Working on the bills

The past several days I have been loafing off and trying to figure out all the bills for the month again.  And also paying them on top of everything.  I diden't get all the bakeing done since the last time I was on here niether.  Well after I did somethings untill my back said no more afterwards.  So the catch up is that some things got done and the place is pretty clean so I did get some sleep also.  And I did get out some yesterday to do some running for the household.  As I pulled out of the bank yesterday morning (on the N.F. bulve.) I seen 2 dogs cross the main road in the cross walk between where I was sitting at and Millitary Rd.  I started laughing becuase they had no owner walking them and both dogs used the cross walk.  It was the funniest thing watching becuase the cars waited for the dogs to get done and up on the sidewalk then went.  Now normally at 9:15 am there's less traffic out anyway and I am guessing that the loose dogs coulden't wait for thier walk of the morning.  Now for today I really need to clean here and I will be doing my 15 min to 30 min clean times then sit for awhile then start again.  I will be doing alot of the streaching of the cleaning supplies also today force of habbit with me for the can.  Small areas and a bucket for the whole house for the most part.  The flour bomb went off on the counter pluss myself yesterday becuase I needed bread for the can.  Since the hippy likes store bought bread I will do it for the truck.  It makes it a bit easier on me instead of makeing 4 loaves a week.  He also got exctied when he seen the muffins in the bag that I packed for him also.  The muffins that I make came right off the http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ they are so easy and with the basic recipie that Susanne has on there there's 101 ways of fixing them also.  My big THANK YOU to Susanne.  Now back to the bills of course.  I was reading on the bill from Time Warner which I do pay on line that if the bill is over 45 days late they do charge you a 7.00 dollar fee for everyday that you are late.  Things that the head office will not tell you at all.  They will tell you that from the first day it's the 7 dollars.  Well all I can say is read the bills folks and if the reading is a down side have someone read it to you.  IF at all possible start to budle things to save even more money.  Now with the cable company I have cable internet and the house phone all into one bill.  The phone alone for the plan that they offer is 90 dollars pluss if you are not carefull.  Now I do know with Cricket cell phone service they shut the phone off the day after it's due if you do not pay it by the due date.  That is one reason I went with Cricket for this go around.  Pay the bill on line skip the 5 dollar charge and no contracts at all for them.  Every time if I had any questions about the plan they answered them without a problem at all.  So all I am saying save money when you can.  If some companies will knock off money by paying on line go for it.  I save about 50 dollars a month by going paperless and paying on line.  Just please make sure you have fire walls up for the on line bill paying and a few other steps.  And if a company sends out an email that you know that you DO NOT pay for on line or directly out of your account make a phone call and be sure it is ligit before you give out any info.  With the cable modem I do not pay for the AOL connection at all it is a free service.  There are people out there that fish for account numbers at all times and it never hurts to make the phone call and ask questions about it.  Make phone calls and if at all possible pay the bills on line to save time and money.  It could mean that it's extra grocery, vacation, or shoe moneys for the household.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder today.

Sitting here alone again

As I sit here alone the Hippy went back out on the road lastnight to PA once again.  Pretty good he gets home scarfs dinner down and leaves.  Well it's not the first weekend that I spent totally alone.  I may go out to bingo tonight I'm not sure yet.  So now that most of the house is off even though it is the weekend I am so use to haveing nothing on during the week may as well today also.  There is nothing that I really need out at the stores at this point in time.  I may go out during the week for bread for the other kitchen that is being ran.  I can walk for that one at least.  I will be makeing fresh bread for the house as normal.  At least I can spoil the can at least.  Around my place the trick is to keep busy and try not to run up any bills in the place.  So I plan and plot on what to do for each day that I am here alone.  Bakeing at least once a week and do a big bakeing session.  That is the fun part for me at least getting the KitchenAid stand mixer going all day long.  And the Hippy doesen't mind it niether when I start cooking and bakeing all day long along with a few others that the both of us know.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder and I will be bakeing for most of the day.

Shakeing my head again

Ok dinner was pretty good tonight a pork roast out of the crock pot.  For eather tomarrow or sunday I will have BBQ pork.  Leftovers in my house is a must at all times around here.  I will fix at least 2 big meals here for the house on the weekends and leftovers during the week since there is only me in the place.  Some people do not believe me at all if the leftovers do not make it thru the week there is always soup with me.  Or some type of finger food that is easy.  It doesen't take much to make me happy anymore with being cheap here.  It is the small things that count with me now. 

Thinking of today

Before I totally get off the computter for a while here some thoughts on the household today.  During the day I do shut everything off via turning it off and turning off the power strips aslo while I am at it all.  Only thing today is that I will be running the crock pot all day if I dont loose the power otherwise I have the cast iron on the stove top.  Gas range gotta love it turn on the burner with a match.  And if that happends I have to watch Olliver(birdy) for awhile.  I have got lucky I guess so far with haveing alot paid off here in the can.  Eather way I can still cook even if I loose power around here.  The wind has also picked up outdoors.  Water pluss the wind not a good combo on the power boxes around the place.  And here I thought Verison had a mess in the junction box out front.  The power box back here is even worse.  Not nocking the power company at this point in time becuase I can call and get someone out to fix part of the problem right away for the most part.  The poor guys the last time 20hrs out here and the boxes kept throwing sparks.  All of us pulled togeather thank goodness.  And Jack the dog 3 cans over on the next block had it good after we all got power back thanks to his dad.  Throwing a line and saveing the fridge and coffee attacks.  Pluss for light we had the candles out all over the place.  Ok folks I have stuff to do here in my can have fun and play even harder today.

Why he bothers to tell me

The Hippy called me to let me know that 2 tires went bad on the truck/trailer.  My first question was are you getting them fixed????????  You never know when the tires are gonna go bad.  All I could do was laugh and ask why bother to tell me now on a Thursday.  I guess the Hippy wanted a home cooked meal that was hot again.  I never knew that my cooking was really that good in the first place.  Cooking on the cheap and from scratch is sometimes hard.  I never know what to make when the Hippy gets here and he doesen't tell me what sounds good for that night.  So I am thinking of meatloaf for one night then going from there.  Sunday's are a pizza day with football going on.  Or I still have chilli in the big freezer for Sunday.  Like it really matters in what we have anyway around here.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

At least I heard from my cousin

I made a phone call tonight and its good to hear from my cousin Jason as always and have to call him back here.  And I heard my pig tail streaker in the back ground.  All smiles here to hear the babies voice as always.  To wrap my arms around the baby again (almost 4) would make me a happy camper here.  Once you meet the child you would understand why I fell in love with her right away.  A breath of fresh air is what my pigtail streaker is and that's all I can really say about the baby.  In all the crud this child has been thru in her life already I took her under my wing and will have always the soft place to land with the baby girl eather way she turns.  If she can't turn to mema or daddy she has me.  Pluss a good part of Great Aunts also with Grandpa's Sister's who love her as dearly as I do.  Along with her with her Aunt and Uncle.  They are still young and know the dipars are a bad thing.  All I can do is laugh becuase I was Mally's age when her niece was born with my age with my nefew.  At the age of 15.  So I can say that I have been there and done that also.  It still brings a smile to my face for another teen pregnancy coming to light and my cousin better enjoy her niece before long.  Jason my cousins brother is my age and Mally is about 17 years younger than I am.  So the right age of why you shoulden't have babies when you are young.  Mally had the same as I did of why and baby spit up on the shirt at the store just like I did at that age.  So I will start saveing up for my little streaker for new stuff and send it thru the mail just becuase someone has to spoil the child.  A few things here and there never hurt anyone that I know of.  My one sister always got stuff from a place that she worked at while not teaching school.  I rememmber that and appreciated it all for that clothes that fit and shoes.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Turning a new page in life

I have turned a new page in my life around here.  I will be going ultra cheap from now on here just to really t'ee off the family on my dad's side of the family.  I know that my one cousin is over a hundred grand in debt at this point in time.  I am just hopeing she looses the house that she is in at this point by non payment and taxes also.  So now I will be getting more free stuff in the mail and will look for more free stuff to be sent to me and all the pets in the can.  I will tell you the free stuff has helped in the mail being by myself for 5 days a week around here.  I will get the power bill down to practiclly nothing even if it really hurts in the long run now along with a few other things here in the household.  I will say in the past 14 years I haven't asked for no money at all only emotional support from the one side of the family and not my Father's side at all.  My Father's side with his parents was a house of just plain out crap becuase I wasen't blonde at all.  and I dident get pregnant while I was in high school also.  I learned my lesson from my nefew when I was 15 years old.  That babies were no dolls at all they are hard work between the pukeing and the smelly dipars.  SO A BIG THANK'S TO MY SISTER ON THAT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am very sure that the both of us can laugh about it now almost 22 years later.  My nefew was my liveing baby doll and still LOVE him dearly to this day.  So a BIG thank you to one of my older sisters in my life.  All my Mother could do was laugh at the both of us after my Homer was born.  Also no matter what the boy can still call me and say hey can you help me auntie.  Even though I coulden't give him money I do have 2 shoulders to lean on and I do understand what the child is going thru eather way.  So I will be going way cheap becuase of most of my family and seeing what they have done now.  Going into debt when they all diden't have to.  And why I have kept a power bill out there not paid also.  Oh trust me my cousin has tried to get the power/gas bill in my name for years now( in the state of Illinois).  I want to pay the bill off but more than likely wont untill my Father's one sister grows up along with 2 of her children.  And most of us have dissowned My Aunt and 2 OF HER CHILDREN now after all these years.  Darla you are safe with me also kiddo. 

A good laugh today

I told my dad that his mommy ratted him out with another house.  Pluss I reminded him about his mom's bday today.  And what would I do with an extra 1900 square foot in a house.  Enough room for everything is what I am thinking.  Pluss room to get lost in also while I was at it all.  So my father and I were laughing over it over the phone.  I just worry about my Baby Brother and how he is gonna react to the new house of course with him being with Autisum.  It is funny in how us kids are and my baby brother is one of the most normal Men I know around.  As you can tell I love both of my baby brothers dearly and woulden't pass them up eather way now.  And most people don't know why I like red headed folks well look at one of my brothers and you will understand why.  So I pretty much love red hair.  My Dad asked how I was and told him being cheap still.  That will never change around here.  I am just lucky that all the bills went down this month again.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Not much done yesterday

I diden't get much done yesterday.  Even though I did get out for the mail and to the bank.  I got the dishes done and the cast iron pot seasoned also somewhat old trick that my ex hubby always did oil and paper towel and heat the pan somewhat on the stovetop.  So today I need to vacume the place and get all the hair and feathers up pluss pay a couple of bills.  Yes sometimes it is nuts around here as always.  Never dull in my place niether.  Today I may even take a walk to see what I can see and get some fresh air while I am at it all.  That is the fun part about being a truckers wife/housewife.  Pluss I have always use the moto of if I don't get to it today there is always tomarrow to do things.  Like pits and pieces of laundery that never seem to get done on laundery day.  And you can bet that I will be hanging out comfies(comforters) today also.  As I said yesterday I droped my power bill down to $80.09 for the month.  It took alot of hard work and unplugging things during the day and turning things off also.  If you look on National grids site they tell you that floresent lights will help drop the bill by 3%.  I noticed by 5%.  I got the Squeeky bulbs 12yrs ago.  They are the round florecent ones.  I have heard also that some people have had them for over 15 years too.  There are so many ways to cut the bills down that I haven't mentioned yet that I haven't tried them all niether.  One major way is to start makeing phone calls to the companies.  I have done that one over the years for the best plans out there.  Alot of people Do not realize this about the phone, power, gas, cable, and internet saveings.  Most of the times the reps at these places are more than happy to help out and look for the best deals.  A quick call can save you at least 5 dollars a month.  So make that phone call today and see what happends.  Have fun and play even harder.

I am still bringing the power bill down

I am still trying to bring the power bill down to this day and I am waiting for the cops to show up at my place.  It sounds bad but true around this place and day of age.  A 20 dollar drop pluss in the power bill means the growing season is over for pot plants around here.  Now the cops can stick it since I am the only one here 5 days a week and have everything shut off for the most part in the can.  I do somethings every 3 weeks around here like blankets and other things.  And candels are a nice thing 1-4 days a week around here for light in the mornings when the sun has not rissen enough yet for enough light in the can also.  As I have said before I can deal without the power anyway around here.  The taxes and delivery charges on this bill was 57.62 and the useage was 22.47.  So please tell me what is going on besides NY State is money hungery.  So I will tell you unplugging and turning off things does help during the day and a few other things also.  Ok folks I will be back later on.  So have fun and play even harder.

Never said being with an 18 wheeler was right

Ok now I ran by the office today the check should be here tomarrow hand delivered of course.  So today the Hippy had a good laugh even though I have money to pay the insurance as of today.  Ok I never said it was right for me to walk and gas up the van eather way.  I am cheap in many ways eather way and it has been over a month to start catching up around here.  Even though I have been paying bills for the house.  And running 2 kitchens also while I was at it all.  It's more of a pain in the toush than anything.  Finger foods all over and I know the Hippy can have a hot meal by useing the engine of the big rig.  In the same since not everywhere is below freezing niether so I understand in some points.  So I will continue to shop for the lowest prices out at the market.  The Big Super Flea helps so I can get fresh vegies and fruit around here for cheap pluss the cabbage fest helped also.  Where else can I get fresh honey any flavor and veggies and fruits at at this time of year under a hundred miles.  And for cheap on top of it.  I am so ahead of my time for the green planet on some things now.  Even though I don't have the solar pannels and the wood burning kitchen stove yet.  And some things I can still live without on top of it all at this point.  So I really get the last laugh around my place with the neighbors still.  Oh and I finally got told of why the heathins across the street have missed so much school.  Any one with Karoseen anyplace.  Head Lice worce than I have seen since grade school so far.  With the products out there in todays market there is no reason for any child or children for that matter to get them that bad when they are bounceing off thier heads/hair.  Pluss another neighbor seen the boy throw eggs at her place.  I would have got my toush beat and maybe 6 feet under if I was lucky.  That is also part of the problem of todays world the government haveing to much controle and the parents are SOL (Shit Out Of Luck) on it all.  So I urge all parents to take thier Rights back on most children today.  The govenment can't scare you from not punishing your own children PIRIOD now days.  As I was raised with most children is you have to fall asleep sometime.  That is what scared me the most in my house.  The Cast Iron skillets and need I say more.  As I say the person who raised me was from the depression era And thier parents were teated the same way.  I have learned so much from my MOMMA that I am now appreciateing it all now after I left the household.  Her words are you may as well learn it now you may need it later in life.  My Momma was so right in that.  Some of you who read this may rememmber the woman who raised me some wont at all.  I out wheigh everything and plot on everything.  I do this and may go to someplace worse than where I am at now.  So eather way the Hippy was raised the same way that I was and loved his parents like I have with his and mine even though I diden't know his own parents.   That is what happends when you get Married to someone 15 years older than you are.  Even though I still love my ex in laws the both of them will tell you that I was raised right in this life time.  And wishing that I could go back to the 1800's still.  So eather way do what you feel is best raising you'er own kids and everything else.  I can not pass judgement on it all now nor ever in my lifetime.  Just remember the good ole times and in how hard they have had it all and pass it on to your own children.  Pluss keep it simple and cheap while you are at it all.  Have fun and play even harder in life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More cast iron cookwear

Well I am slowly replaceing my old cookwear with cast iron.  I am tired of the non stick coating of the pots and pans that I have here.  And Ultrex discontinued selling the set that I have.  So I will be switching to cast iron piece by piece around here also.  The nice thing about it is that I can put it over an open fire to cook also if need be.  So I shopped around for the best deal that I could find and Ollies did the trick for the 3rd pice that I have.  Once I get the 10% discount card in the mail I will get a couple of more pieces once again.  Pluss it helps with putting food in the Hippys truck also.  Running 2 kitchens is hard and expensive.  Another driver from the same company was complaining that it wasen't working with what is going on.  I am guessing that he is spending more than what is coming in in pay.  All the Hippy could do was shake his head.   I was laughing about it becuase, in fact I was in the middle of Ollie's when he told me about it.  Well bargan racks have always been my friend since I was in High School and I will admit to it now.  Pluss hitting the bargans is not so hard when you you get use to it and change your mind set on things.  Sometimes it is just not right in what I do for the household and it works for me.  Just like I picked up 2 5lb bags of regular whole wheat flour for 99 cents a piece.  Between the brown bread and the puppy cookies I needed it anyway.  Now I know where to get it for $1.50 less than what everyone else wants for it.  And Cherios were $1.99 also for 2 bags in one box. It is knowing the prices of most places and keeping a price book or a mental note on whats what and where.  I do not have a Sams club card anymore so I shop at the regular stores.  Pluss with coupons at most stores anyway.  The fun I have is rakeing the stores over.  There are some people that are better at it than I am still.  But, I am slowly getting back into the swing of things once again.  Haveing a ball trying to also.  I have heard some people behind me in the stores start mummbleing of course oh God she has a stack of coupons in her hand.  Untill they hear the total befor and after in the store most folks cant believe that I can go anywhere from about 5 dollars on up to 50 dollars or more in coupons depending where I am and how good the sales are.  Then I normally get the last laugh of course.  I have done well for the household and will be getting better also here shortly.  And I will be figureing out more here in what to do again.  Pluss I do not have to go shopping for another month except for the 18 wheeler.  I will need regular bread and a few other items of course and I can still walk over to Walmart.  Knowing what is needed and what not to get.  Here in January I will be hitting the Clearence racks again for jeans and other stuff.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Nice ride on Friday

Now normally I do not get out untill Saturday to do something unless I am walking somewhere fairly close.  The Dear Hubby draged me out of the house.  The one main corner down the street from the can is just plain bad anyway and worse with an 18 Wheeler.  So I got out for about 2 hours and felt better after getting back into the van then drove for an hour to get home.  On the way home I had dinner dethawing and diden't cook becuase it was about 8pm when I got home.  So it wasent all bad lastnight we had some slick spots on the road and it is normal for this time of year of course.  Now to start travleing back and forth to Collins and I will be putting the seats back into the van for more weight in the back end and stock up on cat litter also.  Keeps me happy and the poor cat as well.  Tricks of the traid for sloppy snow/ice covered roads.  I learned my lesson while I was going back and forth to Punxey PA almost 4 years ago.  To sum it up I got shook up and major car repairs on top of it and left the garage still staning.  I can laugh about it now and still shakeing my head over it all.  Now for the people to come out this morning to test the water for the can and I know it is not gonna be pretty at all.  The water out here where I am at in NY is so hard that it hurts when I do any travleing.  Pluss to top it off during the year the water smells rancid coming out of the faucet also.  And I know it is the park.  The sewer system has colapsed around here and the main water pipes are going also.  After 40 years I wander why.  So lets see what happends and what gets told to me.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

I am so Luckey for my Bethie and love her dearly and every one of My Best Friends kids is one of my own children. All these people are doing is trashing thier families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people realize it some people don't

Once you are in my inner circle you are in if you are not you are not.  If you are in my family list You are on board .  And the people on board with me in the circle that I have know cross me an pay the price.  Most people understand that I don't blame starveing artist at all.  I am down with being broke and will give advice eather way weather you want it or not.  Once my Hippy and myself we have been broke are selves and I am willing to help or lend a shoulder eather way.  In a way I am like my Mom.  Take my advice take the good points and take my opinion and run with it.  Just like my Sister In Laws "daughter" no relation to nobody in the family this child has always said that I hated her for the past 11 years.  The child got her wish in Febuary.  I'm not gonna put up with a heathin child at all.  I still Love Liberty-Ann dearly even thou I am not gonna put up with the B.S. From her at all.  After all I am the older out of the both of us.  There is the point of time where I will not sit here and say partying and haveing sex is ok when you are under the age of 18 at all.  Maybe I learned early in life thanks to my Dear Sister of why babies are bad news at under the age of  18.  Smelly diapars at 15 to 16 helped out.  Thanks Sis.  My supposad niece hasen't got the hint yet since she is still in H.S.  And a jounior in school.  I know that who she is liveing with hasen't taught Liberty-Ann squat about the Real World yet.  That is what scares me about the Children of todays world.  The Prents and ofther People Who care For these Children Have lost all controle of these Children becuase of the government and CPS or other agentsey of the sort of saying no child you have controle over the school and your parents today.  When the parents pay the Bills and have to let the kids go not in my house.  My thing is there is the door ya think the grass is greener on the other side go for it this is what is gonna happen.  And the child takes nothing walking out the door.  Take back you're Rights as a Parent and go.  Be as cheap as you can be and let your Children know what the situation is if you are broke.  Make the children sit down with you while you are paying the bills and what is coming in and going out.  That is teaching the children responsibility of what is going on in or out of the household.  So Please I am begging you please teach your children of what goes on in the household.  So Please teach your children wisely.   Play safe and hard.

Well now that I am feeling better

Ok I am feeling better about pinching pennies really hard now.  It seems the harder that I pinch the broker the electrition gets now.  Im seeing this in a new light now.  Now what I want to do is try to take what I know to the next level around here and try for the ultra cheap for 5 days a week now.  Since I know I can do this I will have to work on it for weeks to come to get into a way of thinking and makeing it all happen.  It is a rutine that takes practice and work to achieve.  Yes I will still be walking to and from places for the most part during the week and picking up soda cans soda bottles and glass bottles to save up for a kitchen wood burning stove.  It is a slow go for now, but, I will get there of course.  Saveing money is hard sometimes.  I do it one penny and nickle at a time around here.  It all adds up with going cheaper than what I am now.  Pluss streaching everything out to the max here in the can.  So yes I am saveing money by streaching everything out.  Just like the 3 turkeys that I have bought here reacently.  They were on sale.  And fairly cheap to streach the grocery budget.  Since I married a Truck Driver there are times of the year when you end up streaching more than you want to also.  And I have got back into the grove around here to start streaching out everything again.  Some by force only becuase knowing of what happends.  I do not mind being without a car at all becuase it is a long walk to get to work.  I need the excersize anyway and I get to pick up nickles along the way to where I am going to.  Pluss why give NY State extra money when they do not desirve it at all.  A friend of mine today asked how I was manageing so far since he stopped by my place.  I told him straight out streaching out everything makeing pennies scream more than once before I let them go and eating alot of soups, pastas, and rice dishes.  I use less of everything that is called for and shop for the best deals out there that I can.  It takes alot of practice to do this and changeing the mind set in alot of things.  It takes alot of time and reading also to figure what is best for you and your household.  There were times where the Hippy just totally bucked on what I was doing around here that I almost gave up.  I stuck to my guns on alot of it though and now we can both laugh about it and what I had to do to make the household run.  Alot of it now is like second nature to me in shopping the bargin racks at the stores going to the dollar stores and getting meats on sale.  I even went dumpster diveing still do at times.  Pluss being at the right place at the right time to get free products at some places.  There has been struggles and good laughs also along the way also in the past 14 years of me being up here in NY.  I was also asked a couple of weeks ago in how to set up a budget without feeling like they were going without all the time.  I said by not eating out of the vending machines and takeing lunch to work.  Going to the knock off stores to get groceries also helps on the budget instead of where they are going now.  I have several stores that I do go to also.  By choise of course and habbit also.  Ok folks have fun and play harder.

I am suprized that I diden't throw my back out today.  I rearanged the liveingroom to get it ready for the Winter months.  Now to just get the vacume out and get the rest of the dog and cat hair up.  Yes I went ahead and tore thru most of the room today and got things really done.  Even though I diden't do the dishes today and feel lost becuase of it.  I can do them tomarrow for sure and clean the kitchen while I am out there tomarrow morning.  It will not take me long at all maybe a half an hour at most.  Very small kitchen and not enough storage space.  I got really creative on makeing space and odd ball ways of doing it also.  For people who have these huge kitchens it's more to clean.  My kitchen is 12x14 at this point in time.  I have some cabnets but not enough to really say for storage at all.  So what I did was get a storage tote for the canned veggies for the house.  They are out in the kitchen under part of the appliances that I have.  And they are out of the way also.  I also have 3 stand alone cabnets for spices, flour, sugar, cleaning supplies, and extra storage space for other things that I do not use on a daily basis in the kitchen.  Since I do buy 8 bags of flour a month to use for bread, muffins, and other goodies that I make it makes it easier to store in one of the stand alone cabnets.  Then I also have an old T.V. stand at the front door so I can store the parts to the mixer and other bake wear that I use all of the time also.  And alot of it is hid away and looks like the pieces of the stand alones are suppose to be there.  I will admit that I have out grown the tin can all togeather now.  It is all in how and what you do with the small space is all.  I will have to take pictures to show what I mean around a small space.  I know people who have smaller spaces also.  You find ways to store things that you never knew that you could put something in or under.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Leftover madness

I had leftovers on Monday.  They are and were better than when I had cooked them on Saturday and Sunday.  Since there is only me myself and I here at least 5 days a week I do not cook as big as I would with the Hippy here.  I just do not like cooking for one anyway it is way hard to plan that unless it's finger food or soups and or leftovers from the weekend.  The Electrition that I know up here refuses to eat leftovers period.  Gee my Ex-Husband dident mind them at all when I would make enough for a couple of days.  Then again the Ex diden't try to act rich niether at all.  So yes in some ways I will stick up for him in others I just can not.  Some leftovers are just plain out better anyway the next day.  I know homemade chilli,sauces, and soups are always better.  Along with Crock Pot roasts.  It is one of them things that you just cant beat up on leftovers.  Pluss you can doctor up leftovers also.  So be creative and get a couple of meals out of one cooking or pull it back to the freezer for another meal down the road.  I have been known to pull back 2 days worth of meals off of one meal and when I would get one of them weeks of just pure crazyness I knew I had a couple of meals that I could pop out of a container and put it in a pan and into the oven and 20 min later there was a meal for 2.  Now what my Nieces Mom In Law does is what ever is left over she wraps up the food in singal servings and there's a ready meal for her or a guest in her house.  SO eather way you do the leftovers jazz them up or eat them like they are.  I have been known to make chicken salad from a whole bird that was cooked on Saturday or Sunday and eat it on tortella shells or homemade bread.  Then there is always other ways to do chicken also that is left over.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

What a weekend

This has been a long weekend around here again.  There's another pile of dishes waiting on me to get them done and they can wait untill tomarrow.  And the place looks like a disaster went off around here.  I sat down and clipped coupons for this morning.  Between the house being a disaster area and myself being totally tired from cooking all weekend for the Hippy and a bit of shopping that I did I am totally done for the day.  I did have over 7 dollars today in coupons not the best that I have done and not the worst niether.  I have to get into the swing of things again for the coupons.  Well Monday is another day to get things done around here.  While everyone is out of the can.  At least the big freezer is packed full of food along with the little freezer out in the kitchen on very little money of course.  Sales and coupons are a wanderfull thing with me.  Pluss theres 3 big turkeys in the big freezer.  What else can I say I have heat I have gas to cook with unlike some people I know around the park and other areas also.  And it will get chilly tonight of course.  Since the weather is changeing like this in early October I tend to listen and watch more.  I know there will be at least 4 feet of snow on the first dumping this year.  Just one of them feelings of course.  So I blocked up what I could so far and will be doing more to save on the gas and power bills again this year.  Today was somewhat chilly but not bad enough to say I needed a heavy jacket on yet.  Pluss I grabed the heavier insolated sweat jacket out of the van before it went out to Collins.  So I will be washing more blankets here shortly also so everyone can keep warm here in the can.  This is what I get for haveing a drafty place.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Laughing at the power company

Ok now I have been doing several things during the day to cut the power bill down for the past several weeks here.  I have unplugged and havent ran hardly anything during the day.  The main problem is the power plant is right down the street here and my power bill is still huge.  My rates were cheaper in Illinois and the taxes are more than the actual bill its self up here in NY State.  Eather way I will be cutting and slashing 5 days a week now around here and will do even more cutting and slashing in the time to come.  It takes some new habbits of course and banging my head a whole lot.  I have been dealing without T.V. for most of the day.  If I go past 7am in the morning it feels wierd to have the computer and T.V. on past that Monday thru Friday now.  And talk about power strips all over the can around here and there's at least 5 of them to turn off here.  Ok it drives everyone just plain nuts around here when they see the appliances unplugged.  The one electritions can not understand of why I do things like that.  I ask him to pay the power bill and he says he doesent live here so he wont(also the man likes to bounce checks and not pay his own bills).  Spend thrift on his part and hanging out with his parents for to long.  His Parents God love them for working thier tails off and giveing thier kids everything and then some.  So I will try to be as cheap as I can and go from there and just try to drive everyone else batty over it so I can live within our means if not less at all possible.  If that means by not running hardly anything so be it now.  And the water bill did fall by 20 dollars this time.  After I raised cain at the water company.  I am useing even less water now than I was for 3 months ago.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

I finally got out again

I got out again for about an hour yesterday morning.  I had to pay some bills again and without a car to go in I walked all over.  I also picked up another 20 cents while I was out of the house on my walk.  It was so nice out that I almost peeled my jacket off also.  Why I diden't was what my mother always told me if it is chilly when you first walk out without a jacket then you keep that item on.  Well after the cabbage fest and cooking enough soup I finally got sick of soup for this week.  Part of what was left was pulled back and put into the deep freezer.  I can only deal with so much cabbage before I start pay for it.  Now I have to wait for awhile for my system calms down before I can eat more of the cabbage now.  I can really say that my Grandmother wanted some over the phone also when I called her yesterday.  The poor woman is no spring chicken anymore and she has had the flu for the almost a week.  The flu season has hit very early everywhere this year.  As our mom's told us wash your hands constantly and a few other things to prevent on illnesses.  Anyway at least when Winter hits I am hopeing some of the flu bugs get away from everyone.  Now I know why alot of the older folks sit out in the winter time now.  Ok so it takes me a bit to realize what goes on and why.  Also why I love my soup and stew dishes around here.  And chicken soup will be made today again.  Well I picked up 3 chickens at the store on Saturday when I did have the van.  I eat while I am alone but smaller meals if that makes since.  It is still hard for me to cook for just me.  So lots of leftovers around here during the week depending on if it is a favorite in the house hold.  Another good thing about the Big Freezer is that I can cook and put alot in there and pull something small out during the week.  That is the bad part around here.  Maybe not since I am not going out to eat and spending money that way.  I think that's why the Hippy keeps me around for my cooking.  Ok folks have fun and play harder I have to start cooking for tonight.

Ok now that I have Begly somewhat beat

I feel sorry for Rocheshelle on some things that her hubby does around the house.  I think I have Ed just totally beat now around my place.  My own Hippy and myself do not fight on everything here in the house on anything.  NO OARNGE BERRELS IN MY YARD.  Tea cup roses and ladith takes care of that one if anyone did.  Pluss the new season of Liveing with Ed starts tomarrow on the green planet.  I have to laugh at Ed and Rochelle becuase I am Being frugal down right cheap at times also.  Ok Ed please top my cabbage soup from today in the solar oven that you have.  Well why put solar pannels on the can now.  I want to get out of here not stay here.  So when I do get a house instead of the can I will get solar pannels and a few other things.  I am still saveing nickles for the kitchen wood burnner for the new place.  When the Hippy and I get it of course.  I haven't stopped dreaming of the wood burner/coal heater for the new place.  Also it is extra heat and extra cooking space for the new place when we get it.  And I plan on going extra ultra cheap for the house and wood/coal heater for the place.  200 dollars is way to much for groceries for the household in my book.  In the same since most was meat for the next 3 months also.  So eather way I can not complain about it.  At least I have food in the household and no complaints on what I cook now.  The poor Hippy cringed when I said over the phone that we all have cabbage soup today and the next week.  Oh well have fun and play even harder.

The cabbage fest went well

The cabbage fest went very well on Sunday.  I had a ball sitting there watching the camera when I was there for the band Eletric Rodeo.  First time of working the camera for the day and not knowing what to do when to do it it's alittle shakey but I am hopeing for the best.  The 15 pound cabbage was my prize find of the day for 5 dollars.  So I am makeing cabbage soup as of 10am this morning.  It is smelling so good right now that it's not even funny.  The recipie came out of one of the booklets I picked up from Ft. Niagara in Youngstown NY when some of my family came up to see me 3 years ago.  It is a great educational tool around here besides the falls in the city here.  Along with Smokein Joes with thier museum in the smoke shop also.  I still like to walk around for an hour over there to see whats new and a few other places also.  The Cabbage Fest was free in Ransomville NY on Sunday to get in and pay for food and if you wanted anything from the other vendors also.  It was such a nice setting in the Ransomville firehall parking lot that I will not complain about it at all with family orianted stuff to do.  Once I get some video from the fest I will post that here of course.  I forgot my camera of course never fails with that becuase I wanted pictures of everyone includeing myself.  Well I do have a picture of the head of cabbage that was baught on Sunday and I will post that at a later date so you can see how huge this thing was.  It was still worth the money for it and then some.  The Eletric Rodeo is on http://www.facebook.com/ I know the band members well and LOVE them as my own family.  A bunch of wanderfull people in the band.  Ok folks before I go to much farther here I have more work to do around the house.  So have fun and play even harder.

Realizeing that I am lucky

Ok now I am realizeing that I am lucky around here.  Now I know I have been picking and chooseing the cheap ways of life since I am alone around here.  And without children in the house I can pick up and go at any time that I do want.  I am glad that the state of PA diden't send a child my way that wasent even related to me nor the Hippy.  The quick run down is that the girl was a welfare scam from the time she was born.  I was willing to take the girl in if she could behave in my household and learn the life skills that she needed to know for the real world or at least to give her a head start on the real world one.  Eather way this girl who is now 18 years of age has did nothing but lie about me and others who cared about her and now I want nothing to do with her after she became of age.  Now it has been a slow process for myself to be cheap and or frugal in this world and I have started young.  On top of it I have been on and off the computer for 5 days a week that I have been by myself for the past month and a week.  I have cut my power bills down of course by cutting as much power as I can and a few other things during the last 6 months.  Pluss now the 170 that I spent for Wegman's and Walmart for the next couple of months on meat.  I will be set on soups and stews for a while.  And a big THANKS to the Eletric Rodeo for draging me out of the house on this past Sunday for the cabbage fest also.  A 15 pound cabbage is a wanderfull thing for the recipie books that I have.  I will make soup and or cabbage rolls out of it also.  Now that I am thinking of cutting even more corners around here so I can get out of the trailer park and away of the kids across the street that need the shock collars around thier necks also.  Now with myself and the Hippy we have been collecting cans and bottles for my kitchen wood burner stove and I am being ultra cheap now with what I do around here so we both can get out of here and a new start with out a forwarding address to the next place.  So anyway have fun and play even harder.

They credited my account

Corperate did credit my accout for thier screw up for Tracphone.  I will NEVER go back to tracfone again after that ordeal.  I am not the only person the screwed with niether.  Go with another company for pre paid phone service.  Well it also helps when you get corperats phone number also.  I think the FCC and a few other places will be called also while I am at it.  And why did the states hook up with the tracfones anyway for the welfare people I have no clue.  I am not knocking the welfare system at all when some folks really need health care and food in the house.  I am knocking the folks that have refused to go out and get jobs and sit there on the system though.  Oh well I guess that has been going on for years now and I can't stop it by myself.  Maybe that's why I did what I have had to do to support the household in any way shape or form that I have had to do.  By streaching out everything to the max and going dumster diveing when things were really tough.  I am still streaching out everything as much as possible still to this very day so I do not have to crash course on it and go ultra cheap at all.  Ok before I go any further than that I will get back to the house work before it gets to late around here.

I am enjoying the quietness

At this point in time I am really enjoying the peace and quiet around the can.  The kids will not be outside today becuase of all the wet sloppy weather out in the open.  Well October came in with a bad attitude it will go out even worse by the end of the month.  I am hopeing for NO ice storms this year.  I would rather walk in 4 feet of snow than walk in ice anyday.  Pluss it gives me a chance to start really useing the oven now.  This morning it was 37 outside already and its only the 2nd.  So yes I have to move somethings around so nothings blocking the vents again for winter.  The windows are blocked up most of the way and I will be blocking off the front room this year.  I am planning for a hard winter this year again also.  And since I diden't get the cieling fixed over the summer I am going to block off the front of the can with a sheet at least so no drafts come thru the kitchen via that way.  And my list is growing by the day to get things done around here also.  I need to do all the sheets and blankets that are up at the windows again before winter hits again.  By doing that it seems warmer in here becuase I really hate to say this Mobial Homes are drafty if you havent lived in one before.  Yes I block the windows as much as possible around here to stop the drafts as much as possible.  Now I do know some people who got thier natural gas shut off during the summer months.  First  one dident even attemt to pay on the bill so they shut it off on the person.  The next one has been slowly paying the bill off and, she hasent been able to get the gas turned back on at her place.  I do put my foot down on paying the bills first before I go to the store or any place else to get anything.  Guess I got lucky that I have been good in that habit.  Yes I did get the furnace going instead of running the space heaters for the 2 rooms like I was doing.  The Hippy had to close off the damper to the A/C unit before I could fire up the furnace anyway.  At least I do know how to turn on the furnace around here.  And have had to show other people while I was on the road so much a couple of years ago.  So now to start cleaning again and blocking stuff off even more today.  Have fun and play even harder.
