sanity and for something to do in down times when I know things are tough in the economy and everyplace else.  That is life in todays world.  Not saying that everyone is gonna worry about where thier next meal is going to come from out there but, when you do and makeing that end of the budget streach out as far as you can I do understand that.  You do what ever it takes to make sure everyone else is fed before yourself in the house along with the bills are being paid.  That is part of the reason why I haven't went to the organic side of things also.  And yes there are times where I make my own household cleaners also.  So when folks start tearing you down for what you feel is best for you and your household let the folks talk and one day they will find out that they are broker than they thought and what you thought they were and are.  As the old saying goes a penny saved is a penny earned it takes alot of pennies to save up but well worth the trouble of going thru.  Also you are a penny richer in your pocket instead of the other persons pocket that supposadly has so much that they do not know what to do with it all. 

A nice Sunday

Well at least it will be a good sunday today.  Now to go get money out of the bank so the Hippy can run the tolls and get other food on the road.  I will be sending munchies with him also this week.  Now since I am running 2 kitchens again and have got use to it just totally forgot about the Dollar Tree for the munchie food.  So here I will go back to the Dollar Tree for alot more now.  When you try to streach out the dollar there are always ways to do so.  Also with me sometimes I just need a bit of something before the big shopping trips it seems like.  Now the Dollar stores will help out alot more from now on.  You would be suprized in how many name brands are at the Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Family Dollar.  I will tell you the stock changes alot.  And you can always find something that you like in the 3 places.  The fun is seeing in what is in the Dollar stores.  Between all the dollar stores out there I shop all of them for the most part.  Now with 2 of them depending on what you need for the household I can hit the both up and be good for laundery needs and other things.  I have had cashiers ask why I hardly get the swifters/knock off brands any more.  Well I use a towel for the swifter here at my place.  I learned to be cheap in the hotels while I was working at them while laid off at another company before they closed the doors.  So yes for one that unenploys people then you find other means to bring in income to the household.  Or you start looking at your own budget and the best places to shop at again.  Now I always shopped at the dollar stores for work anyway.  And alot I have cut back on also in what I get.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Makeing dinner

Well a whole bird in the oven.  Chicken of course.  Even though I have 3 turkeys in the deep freezer at this point in time.  For a whole chicken there's at least a weeks worth of meals for me here.  Now for some family's there's 2 nights or lunch the next day.  It depends on the size of the bird also.  There are alot of ways to make chicken.  And it is cheap also for families.  At least around here in NY it is.  If you can pick it up on sale it is even better.  Alot of times I will get the whole chicken when it is on sale for 79 cents a pound.  And serveral of them of course.  Look for the sale ads of course and what is on sale.  Then figure what is right for your household and plan meals for 2 weeks.  See how that goes then add another 5 days to that.  That is how most of us have started out.  Now it is like the 30 day planners are a drop in the bucket to most of us also for meals.  I can laugh sometimes becuase there is always another way to cook for the household.  I have alot of rice and pasta still in the can.  Rice is a big thing with me.  And always will be of course.  So see what you can make from scratch and go from there.  Not only that it is cheaper on the grocery budget also.  Now with 8 bags of flour in my can it will go for bread, pizza, muffins, and many other things for the household.  There has been plenty of times where I have been out and I check the pie prices at the bakeries at the stores.  They want at least 7 dollars per pie up here.  When I can make it for about 3 dollars a pie from scratch at home.  Pluss I know what is in it when I make it myself.  Most of the pie recipies came from the http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/.  Now for some of the recipies yank them off the can of the pie filling.  As I say tweek the recipie to fit your household.  Now here we go thru alot of onions and garlic also.  So that is another couple of staples in the household.  When folks say that they can feed a family for so much a month it depends on the household also.  Also 70 dollars goes along way for my place once again.  Now for munchies in the truck I go alot to the dollar stores.  It seems strange I know but, it also works.  I can also cook off of a detroit diesal also.  Seems strange and you can cook off the 18 weelers engin block.  Ok enough of the off ball things you can do. At least it has slowed down

I worked for about 4 hours here in the kitchen and the laundery area.  Pluss got some other things done also while I was at it.  It should have been a Monday today.  I haven't searched for free stuff yet today trying to get other things done.  All I can do it shake my head becuase I need to do other things also for the can.  Well at least there is the expensive way or the cheap way of doing what I need to do.  Dollar stores here I come again.  Most times if you watch the dollar stores you can do it cheaper than Walmart ever thought of doing things.  And most dollar stores take coupons also.  That is why I say shop around at differant stores for what you need.  Now some of us shop once a month to save money.  Not only that if you only get paid once a month you are pretty much stuck.  And sometimes it works out to where you can only do the shopping once a month.  Now I know here in NY state the gas prices went thru the roof and the milk droped.  So some of us that are close enough to the stores we all walk or car pool.  Unless we all have to get full bore groceries for the places that we are at.  Now I know some do not use and refuse to use coupons at the stores.  And they do not like it when other folks have a stack of coupons also.  SOme have been amazed in how much I have saved on a trip to the grocery store after I clipped "paper money".  I call it paper money becuase if the companies diden't want the coupon out there they woulden't have printed them at all for the papers.  Pluss all the sales that the stores put out and the coupons equal out to be big saveings for the consumers out there.  Last night a dear friend said she saved half of the grocery bill with coupons and sales.  Now this poor woman is a cashier for a supermarket chain.  One of the few cashiers that I know that doesen't mind takeing the coupons becuase she doesent have to lift anything for a bit.  I had to laugh becuase I know the woman way to well.  With me it is a game to see how far I can streach everything out in the household and how much money I can save out in the stores now a days again.  Also I will admit that alot of us folks that are streaching out the dollars pretty much stick togeather and compair notes.  I have alot of people just plain out beat.  A few will tell you plain out I am cheap when it comes to shopping.  There are so manythings to do to go cheap in todays world that everyone has thier own perks.  And someone elses way of saveing money is not wrong niether. 

Thought I could stay home

Thought I could stay home today and that is not gonna happen.  So I will clean as much as I can and more laundery.  Part of what it is is that we stayed out longer in N. Collins than I wanted to also yesterday.  And that is ok but everything just blew gaskets for today.  This should be Monday instead of Saturday.  Well traiding days wouldent doubt it in my place(laughing).  Well planning and plotting my way thru the can already to see where is the best place to start.  So while I get the laundery started I will get the cans bagged up also so I can have hot water for the dishes.  I still have to write everything down so I don't forget on things.  Pluss once I start checking things off during the day no aurgueing on the what did you do all day also.  The Hippy teases me all the time about it.  Then he also knows I will to the cheap way out of things also.  Ok folks I better get my toush moveing for the day.  So have fun and play even harder.

Today I got into somemore trouble

Now I haven't been able to get Country Bob's sauce up here in NY at all unless I made a trip down to the St. Louis area.  So I had seen a coupon today again on line for them and got to thinking.  I ended up getting a case of the alpurpose sauce.  It dident cost and arm and a leg niether for the household.  And trust me none will go to waste here.  The Office staff there is so sweet and let me know when I could expect it here on my door step.  They both asked how I found out about it and told both that I diden't live to far from the plant when I was growing up.  Pluss with me working for some places you pretty much know what flys off the shelves also.  And here I was about ready to call a dear friend of mine to send some up and pay her for it.  So now I can order direct from the company.  Now when I say look at web sites you never know what you may stumble on.  It is so true now a days.  And cheaper than I could have got it at the stores down home also.  You can sometimes stumble on great deals out there on the web site.  Now if you seen the same item at the store ask yourself do I need it and can I get it cheaper else were out there.  You have started to going on the frugal side then.  With me I ask myself if the purchase can do double or triple duty also.  Alot of times it does more than that.  Like my food procssor it does 5 duties in one so does my Kitchenaid mixer if not more.  Now I will admit that I do not have all the attachments for the Kitchenaid.  There are alot of things on the wish list that I have.  And yes I will be saveing up for more out of the mixer.  Some may not like what I do and that is ok by me.  At least I can wait on alot of things in life.  Pluss it makes the things I get that much sweeter also.  I am not saying that everything that I do would be right for you but, at least it is a start to do things.  What I have done was grab some things from alot of differant sites out there.  Now when I started all of this is when there was only one income coming into the household.  And alot of it has stuck thru the years like cutting the dryer sheets in half and useing less of the laundery deturgent.  What I do is when everyone is out of the house except for me I can sit down and do things like cut the dryer sheets in half and put them in zip lock baggies.  Then reuse the baggies for more dryer sheets after i go thru them.  Pluss to keep a stocked household for the very lean times that come eather way.  Sometimes I wander in how some folks do it.  As what was said to me today the rich get richer and us broke folks make the world go around but streaching and clipping coupons and looking for free stuff and the best deals out there.  Eather way you look at it most of us are richer than the rich folks out there now a days.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

The good old insurance forms

Haveing to fill out insurance forms just does something to a person.  And trust me I will be makeing phone calls to my family who works in insurance.  That is what bothers some folks out there now a days.  Advice is always free along with the 2nd and 4th eyes in our case.  Glasses.  I got lucky becuase coming back up from North Collins today Alot of places are closed tighter than a wet cat on a hot tin roof all of the way up eather way I went today.  So I will hit the freebee boards alot more now after this trip.  As the girl said things have been tight all over the place.  The Hippy and I stoped on the way back for lunch down the street from the termanal.  A very rare treat for the both of us today.  We are lucky if we even go out to eat now a days.  I  have got that tight around here.  And I think that the Hippy likes my cooking better though.  I can not stand spending 24 dollars for the both of us out.  That is like a weeks worth of meals to my place.  Pluss a few other things.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Today is gonna be bad

Well the middle of the month and the Hippy has to call the termanal once again.  An hours drive out there and an hour back.  Have to fill the gas tank as normal.  Well with the holidays coming up the gas prices are going up again all over.  One nice thing about shopping over at Tops Supermarket is the points you earn for gas.  You spend like 100 dollars they knock off 10 cents off the gas prices.  Pluss they double the coupons up to 99 cents also.  Bad part is they do not take internet printed coupons.  And with the one National fuel office closeing I will be paying the dollar every time I pay the bill again over at Tops.  So I will do some shopping once again also over there since I am there anyway to pay some bills and to do the banking also.  Anyway I did find some free samples yesterday and I am hopeing to get more done today once again.  It will be nice when I get the tote full of free stuff.  And it wont be to hard to do niether.  So now off to find more and see what I can get for today.  Have fun and play even harder.

Love some at walmart

Some of the girls over at Walmart are my favorites of all times.  They ran out of the Glutain that I use for the homemade bread.  Some wanted to come to my place for a home cooked meal after work today also.  After working for a sertien place you pretty much know everyone that works near you.  I need gluten for my bread and since I was at the Walmart Super Center i figured I would pick one up today low and behold they were out.  It will be Monday before they have any and that is fine by me.  Gives some of us a couple of days to get back there to get more for bread.  Now if my baby brother was here I woulden't be asking for it at all.  Autisum hit me and a few others.  My baby brother is just plain Cool Beans to me.  Even though he is a total Man and bigger than I am now.  There is 11 years between us he is still a baby to me.  He also knows that Sissy loves him eather way nomatter what.  And so does bubbs.  My baby with the steal grey eyes is my heart eather way.  And my red head that we found under a rock.  I love them both eather way.  They both were and still are my doll babies in life.  And even though our dad was rough on all 3 of us We have each other eather way.  Unlike some folks that I know that are crule in real life.  Never underguesstamate the person whom you never walked a mile in thier shoes at all and treat everyone as angels in your life.  Becuase they may be angels and you never know it.  I am the type of person who will give you the shirt off my back untill you stab me more than once.  I know what it means to have a rotten family and then some from 4 sides of the fince poast.  I will be the black sheep out of the family eather way but I have to listen to my heart and soul first before anything. 

The great free hunt starts again

Ok I will admit that I have been kinda slacking on the free stuff hunt over the computer also.  Now as some of you know who read the blog here that I try to be as cheap as possible.  Sometimes it works and other times I just crash and burn becuase, I at times think that I dont need something untill its to late and I used up the last the day before.  I have already started the hunt this morning and will be on and off the computer all day today.  SO of course the computer will play triple duty today for radio, free stuff, and work of course.  There are Live Streems for the radio also.  Anyway if you want to try something new that has came out on the market send out an E-Mail to the company.  The worst they can tell you is buy it and no we are not sending out free samples nor coupons at this time.  It takes a bit of time to do this but well worth the trouble alot of the time.  So off once again to search for the free stuff and see what I can dig up on the internet.

Well dinner was very little

I ate very little tonight.  One burger.  Maybe soup tomarrow night I am not sure yet.  Anyway it was a calm day around here at least with lots of laundery done.  I need to end up at Walmart here for this weekend and a few other stores.  It is bad when you start running out of things in the place.  I will be takeing my coupons as normal.  Some saveings is better than nothing as I say.  Oh well I will start makeing the rest of my list for the store tomarrow.  Along with a few other lists to go for the day also.  With the free stuff from the mail box it does help out around here to stock the place up.  Thanks to the Hippy for finding me some stuff.  Well a full thing from http://www.bettycrocker.com/ also.  Shocking pluss a coupon.  The fun part is you never know what you will find out on the web for free.  When I started looking for free stuff I started looking at things around the place and started typeing in the search box the product.  Most times you can type in something and the web site will come up.  Most of the stuff will be under the promotions buttons sometimes it is right on the first page when it comes up.  It depends on the site.  Sometimes the mail man/lady wants to just beat me becuase he has braught a tote back full of free stuff for me.  He brings it into the can and dumps it where I want it so he or she can have the tote back.  And some I forget that I did ask for the free stuff.  So it is better than just getting Dirty Mail (bills) in the mail.  Not always but there are times where they send out full sized of the product or samples.  Eather way you can try before you buy the product.  I have had enough bars of soap in the place that I diden't have to buy any for about 6 months.  With myself I will let the samples build for when January comes along I do not have to get much at all.  So do the free stuff hunt you may be surprised in what you can find.
