About ready to start slashing big here

If I could live without power at this poing it would be all good around here.  Part of the joys of looseing the power so much you learn ways aroung alot of stuff to start in on doing.  Pluss there is the candel shelf in the one holding center that I have.  Tells you in how many times I have lost power up here.  So eather way if I could I would go without.  Anyway I have to cut something out and I am thinking of the land line again.  I have the computer and the cell phone going.  And I can really deal without T.V. also.  I despize both to a point.  Well I can say you can get the news over the computer thru live streaming.  They finally got with it up here in Buffalo.  They call this civilized living up here when it is not half the time.  Thats the funny part of it all.  Oh and Verison is back in the neighborhood again for the first time this week.  The trunk line is shot around here in the park.  That is one reason I had droped Verison is that they would not fix the problem in the phones.  So I ended up with Time Warner for everything and it has been up more than down.  That is the nice part of the cable lines.  Now to pick up the mess that I did last night.  Have fun and play hard.

never board around here

Well I can say that I am never board here in the can.  I am just very tired at this point trying to find a job.  And the hardest part is the wait for the interview in my book.  So I have started to make a list for things to be even cheaper on.  Now to just get alot of things done on the list of course.  So now it will be the just doing part and sticking to my guns for the what to do list.  Now that will be the hard part of everything and getting others to agree on stuff for the house.  So eather way people are not gonna like me at all around here.  So I will realy start for the free stuff hunt on the net to see what I can come up with and lower all the bills around here also while I am at it all.  It will go hand in hand for a very long time of course.  Or at least untill the new habbits set in around here.  So it looks good with alot of stuff but you never know what to expect on any given day.  So I will start everything out as not spending hardly anymore for the house unless I really have to.  Then go from there also.  At least I am stocked up on alot of stuff for the can.  So eather way I will have to run a tighter ship with alot of things around here for the bills going out again.  I will get the bills down eather way even if it all kills me in the long run around here.  So eather way I will let you know how it goes and what I have done to cut the bills down.  Have fun and play hard.

Big hit yesterday

The cake went faster than I could hollar that I wanted a piece of it.  So the party went off without a hitch and I dident drop the sun tea yesterday niether.  So now today I get to sit around and fill out applications becuase the working from home is not hacking it anymore.  And I will find the balance of work and home once again when I do get a job outside of the can here.  It will be rough untill I get into the swing of things once more of course but it is well worth it.  Just to keep my sanity going.  Now to find out what kind of trouble I can get into other than sitting here on my toush all day.  I may take a walk here shortly to clear everything out of my mind.  I am so thankfull anyway on so much around here that I can see that things need to be done and they won't today.  So the main goal is to see what I can do for today and be somewhat lazy over it.  Ok folks have fun and play hard today.

The cake is in

The cake is in the oven.  It is not bad for the first run on the recipie.  Lets see in how it turns out tonight.  Pluss I will be makeing a chocolate cake also for myself.  One wanted yellow and I wanted chocolate so guess what we both win today.  The pen is still in the base of my pony tail so I can check off the list I have for the moment.  At least I will not loose it this way.  So I will let you know in how much of a hit the yellow cake went over.  Then it had to rain today also.  All I can say is bummer.  At least I will have people over and the Electrition to share the b-day with.  Along with his wifes daughter same b-day as mine.  This could be fun with all 3 of us within 2 days.  Well within the matter of minuts I got the taters and onions done pluss one of the cakes is cooling.  Pluss the trip to Walmart dident hurt as bad as I thought it would.  46.60 for the bill not includeing the .60 that I had in bottle returns(that wasen't all of them).  So 46 dollars later and I have everything for the party tonight and tomarrow.  Like that's a bad thing.  And that is the dollar fifty that I picked up in cans also for today and tomarrow for the beer.  So I guess it isen't as bad as I thought it would be for today.  Going shopping always did scare me in some ways.  The trick is DO NOT TAKE ANYONE WITH YOU.  I found out the hard way with my ex hubby and the hippy now.  Sometimes all I can do is shake my head.  And I still forget stuff at the store.  Then there is always more in the cart also by the time I leave the stores nomatter where I go with someone.  So most of the run was for myself and food for others in the household.  The one bullet of ground meat was on sale today so there are the burgers then of course I had to buy the heat doggies while I was there (hot dogs).  Much cheaper than the chain stores around here for the same thing.  The BarS Hot Dogs are good.  They are cheaper than most but that is ok by me.  instead of 2 for something it is 88 cents for a package of 8 heat doggies.  Pluss they taste better than the name brand stuff out there.  It may be a northern thing not sure as of yet.  So have fun everyone and play harder.

Another year older

Another year older as of tomarrow.  And I am throwing another party maybe today.  It will be on the frugal side of things of course.  And over the years I have realized who in the heck needs a cake mix when I can make a cake from total scratch.  It's not like I do not have everything here in my can to make it.  So now to just get up off my duff to do something about it all.  Two cakes for two differant people I can handle it.  After the party of 90+ people I got cracking at in June of this year.  If I had my hand in the buying for the party my aunt would not have spent as much as she did niether.  It was wild from the time I walked thru the door at her place to the time I walked out.  It was all good fun also.  It is one of the aunts I really like also so it made it all the better going and doing.  I guess that's what I get for throwing parties all summer long at the can.  So now to also make the homemade burgers also along with tater salad and a few other things.  Anyway I better get off my toushie and do something.  So have fun and play even harder.

Laughing again

I finally drove the electrition to almost insanaty today.  Well what can I say except he thinks I am way over the line of being totally cheap.  I threatined to take the cans in for the birthday cake.  His wife thought it was down right funny and about fell out of her chair.  Ok so I never clamed to be right in the being down right frugal part of life.  I have to remind him every so often that I can do things cheaper than he can and mean it.  So eather way the cake for the double bday will be made this year of course.  Ok now you will find out that I can bake and like to bake.  I figure why get a cake thats all dry and just plain nasty from the stores up here when I can make it better out of my own kitchen.  The trick is I dont over bake it and who needs toothpicks to tell if it is done when it starts pulling from the sides of the cake pan then it is done.  Anyway at least I havent been bothered to much with the neighbors as of yet so it is all good.  Ok folks have fun I have to run out to Walmart to get a few things so play hard and be safe.

Almost done with housework

The day is almost done and I have been busy with alot of housework that I have been ignoring over the past few days.  I have been Decluttering every place around here.  What is even funnier is that the can looks worse than when I started.  So I have alot of work to put stuff pack int its place.  And that is ok at least I know in what I have again.  Pluss I am getting all the winter stuff out also while I am at it.  So yes I had enough laundery to choke the worst horse with on top of it all.  So while I was trying to decluter the kitchen Oliver desided to start barking.  All I could do was laugh.  So I have a barking bird now.  I knew he would fit right on in with the other 2 fur balls.  Ok now to get everything back into its place and go from there.  Have fun and play even harder.

Not much today

Not much going on around here today at least.  I can not wait till the snow flys around here.  Here in October of course.  So now it is just cool weather out here 62 out here today.  Which is very unusual for this time for Augest.  In the same since at least I am not poping alergy meds like candy being up here in NY.  So now I get to start weatherizeing the Tin Can for the winter months.  Pluss to dig out the heavy comforters out of the bins.  At least I get back part of my closet during the winter to store other things.  So yes I still have alot of work to do other than traiding stuff from the closets.  There's still laundery to do and other things to go along with traiding for the Summer months to the Winter months around here.  I at least try to hang heavier blankets up at the windows once it gets chilly enough.  Now I do have space heaters that I did use at the werehouse.  Before the doors closed.  One will be near the Bird of course for when it gets real bad out.  It is really wierd in how blocking off the windows keeps the place eather warmer or cooler depending on what time of the year it is.  Oh and since i do not have a concreet pad under the can since it isen't per code for some trailers around here everyone gets to plug in heat tape.  Now for new Cans coming into the park they have to have pads under them.  There is such a thing as a freak twister up here even.  Oh well at least I could always get picked up and put into a better neighborhood.  So lets see what happends this winter.  The worst is I get to pack the house up during the winter and move.  Like I haven't done that before in my life.  And at least it is not like i did for someone when thier sister passed on in another state.  That was fun driveing the back roads with ice and snow with a fully loaded van.  I can still laugh about it today.  Thank goodness I am still that spit fire.  Some things never change from when I was a teenager.  I just know what and when to do something and to plot more now.  I think it comes with age and experiance.  Just like cutting corners in the household.  And getting to do things somewhat your own way.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Another long night

Well I just threw out visitors from my place.  People from a good band The Eletric Rodeo.  The name says it all.  I will have to snap some pictures the next time we are all out togeather.  The long night is kicking in of course becuase of to much stuff to get caught up on again.  I may just get some sleep and do everything tomarrow so I don't wake up the neighbors as normal.  Ok folks have a good one and play hard.

Now to do more

Ok now that everything is alomst unpluged again.  And I did find out that I am cheaper than most of my family on one side.  Since I do not have a mortgage pament.  I am doing the happy dance around here.  And all I can and still do is laugh about it all now.  I finally surpassed my Father also on being cheap.  I got a nice flier in the mail for my supposad aunts Birth day coming up.  I will NOT BE GOING to it with such short notice.  Pluss my Bday is before hers and I REFUSE to break traditions with my elecrition whos Bday is the next day.  So with that being said I will stay home.  Now with being cheaper than my Father.  There is alot that he diden't know about myself being as frugal as I am.  And no I haven't said a word about going to the auction on this past Saturday.  Well there is alot that I do that he dident realize that I have done.  Like with the cans first then the dryer sheets with cutting them in half.  My aunt about had a fit over that one when I cut it in half in front of her.  Then like the bargin racks that I so do appreciate also at the stores.  I have it down to a sience in the stores.  Of what and when to hit.  There are so many things that I have done to save money that it is not even funny anymore.  I have even used the dryer sheets that have been thru the dryer for dust rags also.  Another good thing is with the dryer sheets they are a good skeeter repelant also.  I have also saved bread bags when I was buying loves of bread.  It came in handy when I broke my 3 fingers in one shot at work.  So I could still do dishes when I could grab something again.  Who knew about some things.  The bread bags also make great dirty diaper holders when you are on the run in the car or in the diaper bag.  Becuase you can put one in then tie a knot in it for the next diaper.  It will hold at least 4 diapers in one shot.  Well it is one of the tricks to haveing kids also.  I can really laugh sometimes about it becuase there's so much that can be reused then recycled after 101 uses of things.  Like the empty gallon plastic icecream containers.  I have one for line pins, one for dirty dish rags, then one for old bird seed.  It is the stuff that Oliver doesent like.  They come in handy for Barbie shoes also.  Pluss alot of other uses.  So think about ways to reuse something in the household and the bargin racks at the stores.  You will go alot further than what you think you can.  Spice it up also.  Have kids redecorate it as a project even to give it a new flair.  You will be surprized in what they can come up with also.  Ok folks have fun and play harder.

Today is a new day

Today is the new day of being frugal or cheap however you look at it.  The 2nd load of laundery is in the washer and the first load is already up on the line.  I almost ran out of stuff to wear again.  So I may as well do laundery while it is nice out so I can hang it all out side and save 20 dollars again this week if not more for not useing the dryer.  Almost everything is unpluged and or off at this point in the morning.  The hippy had a late night here.  So now I get to Do what he dident do which is unpluged what he used.  And I am really thankfull that I did pick up the crafe about a year ago.  The coffee doesent get burn from sitting in the coffee pot for more than 2 hours.  Most times it is shorter becuase I wait till it gets done perking and dump it into the crafe.  So I go thru less coffee that way.  So now it is the point in the matter I already watched the news this morning and I can have the T.V. off till noon.  Then Paula Dean comes on.  Oliver gets mad if he can not watch her.  Eather way I somewhat loose but not all togeather.  At least I can work on other stuff while he is watching his Miss Paula.  So now to find ways to really get this place motivated enough to get myself even cheaper around here.  It is gonna get wierd for a bit around here till I can really get back into the swing of things of course and alot of hollering and then guess what I win.  It is well worth the arguments also.  To start saveing money on all the bills is well worth the battles.  I have all florecent bulbs in my place.  And some are the compact ones.  Now I have only replaced 4 light bulbs since I switched over.  The one I have had to change was in the bathroom.  Other than that in the past 12 years that I have switched over I havent changed one other than the bathroom light.   If you have the Green Planet on your cable hook up Ed was right on the compact floecent lights.  When you catch his show YOU will LOVE it.  I feel sorry for his poor wife at times and can understand why she flips out at times also.  All I can say is Ladith and tea cup roses to hide the very ugly berrals that Ed picked up.  So yes there is a point to where you have to be tastefull about being frugal and green.  Just like with myself is it really worth getting a cheap hand mixer and go thru it once a month or get a good Kitchenaid mixer and you know it will last longer.  Ever since I got the Kitchenaid I have not threw sparks nor had a mixer go on me.  It was well worth the 200 dollars that I spent on it.  So now I can say that the 200 dollars will last over 20 years if not longer.  So it is a good envestment for anyone about ready to go out on thier own or a newly wed also.  I always look at the cost effectivenss in all that I do.  IF it will save me money in the long run by golly I will do it.  Sometimes all of us have to think things thru to the point is this going to cost me more in the long run or is it going to cost me less.  Now with that being said I may have 2 - 3 bleach loads every 2-3 weeks.  It depends on how many towles, socks, and white undies are there for that amount of time.  Since I did go with the bigger washer thanks to GE for the past due delivery date.  I can stick more stuff into the washer.  Now my old washer would really leave water all over.  And that is if you diden't watch it.  I may as well say it was all of the timers on it.  I am hard on washers to be honest.  With the H E washer it has saved on the power bill when I do use the dryer.  I can not say it for the water bill yet.  I think there is something wrong with the outside meter on that.  I havent really fought with the water company on that as of yet and stressing yet.  Not when most of the neighbors are useing more water and charged less for it all still to this day.  So now to get that done within due time again.  Now for the laundery still I say only half to a quarter in what they say to use for the soap on the container.  Even when I was working at the computer place a quarter of the cap full of the deturgant got everything out.  And I got real dirty from that place.  Go with what you like in the laundery deturgant and use less and see what happends.  The less you use the further it goes and the less you have to buy at anywhere you pick it up at.  It works out to your advantage.  Pluss it saves your closet also.  So eather way you save money.  Ok folks I have to do more house work and laundery have fun and play harder. 

Got the pets today

Well Oliver is mad at me today after his toenails got cliped.  He got over it pretty quick though.  I picked Oliver back up and he was a little shakey till he realized that nothing was gonna happen.  Poor bird he does not like his feet messed with at all for now.  Pluss Annie brough a good portion of her toys out to the kitchen also to make Oliver feel better.  At least nobody got snappy in the kitchen while the bird was out.  The 3 rings have broke lose today though it was funny.  Nah none of the animals are spoiled in my house ok they are.  Ann has her 2 toy boxes Oliver has his purches and Gar has her catnip mouse.  Imagin a cat who loves organic cat nip.  The other she doesen't touch.  All 3 are spoild.  Well at least they are happy around here.  The cat who is the cheap one doesen't care what food it is as long as it is food.  Anyway the windows are still open for now.  It is gonna get chilly tonight.  So all of the windows will get closed and I already have the space heater out for the kitchen.  Thank goodness I have plugs under the one counter top.  It wont cost any extra for the space heater going around here.  Well it will get down around 45 tonight if not cooler.  So at least I can do some things to keep everyone warm in here.  The fun will begin tomarrow morning of course.  And I can keep a small space warm let me tell you.  Ok lets see what I can fold tonight for tomarrows big laundery day tomarrow.  Hve fun folks and play hard.

So much free stuff out there

Now I am always thinking of ways to save money and try to be dirt cheap out there.  Then it dawned on me like a really nasty habbit.  There are alot of ree printables out on line.  Like free printable calanders, coupons, menu planners, and so on.  One good site is http://www.thefrugalshopper.com/.  There are even free paterns on the net also.  I pick and choose anyway becuase that is how I am.  Now for free recipies I pick and choose also.  If it seems expensive it really is.  I do not go for fish recipies at all.  I can laugh becuase I have a 3 ring binder for all of my recipies that I have printed out so far.  Even now I am still running out of room for the prined things.  Ok so I like the veriaty in the house.  There are even printed out shopping lists so you can wright stuff down for the household.  Some people chastize me for useing my printer so much.  They also like eating over at my place also.  Well with good food coming out of my kitchen and they cant believe I tweeked out a recipie like I did.  Alot of people have stoped coming over as well since I have got cheaper within the the past 3 years also.  Becuase I turn off lights, unplug almost the whole house, and started useing less things.  I really enjoy the fact of streaching everything out and makeing people mad that walk into the house that I am doing it my way instead of thier way.  Well what can i say I still go after the shock value after all of these years.  Pluss not only that the cheaper I go the better off I am also.  And I am not going out to blow paychecks on things that I don't have as a want.  I pay the bills first then whats left is for groceries and other things.  I will prevail to get cheaper around here soon.  Have fun folks and play harder.

Well I somewhat got out last night

Found 10 cents in the mall parking lot last night .  I can get to the mall when it closes and see how much I can get tonight also.  Well being so close to the border some Canadans don't care what they do on this side of the border.  Thier loss is someone elses gain of course. Anyway I am guessing that the staffing company is just haveing a harry coniption fit at the moment.  It started raining early this morning and has been misting ever since.  The droped server dident do me well for my hand.  And yes it happened about 6 years ago but the finger tips on my left hand are very very painfull.  I refuse to lay down and go for the disablement for my hand.  I do not want to take the lazy way out at all.  I will work till I can no longer work anymore.  So now tonight I will hit the one neighborhood for the cans tonight.  And lets see how well this turns out.  Now for alot of people they will not do what I am about ready to do at all.  I know some people who pick up the cans,plastic,and glass bottles and work a part time job.  And they have enough money to go thru life and then some.  So I will start that part of my life of picking up the recycleables and see where this all goes to.  If you want to say that's nasty go for it.  There's soap and water and a few other ways to keep my hands clean.  Some States charge a dime in deposits some are a nickle and others do not.  There are rcycleing centers all over the state of Illinois.  They give you the weight price of the cans.  So depending on where you are at it pays eather way to get money out of the cans.  I am starting to get into the swing of things of getting cheaper again.  In todays world where most people have to have a 2 income household just to make it.  Not here in my house.  Part of up and down with jobs and being on unenployment with me I have learned to not go out and get everything that I want.  So I work with a real tight budget at times and thats ok by me.  So if you have kids you can tell them NO and they wont melt nore die from it.  They may throw a tantrum and go into a melt down mode over it.  Once they realize that the meltdown doesent work any more they stop that.  Or if the children start paying for stuff out of thier own pocket they get what and how money works.  Another thing is to ask the children to sit there while you are paying bills for the month.  You tell them this is what we have and this is what has to go out and ask them in how much groceries cost also.  Now for todays parents it is a double edge soward with kids becuase they don't understand some things.  As my Mother says children need to be taught some things and others they dont.  Now my Mothers Mother use to say that children are heathens untill they are taught differantly.  While I was small I was always greatfull in what I got wheather it was food to whatever they gave me.  I have not lost that part at all.  The old saying is if your friends jumped off the bridge would you go jump also.  That always ment in my eyes DO NOT KEEP UP WITH THE NEIGHBORS AT ALL.  You will loose every time.  So with that being said I don't keep up with anyody at all.  It is hard enough to keep myself togeather.  You can admire other peoples stuff.  Just rememmber you can save up for things for a later point if you really want it.  So by that time you may not want that item by the time you save up for it.  Then go from there.  Ok folks have fun and play harder.

Haven't made it out yet

I havent made it out yet tonight.  And that is ok by me.  I have one of them feelings as normal.  So I will more than likely go to bed tonight.  The kids around here are suppose to be in now since it is after 10 pm.  The Town Clowns won't do a thing to the kids here in the park.  Oh well maybe if things go right I won't be here for much longer in the park.  That was part of the reason for the can pick up over in the good neighborhood tonight.  Oh and the heap picking as I call it.  Giggleing now about that.  I pick some things out that I know I can clean with alittle cleaning solution.  That is the funny part.  When I first got here I ended up with several things that were good still and others were throwing out.  Like book shelves, tables, end tables and a few other things that could be an easy wipe down.  Even shelves that I could put up in the spare room for extra storage.  It was wild let me tell you.  I survived it all and did what I had to do to furnish the place.  And if it wasent for some and a quick phone call to get chairs for eather the kitchen or liveingroom I would have been stuck on the floor.  I still somewhat go looking but not like I use to.  The poor garbage guys really dont like me at times still to this day.  After my last desk I dont blame them what so ever at all.  It was a toe and knee breaker along with leaving pretty good brusis.  It got to where It was bigger than my main living area.  I had to throw it.  It was heavier than the recliner set that I have in the living room.  So now I am trying to cut down on alot of stuff in the household that I hardly use anyway.  That reminds me I have to clean the arm of the sofa sometime tomarrow.  Messy male bird.  And I will start covering the sofa also from now on.  New sheets are a wanderfull thing if they are for free.  I have more King flat sheets than fitted.  And I refuse to do what I did in the hotel rooms for some of them.  What a pain that was.  So now I can honestly say I have did the double flat sheet to make a bed up.  It worked at least and the one head of house hold asked where I learned how to do something like that I told her never mind I don't give out secarets like that.  Ok folks have fun and play hard.

Meatloaf again

Well another meatloaf will go in the oven when I get off my toush and make it.  Pluss I got a phone call From the staffing company.  About 12 hrs before the shift which is more notice than what they gave me the last time around.  I said that I couldent becuase of the fine work and With the 3 fingers after the break that I had did I am no good with little parts anymore.  I will admit that I have a hard time seeing stuff also thats small even with glasses on or in.  I know what they are doing also in the same since.  I would rather be dirt cheap than get treated like dirt any day of the week.  And yes I did say that.  So now a really big desissions have to go on with myself.  Pluss I want a more stable yes you are working tomarrow and next week.  Instead of day to day hour to hour.  So I have started really looking after the swing midnight shift.  Not only that I can make it with really being cheap and alot of other things also.  That is one thing about myself I can make the best of the situation.  Now I am not totally broke or destatude at all.  I don't have to run down to the welfare office at all niether.  It is in how you budget and cut the things you want out and wait for it.  I learned very quick what is a need and a want awhile back.  It was hard at first till I did get use to it.  A need is food.  A want is a brand new car or house.  So eather way I will win at this point no matter what goes on.  I have lots of options still open on to working out of the house.  Anyway now the loaf is in the convection oven.  I make it like a big burger anyway with wostersire sauce and stake sauce.  Pluss I put onions, bread crumbs, and 2 eggs.  Then bake at 350 for about an hour.  I will check on it if it isen't done then stick it back in.  And I think tonight is the can pick up for all the nickles.  And I will scope that out tonight at least.  If I can get 2 to 3 bags of cans that will be a big help.  Also it is like free money to be collected out on the street.  I just don't understand in people pay the nickle and then toss them out into the recycleing bins.  Not all people are frugal or cheap.  Or they like to waste money one.  Eather way some of us win.  It is something extra like nickles in the piggy bank or gas money or something of the nature at least.  Well I will let you know how it turns out later on tonight when I get back.   Have fun and play hard.

Starting in on cleaning

I have started the washer already.  Partial cup of laundery deturgant and fabric softener.  The Aldi red bottle deturgant has went really runny of course so I have to use a little more than what I am use to.  When the next 2 and a half bottles are done I am going back to Purex.  I am thinking that Aldi has caught on to what I have been doing with the laundery deturgant.  Normally the red bottle from there lasts for about 3 to 4 months in my place.  Not any more.  So now I have used Purex before and I am going back to it.  I am still wishing that I can find Fresh Start again.  It worked well and dident adjatate my skin.  Oh well at least in that since I am streeching out the dollars in the place.  Now yesterday I found the baged bird seed is cheaper than the one in the canister.  So I will start buying the 10 pound bag and useing part of my storage bowls for the seed.  I wont have to worry about pet food for awhile after yesterday.  I ended up with 30 dollars for the dog, cat, and bird.  That's includeing the food, litter, and the scratch paper.  So that turned out well on my part anyway.  So now I dont have to worry as much about that.  I haven't started cleaning the bathroom yet and stressing yet.  I am thinking on it for the moment.  With the washer being in the bathroom it makes it hard to do more than one thing in there.  And yes I did make my list out last night and I am still adding things to it this morning also.  Even though I am not that far behind in the house work any more it is knowing the fact that I have to do it anyway in time.  If I dont get to all of the list I don't freek out over it nor do I go into hastarics.  I just leave it for the next day and try to do it all then in what I dident get done the day before.  The list that I make up are used on the paper that I have cut the coupons out on that I have printed.  Sometimes there is only one or two that print on the page.  That leaves me enough room to make a double sided list out becuase I do use both sides of the paper.  Some people do not like it and in how I say they don't live here nor pay my bills in the place.  So I do what I can and go from there.  It does get pretty funny around here at times.  Becuase some people say well I use paper plates and I can not live without them.  Paper plates are a habbit and a bad one at that.  As far as I am concerned they are a waste of money.  Along with wipeing your hands on paper towels all of the time.  I have a ton of hand towels for that.  Other wise I would be going thru at least 8 rolls if not more in a month instead of the 1 and a half rolls.  So there is alot of things that I just can not force myself to waste money on like some people do.  It is just not worth it at all.  So now I can say it is a fine line of being cheap and frugal and a bit of being tight with my money.  If you can leave out paper napkins at all cost also along with the paper plates.  You have to do dishes anyway and laundery so a few more items will not hurt at all.  You use the same amount of water if you wash 3 dishes as you would a whole sink worth.  Along with the dish soap.  Just like laundery get a full load at all times if not set the water settings on the washer.  That's why there's a large, medium, and a small load setting on there along with the cold, warm, and hot knob also.  Now the yellow sticker on the washer when you first get it is a guide line.  I have seen this work also.  It may take a few months to see if your bills go down if any at all.  Now I had seen a dramatic fall in my power bill with my washer.  The extended spin works wanders.  The power bill has kept dropping also.  I have a gas hot water tank.  I really havent seen much of a drop in that, it goes along with the gas oven also.  If you first move into a new place make yourself a pest at the power company.  They base your useage off of the last person(s) there before you when the guesstamate the bill.  So every month call them and get a true reading or get the reading yourself and give it to them.  And tell them this is what I used and get someone out here.  The power company readers all know me by first name around here.  And yes I put up a stink with the head office also.  My power bills went down by 75 dollars if not more a month when I started hollaring.  I dident have a fridge nor a dryer at the time.  And the guys took note of that right away and put it in the computer in the car also.  Then also I had an old window unit for cold air.  I found out When I blocked the hallway up along with the windows and the front room that the bill with that was only maybe 150 a month.  Now when I say old window unit it was mostly made by Harison Radiador and Fridgidaire also.  So it went back some years.  It kept the place cool in 2 rooms let me tell you after blocking up the windows and a few other things.  Still to this day I have windows blocked off and rooms blocked with vents covered with foil to save on the A/C and keeping the place cool.  All you do with the foil is get a piece big enough for the vent/grate and cover the bottom of the grate.  Then stick it back in the floor or cieling and what a differance it makes.  And use fans also to help move the air around.  You knotice a cold spot get a floor fan and point it in the direction you want the air to go to.  Ok folks have fun and play hard.

Dinner is done

Got thru dinner again.  Pizza tonight for a change the homemade kind.  Well what can I say for about 5 dollars for 2 days if not more.  Both the Kitchenaid mixer and food processor are dirty at the moment.  Can't tell that I have used them both lately.  Giggling here.  I am still really wierd from shopping I guess.  There comes a point at time where I just despise shopping as always.  And since theres nobody else to do it I get elected all of the time.  Now to sit back and make a list for tomarrow in what to do.  It some times helps to have a list to mark off in what you have done already for that day.  So that is my goal for tonight.  I know the bathroom needs to be cleaned again along with other things.  Oh well at least it's not to bad in there.  I guess hotel work did me good after I never went back.  I can get thru things quicker now around the house.  Ok folks play hard and have fun.

A trip out finally

I went out to fill out an application and then went to walmart also.  I may have a job by the time this is over also.  Well it's better than nothing.  And more money coming into the house.  Everyone has food, litter, and scratch paper also.  Walmart is a wanderfull place let me tell you now.  Along with the dollar stores and Aldi.  With Walmart milk and several other things are cheaper than others around.  I even bought coffee on sale.  Some things I just can't live without around here and coffee is one of those things.  Along with 2 bags of onions this trip also.  I needed all the little things like pet food and litter to onions and gravey mixes.  There's alot that I picked up and a cart full of stuff by the time I walked out also.  No coupons this time around.  Just for the pet food, litter, coffee, and milk was worth the trip while I was out.  I had an older couple laughing about what I did buy in the pet isle.  I told them I had one of each that I picked food up for.  They coulden't believe that the dog gets along with every thing else in the house hold.  So now the place is pretty stocked up for the most part again I dident have to buy any meats this go around.  So that helped me to get out of Walmart that much cheaper again.  I did pick up the bigger bags of food for the bird,cat, cant and the dog.  It is much cheaper that way once you look at the price per pound on the food.  And the cat litter also.  I did pick up the store brand on the cat litter also.  Much better rate for it than the name brand stuff.  It depends on what I get if it is the name brand or not.  Peanut butter is peanut butter for the most part.  So when it's a dollar per pound instead of 1.33 or more a pound for the name brand than the store brand it is a no brainer that I pick up the store brand.  It is what ever is cheaper in alot of cases except for coffee.  Now I do like the store brand of coffee from Wegmans.  That is one of the grocery chains around here in NY.  Tops brand and Walmarts brands are not so good tasteing with me.  Now with the potatoe flakes it doesen't matter to much with me.  I do pick up the Great Value now from walmart becuase they are cheaper than Aldi and Save a Lot with thier brand.  The taste is the same to me between them.  Now the Name Brands are off on the taste with me.  That's me though.  Now on the holidays I do make real mashed potatoes.  Everyone teases me about them alot.  From a 5 pound bag I end up with 200 pounds of mashed.  Even I will admit to it.  I will put the recipie here at the end.  The milk is about 30 cents cheaper than a couple of places up to 2 dollars also at other places.  So if you you shop around it works out better.  If you hit lets say Walmart if you don't have a super center near you becuase they do take internet coupons, then hit up your local grocery chain who has the best deals for that week pluss coupons with the sales then you are saveing money.  I have been known to shop at Walgreens also if they have really really good deals for that week.  Now with that being said the coffee filters have to be at least down to 20 cents for the 50 filters if not further.  Some places are really high on the budget.  As I have said before I refuse to keep up with the Jonses for my place.  The cheaper I go the more I can get on groceries and save money also.  So eather way my place wins with a house full of groceries for dirt cheap.  And now to get the rest of the bills down around here.  Ok here is the recipie for the potatoes for a crowd of people:



1      5 lb bag of potatoes pealed and cubed  pluss cooked

1 16oz of sour cream
1 12 oz brick of cheese sreded of choice
the palm of your hand in garlic
1 onion chopped
1 stick of butter
and enough milk to make creamy




Theres my potatoes for the holidays that everyone loves and gets the 2nds and the 3rds on all of the time.  Have fun folks and play hard.

With the windows open

I have the fresh air coming into the place now with the windows open.  No fans no A/C going this is a nice thing.  I am saveing money here without the air going.  It has been an up hill battle for my house hold anyway to get the bills down.  I am still working on cutting the power bill down.  It is hard with all of the taxes taged up with the bill.  The taxes are more than the bill its self here in NY State.  Well now to just get everything off and not to use it at all for somethings.  So now to figure in what else to turn off and unplug.  For the gas bill thats not to bad.  I am on the budget plan for that and at this point I think they owe me money again.  And just maybe I can go without paying that one in January becuase I did over pay for that bill.  And another laundery day is coming up.  I will wait till at least thursday when there is a good day without the threat of rain.  So I will take a look around the place and see what else I can do to start saveing more money and slashing bills again.  SO anyway tonight I am not sure on what to have for dinner I may just have another pasta night again.  Who knows with me or it could be meatloaf.  I am running somewhat low on somethings around here so lets see where tonight takes me.  And lets see how far I get in the house today with everything that I really need to do.  I would like to bake but thats not going to happen today.  It depends on how I feel later on today.  Ok folks play hard for now and I will be back.

Just seen

I did know about the adopt a pet program or simular organizations.  The web site is http://www.adoptapet.com/ My house is a somewhat foster home to some pets anyway.  I have also had pets land on my door step that people could not take care of anymore or dident have the time.  Or dident realize that some of them take alot of work.  I have 3 pets here at all times of course Annie the begal border collie mix, Garfield orange tabby cat, and Oliver the quaker/monk parrot/parraket.  So yes in a small household theres alot of pets.  And really the food bill for the pets is not to bad.  I will admit to it.  I had 3 huge dogs at one time as I say now my 600lbs of back up when I was a child.  So I know in how expensive food and vet bills can be.  I found a really good vet that doesent rake me over the coals for that one.  So yes there are ways to cut expenses on pet care also.  Like grooming them yourself.  There are times when I just don't want to clip the nails of the dog.  So I take her in to get that done.  Most times I do it myself.  The bird on the other hand I am not sure so I will be takeing him down to have someone show me what to do for his nails.  The cat for get clipping the nails on her.  I left her claws in just in case if she ever excapes on me.  And it can be a 3 ring curcus at times even though everyone gets along fairly well in my house.  And who ever said that pets are not like 2 year olds are lieing.  There's joys of haveing animals in the house and sometimes lots of laughs also.  The cat is not picky at all in what food is there as long as it is dry food.  I DO NOT give gar 9 Lives at all.  Talk about moveing out of the house with the litter box.  The Miss Annie only wants the Kibbles n Bits food.  She is my picky puppy even though she is 13 years old.  Oliver is what ever is in the food bowl for him pluss he loves his corn.  And talk about teasing the dog he does that without hessatation also.  So eather way it depends on the excitement that you want in the household and go from there.   Have fun for now and remember alwys to play hard and work hard in what you do thru the day.

Loved dinner

Dinner has been done and over with for some time now.  It was pretty good with the broth noodles and garlic.  And more bang for the dollar tonight.   It was about 2 dollars for 2 of us to eat tonight and theres enough for lunch tomarrow also.  Now to just get my toush into gear and cook more cheap meals for the rest of the week.  It isen't as bad as it sounds at the moment.  Alittle thought and planning goes along way around here.  The other part is haveing things on hand to cook with also.  I always have flour in the house.  That's a given around here.  So are onions and garlic.  To be mainly stocked up on some stuff is a good thing.  The things you use daily you need more of it.  Like around here chicken is a cheap meal along with made from scratch sauce.  The sauce recipie I can not give out at all.  All I can say is tomato pure and go from there.  So now I get to make pizza sauce and regular pasta sauce also.  I keep really busy around here between side jobs and cooking from scratch.  Always have and always will.  Then theres the little things like hanging laundery out and the normal house hold chores that seem to never end.  If you can find a cheaper way of doing things go for it.  I know I have my perks for being cheap around the house.  Like a little dab of dish deturgant goes along way in my house.   So does cleaners.  I hardly use paper towles as a rule unless I am cleaning.  Some people that come over to my place are total pigs and like to trash other peoples houses.  So now my place isen't that bad I need to do touch ups in the bathroom as normal like cleaning the sink and the cammode.  Then I need to wipe down the counter tops in the kitchen down again and to start makeing pies again along with alot of other things also.  And there's to make biscuts and bake them half way and freeze them for later use.  What I do is freeze them after baking them half way and pull them and bake them the rest of the way when I need them.  Now alot of people that I know around here can not cook at all.  And i send them to a few places to learn how to also.  Pluss some ask me how can they get thier household even cheaper also.  All I can do is laugh most times about it.  One person asked and I printed out a sheet for her to fallow and she gave up after 2 weeks.  Now there are some things that I do not have in the house.  For good reasons.  I do have dry beans in the house.  There are times I want beans and rice for dinner along with some chili or what I call chili.  I havent quite mastared the dry beans yet but that's me.  So do what you can to be cheap in the kitchen.  Now I am always saying that the Kitchenaid appliances are a blessing in my place. I use them all of the time.  And it is well worth the money that I spent on them.  You can get better deals with the holidays coming up.  Black Friday is one of them good days to get really good deals.  Shop around and look at the sale ads also.  I go to http://www.sundaysavers.com/ alot also.  It is a one stop look at the ads.  Another site that I like is the Kitchenaid site.  I look most times to see what they all have.  Ok folks have fun and play hard.

Pulling dinner

I have pulled dinner for tonight.  I am going to try something new today again.  Boiling Chicken Broth and cooking the pasta in that and adding the garlic form there.  In the summer time I get alot of chicken broth.  Only becuase I par boil the chicken before I throw it out on the gril.  So besides for chicken soup in the winter time I have homemade broth all year long.  So eather way it still gets used up in my household.  It also gets used up for homemade dog bones.  Ok so I do have a taste tester or 2 now.  Between my dog and Jack next door(golden retriver).  And if the kids break into the puppy cookies who cares becuase I know whats in them.  I had to laugh alot with my cousins baby only becuase her and the dog at my aunts house were shareing the goodies.  The baby is other wise known loveingly as my pig tail streaker also.  So anyway I am waiting on the chicken broth to dethaw form the deep freezer.  And I will let you know in how the pasta turns out tonight when I cook it.  Now to really start cleaning while I wait for everything to come togeather for tonight.  Pluss I will start looking for freebies and other things on the net while I am at it.  The woman who runs http://www.flyladies.com/ has it so right in doing something for 15 min then sit for 15 min.  I always get more done that way thru the day.  So I will be back to let everyone know how dinner turned out.  Play hard and safe for the rest of the day.

Double duty yesterday

I did double duty yesterday of course.  I diden't get back out of the house last night.  It seemed like everyone showed up at once of course.  Never fails.  Thank goodness it was after dinner was done.  The Convection over pulled thru for me yesterday.  Chicken on one rack and biscuts on the other rack.  Pluss mashed potatoes to go along with it all.  Dinner was about 3 dollars max for the both of us last night.  I like it when I am that cheap on dinner.  And I can get cheaper if I really wanted to.  So now the delema is to what's for dinner tonight of course.  I think that is in most major households anyway.  Becuase, nothing looks good for me today.  Even though meatloaf is in the planner for tonight.  I may just make a batch of homemade sauce today.  Pasta is one of the cheaper foods out there today besides rice.  It is going out and buying sauce that puts the strain on the budget if you do not make it from scratch of course.  Some times I just put a stick of butter or margerin in with the noodles along with the garlic powder or granulated garlic and theres a meal for me and leftovers for the next day.  Or there is chicken broth and throw alot of garlic in it and then make the pasta of course. There's so many options right at the moment that they all sound good right about now.  Maybe I am just hungery.  I am trying to come out and up with alot of really cheap possibilities right now becuase its nearing the end of the month as normal.  And for the next grocery trip I am going to be as cheap as possible and maxamize the meals to streach the dollar further in the household.  Pluss a ton of other things to go along with the streaching.  I know alot of people shake thier heads at me when I go and do something like this and say it can not be done in my household at all.  I just laugh about it now only becuase it doesent bother me at all.  Pluss I got to the point that I just do not care what other people think in what I do.  I have became creative in my own rights on how and why I do things the way I do them.  Now I do not split up the double ply toilet paper becuase it is just not worth the hassles to me.  I do split up meats to make them go further in my place.  Pluss there are times where I make real taters also.  Since there is only myself at times here in the place I will make instant potatoes.  The instant taters have came along way since I was a child.  And if you use powdered milk with them they are not so bad.  I do not go thru alot of milk anyway so it is easier for myself to make a quart of the instant milk than to run out and get regular milk and have it go bad before I can use it all.  And alot of people do not realize that I make the insant milk alot of the times.  I make it alittle stronger is all.  I laugh when they catch me makeing the powdered milk and then it dawns on them that they have been drinking it in coffee and on cereal.  That and I bake with it all of the time anyway.  Well the way I look at alot of things around here is that when the food is already prepaired for you it doesent seem to go as far.  Like lets say the Hamberger Helper boxed dinners.  They call for a pound of ground meat in the directions.  Thats just to much in my book.  I went to the half pound for one box and a full pound for 2 boxes.  I do not make that often.  I do mine from scratch most times.  There is a wanderfull recipie at http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ that I really like.  The cooking from scratch thing just plain out tastes better.  And your household will thank you later.  Yes it takes a lot longer to do this at first.  Once you get the hang of it it goes quicker.  Becuase, of course you have some things on the counter in hands reach bu the oven.  Then you start with the spices that you normally have out then the others go in the cabnet or pantry for when you need them for some recipies that you cook once in a great blue moon.  Just like I use alot of garlic and onions in my kitchen.  Why you may ask me.  I like the taste and flavors of the both of them.  So I always have them on hand eather the fresh of the garlic and onions and or the dried of the both.  Cooking for me is like reaching for the sky and there is no limits for what I can really do.  Ok folks have play hard and safe.

Went to the auction

I went to the auction today.  It was nuts as normal in the place till the last 15 pieces/houses were auctioned off.  I dident win any of the places I bid on oh well.  I will have better luck next time if I go again.  I hope.  Anyway now to start looking again for another house.  I have to get out of the park where I am now.  Since I am known as the crazy lady of the block.  So it will not be all bad when I find a deasent place to live at.  So the good thing is is that i already have crazy neighbors so that I am use to for when I do get a real house.  I guess I will go on being as cheap as I can till I can get all of this done.  And even cheaper than I am now.  I have to, to keep my mind off of everything till thigs fall thru for me.  So no extra spending on my part any more than what I have to.  So lets see what I can figure out to be even cheaper in the coming days, weeks, and months to help take this all along.  And I will prevail over all of this yet.  I will come up with new ways and share them all with all.  Ok folks time for myself to start digging on the net again.  So have fun and play safe and hard thru out the day. 

I went out for a bit

I ended up at the reservation for smokes.  Instead of 100 dollars for a carton of smokes I paid 20 dollars for the cheap ones.  It is well worth the 12 miles to get out there and not pay state taxes.  And there's nothing that the state can do under the 1812 treaties of the 7 Nations so far.  Even though NY State is greedy.  There is no other way to put it.  Then they wander why most of us are moveing out of the state.  So many taxes we all should be on food stamps except the reps of the state.  Then they all wander why some of us are cheaper than snot around here.  At least my lot rent is paid to the slum landloard and my bills are paid who cares right??????   What I want is enough money left over for food and other things.  Maybe that's why I turn off everything then unplug it all while I am at it.  I have been conserving on water also on top of everything and my water bill went up.  Go figure.  I am useing less water now than I did a year ago.  Oh well I can not win them all.  At least I am trying to get the bills down to under 100 dollars a month anyway.  That will be the day to see my eltric bill under 90 dollars on a good month.  So I am still trying to figure out in what more I can still do.  Most of the bills are taxes I will agree to that but in 14 years my eletric bill hasent been under 95 dollars.  With the fans going with the air it has droped another 50 from last year, and hanging out laundery helps also.  At least I have something to look forward to each month.  Pluss the freebies that I get in the mail.  About the only thing keeping me saine at the moment besides the look ups and the dig ins to the free stuff that is out there.  The cans will be a welcome sight for me for extra grocery money of course.  I still can not believe that people throw away nickles all of the time.  The state of NY gets almost 11 million extra dollars for people not returning the cans for the nickle that they spent on them.  Oh well have a good one and play safe and hard.

Bird bath

Oliver ended up with a pie plate of water in the cage today.  He went straight in and started splahing around.  now his forehead looks like it has been spiked up.  Oliver is a sopping wet birdy.  Well that's the second good laugh of today.  Now to figure out what is for dinner of course.  Such a job with that.  Maybe tuna salad for dinner or regular meat one.  Or maybe sauce and noodles.  I vote for noodles tonight.  So now just to sit back wand wait for the bread to get done out of the convection oven and then go from there.  And toamrrow is the tax auction for Niagara county.  I may get a place for cheap I may not who knows.  It will be fun and lets see if any jaws drop to the floor this go around.  Anyway I will be back later on be safe and play hard.

Laughing at my idea

Now I am laughing at my idea on picking up soda cans and bottles. I told another person on what I wanted to do and he loved it. We both will hit a neighborhood on trash day and collect the cans and plastic bottles to our bennafit. It is extra money in our pockets is how I look at it. A nickle per container. Ok 4 bags are about 20 dollars for the 4 big black bags if not more. If we do that every week all the better on us for whatever we need. Extra groceries in my book. And for very little time and effort. If people want to throw out money it is another ones gain on the money. Then nickles sure do add up after awhile. One time I rememmber takeing an old refridgerator box back of cans. I was so broke and needed some fresh groceries by the time I was done I had about 70 dollars for that trip to the store after I returned the cans that I had enough to get the whole months worth of meals by the time I was done. So do not keep your mind closed for extra money in the house. There are many ways of doing alot of things to bring in money and sanity to the household. Pluss another way to save money and I can't stress this enough also are freebies. Now free samples are a good thing also for the household. As long as you do not waste them. Sometimes my mail box is just full of of free samples. You can find them everywhere on the net. I have even got 2 free rolls of toilet paper other wise known as T.P> in my house hold. If you look hard enough on the web/internet you can find alot of free stuff. There's coupons, make-up, soap, dish deturgant, laundery deturgant, coffee, and so on from there. I have even got free dog and cat treats in the mail. So don't be scared to ask, the worst the company can tell you is NO. There are times where they say no one time then ok here you go the next time you ask for the sample or freebie. OK now to start working on the house again have fun and be safe everyone.

Cutting your bills

Cutting down or cutting out on the bills are worth every effort in the household. Now for me it is useing coupons and turning stuff off in the household. Pluss several other things that I do. Just like I DO NOT eat out at resturants as a general rule in the household. It is ok on the rare occation but not all of the time. The only way to get me out to eat is free stuff like sandwiches or free of something and it really has to be a big saveings for me. Now another thing that I do is when I hit the grocery stor or the Walmart super center is that I look for the cheaper cuts of meat. You will be surprized If you know how to tenderize cuts of meat that are tough. Pluss there are this day only specials at the meat counters also. I really like to sweet talk the butchers and I can get more soup bones and other things for cheap. Like deli ends are a good thing around my house. A chest freezer is a nice thing to have also. When whole chickens or turkeys go on sale for like below 50 cents a pound that is the time to buy them and put them back for later use. There are sales all over the place now adays. If you can catch the sale item pluss use a coupon it drives the cost down even more. Just like the Buy one Get one Free stuff did you know you can use 2 coupons for that sale. Just like last month there were frozen pizzas that were 2.50 a piece. I had several coupons for 2 dollars off of a piticular brand. So it is really up to you in what you want to do with it all on the coupon part. I know some people don't use coupons at all. I say if they are out there the companies want you to use them. They would rather take a loss on some of us folks becuase they know some people like to pay full price on the items that they offer. Well with the power bills shooting up now a days and new TAXES being on them in some MONEY HUNGERY STATES some of us have figured out how to keep the cost of that down also. In the summer time I hang out laundery to save from extra heat not going into the household. The washer is energy star rated and it was worth the extra 100 dollars on it for everything like useing less water also. It costs maybe at most 3 dollars a month to run the thing at all times. I genorate alot of laundery in my house hold also. I try to use the dryer as little as possible anyway only becuase it uses alot of power to use it. Now for the computer I do use mine more times than not. There are days that I have it totally off along with the modem also. The only bad thing is that the phone is on the modem also. I have a cell phone to make alot of calls off also. And it does help when the power goes out around here. People say drop one for the other and I say what if MYSELF or OTHERS are stranded out on the road. The kindness of people help and I have returned the favor that was done to myself also on that. But shop around for the best plans for the cell phones. Another thing about the power bills are that you have to unplug the PHANTOM DRAINERS. Like power cords that are not in use. I have saved over 50 dollars on the power bill by unplugging charger cords that are not in use. Pluss I have alot that is unpluged also while I am at it. You don't need the mixer plugged in 24/7 do you? All of the appliances in the kitchen are unpluged untill we need them in my house. Most of the lights are not burning niether. I may have one light going if that during the day. Pluss during the winter months I have a candle burning when I am in the kitchen. Another energy drainer is when you leave the computer going 24/7. Mine gets shut down at night. Pluss it saves on the mother board and hard drive. And it gets shut down when I leave the house also. Another good thing is if you have the bundle packages for alot of things like the cable, internet, and phone on one bill. It saves money most times. Now for my household also I have had to learn that a quiet house is a good thing around here. I can say after you get use to the idea that it is quiet you may not want stuff on like the T.V. or the radio on constantly. Now there are times when I do an alday search on recipies. Eather from the cookbooks that I have or over the internet. Then I mix them up to make them my own. All I can say is be creative on it and do not overload your husband and kids with a week of new recipies. Do it maybe once a week or so and see if the kids and others will like them if its not a hit then toss the recipie. Also I have learned over the years that some kids are very picky eaters. As the old saying goes if the parents put thier foot down then the problem wouldent be there. Unless there are food alergies. Anyway there is still alot of tricks of the traid out there and more that I dident mention so far in this one. So try new things and do not be scared to do so niether.

When I figured the worst was over

Well last night got worse. With major thunderstorms rolling thru I thought that I was gonna loose power. So I drug out some candles to be ready just in case. This is what happends when you have a SLUM LANDLOARD who dosen't care eather way. All the boxes in the park need to be replaced after over 20 years of being in use. The streets have degrated over the years also enough to swallow up my mini van and the park refuses to fix it. Not only that my driveway has fell apart along with others also. Then the sewars have been crushed also becuase of the streets falling appart and with the laying water after a good rain storm. Pluss the addition to more trailers here in the park. I can really go on about how bad the owners are. And there are laws that They have ignored and been fined for in the past 6 years. I will tell you that every State has the laws for tenant rights and laws. Up here in NY State it is called Section 233. For the trailers or what you want to call them now a days. I call them Tin Cans. Call the state that you are in and they can direct you to the right spot or phone number that you need for the laws of your area. And there is good and bad all over the place in the world. There are some of us left that will give the shirt off our backs to help others still to this day. And alot of people will tell you in how I am. Burn me more than once and you are done with me. Untill then I am more than willing to help if I can. There have been times where all I had was free stuff coming in for shampoo conditioner bar soap and food items. And the free food deals out at resturants also. That way all I had to do was buy a small soda and I got a sandwich for free sometimes. There is alot of ways to be really cheap or frugal eather way in my household. Went and came back

All I can say is what a joke for the place I went to. Money up frount and if I couldent do right away then I couldent sign back up for 7 yrs after a video. Then not to publish the terms of service on thier site. It is just WRONG in my eyes. As i say it is all in who you know to get discounts on stuff to repair the house. My toushie will be going to Home Depot from now on. I have much better luck with them. Pluss I can compair prices with Home Depot and Lowes on line. At WWW.HOMEDEPOT.COM and WWW.LOWES.COM. If you watch the ads close enough and can get help from a Contractor that you can trust all things can happen. Even if you are a do it your selfer like I am. I can hang dry wall with the best of them along with doing concrete work. It is not hard to do these things once you read up and can have someone show you the basics. I know Home Depot has classes for just about everything out there. So find out when they are haveing classes and sign up for them. It's that simple. Just like if you go to the bueaty school just to watch them they dont mind. I know several people who do the home hair cuts. I keep the other half in gear that way. All I need to do is put layers in my own hair and I'm gone. Maybe once every 2 yrs or so i spoil myself and get the very ends trimed. So take courses and save money that way. And be a do it yourself person. Just like getting seeds to start a garden. It is cheaper that way than buying plants that have been already started. Now I dident plant a garden this year at all. Things were to crazy around here. The seeds that I started out from 14 years ago did very well and produced alot of fruit and vegies for me. The plants that were already started dident fair to well. So yes I did learn my lesson on that. Ok that is enough for today and place safe everyone.

Early dinner

Today is an early dinner becuase I have to be somewhere at 5pm. It is a mosh posh of things thrown togeather of course. Those are the best dinners of all. And the kids if you have them, eat everything on thier plates without complaning to much. And the worse it looks the faster it goes down with some kids. What I done tonight was ground hamberger with 3 handfulls of french fries cheese and an envalope of chilli seasonings. I deep fried the fries cooked the burger then threw everything togeather. Normally I have a countery gravy mix in the house but its going into the end of the month again. And of course I dont wanna do any grocery shopping yet with another week and a half to go. I try to get all the bills paied first then what is left over is what I have for groceries and other things. I have learned to do this and YES it was hard at first. So do as you feel is right to you. IF you shop every other week so be it. I do mine once a month and go from there. Ok folks have fun play safe.

Almost a clean kitchen

Well I think I got enough dirt out of the kitchen today. I used extra Spic n span for the cleaning becuase it was bad. What is it with men and not totally cleaning. There was dirt all over and dust. I havent started organizing yet. It was well enough I got alot of the dirt up and the dishes done so far. Oh and I got the cans in the bag also while I was at it. Untill I get enough of them to take back they will stay in the mud room. So eather way I don't win. The table needs some work as normal and all the computer parts need to get out to the frount room again. And I diden't make the mess again. So the next room is the liveing room again. It is one of them days that I have to clean. And yes I do let alot pile up here in the place. It gets to the point to where I just can't stand not being able to move. When things are piled up it's not good an anyone at all. There is alot left to do around here and most can wait undill the sun goes down of course. I have to defur the blankets. So one at a time for 15 min to get the animal hair out of them. And the 15 min is optional it may be less than that. Pluss I have to be someplace at 5pm today so it never ends. Well I am hopeing there's hope for me today and I get the phone call also to go back to work. Well anyway back to work on the inside of the can so I can move better around here. After last night

I had a problem last night trying to upload the pictures into the computer from the camera. There are always ways around everything I am guessing of course. So now I will have to drag out my laptop to get the pictures and send them to myself. What a pain in the toushie. I have came up with a couple of new ways of trying to get the clutter up and out of the way now if and saying a big if they work it is all good. So now just to get alot of the things done and see if takes ahold of me. Even though I have been really creative on ways to store things around here. I have my odd ball places of keeping things out of the way. Now to get the sewing machine out to make alot of covers for some of the appliances in the tin can. I still laugh about it becuase some people cant stand in what I have so far. Trust me I DO NOT keep up with the Jonses at all. If I did I would have been homeless along time ago. I figured why bother to keep up. Its not worth the time nor the effort to keep up with the rat race of life. The older I get the cheaper I go in life. Maybe becuase I know I can make alot of things myself than go out and buy something that I can make for a quarter of the price. I always have flour,onions, and yeast in the house along with bakeing powder. There are some staples that I cannot live without at all. I have learned to keep powdered milk in the place also. Never know when a big snow storm is going to come up and close the roads. Pluss I use alot of powdered milk for bakeing also. It seems alot of stuff lasts longer when I use it also. Some people just laugh and say well why not start buying stuff that they all like. I really like the people who try to spend my pay before I get it and it isen't thiers. I shake my head at these people all of the time. Ok so some things are somewhat tatard in my place. I do not mind one bit as long as i have enough sheets to cover the thing. I refuse to buy another couch till the one I have is saying it is not playing no more. And why should I????? There is more to life than having going broke for other people. And haveing brand new stuff. My van is 20 years old this up coming year. The van still works well. And I only have one car so therefore I can walk if need be. Walking is good for alot of things and it is free. I can say this becuase I have been without a car also. So now to give the recipie for the BBQ sauce that I have.





1 big onion polverized
2 cups ketcup
1 cup brown sugar
3 dashes of wostershire sauce
1 shot of Mr. Jack Danniles
Mix all togeather and throw on meat when its on the grill. A whole new way of BBQ sauce and it is cheap also. Ok folks I will be back later and lets see what I can do with organizeing the place. Have fun and be safe.

Got to love some stuff

Some appliances I really like. Some I cant live without niether. The rice cooker is one of those appliances. And yes I am reheating the chicken in it with cooking the rice. All at the same time. Thank goodness for the one I got from www.hsn.com it has Wolfgang Puck's name on it which is fine by me. It was what I was looking for at the time. I wanted a locking lid unlike the ones in Walmart and several other stores with a tempared glass lid. All in all I spent the same for what the discount stores wanted for the 2 cup cooker for a 10 cup cooker. I caught a sale on it of course. I hardly buy any appliance without a sale. Then this way when people come over I can say I dident pay what you thought I paid for it. Another thing is the microwave. It is so easy to pop in something little to heat up that it works for me. Another is the Kitchen Aid mixer. You can find them all over. WWW.TARGET.COM, WWW.WALMART.COM, WWW.QVC.COM, AND ALSO WWW.KITCHENAID.COM. There is so many attatchments that it is unbelievable for it. I even have an icecream mixer to go with it. I use the mixer for almost everything that needs mixing or kneeding. I also have a Kitchenaid food proccessor. I got talked into it after it bit A dear friend of mine. Now I am glad I did get it. I shreed cheese with it pulverize onions and a few other things with it. I have used it more in the past 18 months than I have used it in the past 12 years. I make homemade pizza all of the time instead of ordering out. The onions that pulverize are for the BBQ sauce that I make. I will put it on here today. I try to make things easy as possible around here with me cooking. I like some appliances for that more than others. Like the mixer the food proccessor and the convection oven. The convection oven is for when it gets to hot out to cook and for the extra cooking room for the hollidays also. Ok so I will admit again I do have a SMALL place. So all I need for the appliances is what I have already. If and when you are ready to get alot of the appliances make sure that they are energy star rated. It will save money on power and water. Just like the washer I have. It is energy star rated and uses less pwoer and water at the same time. Pluss gass also. I put it on auto fill and on cool or tap cold and push the button and let it go. When I use up the Aldi deturgant im switching back to Purex again. You can get samples at thier site also. Pluss I have an extended spin on the washer now. It really cuts down on drying time eather way I go for line dry or the dryer. So both ways I do save money on 3 bills water,power,and gas. So shop around and go from there. It is well worth the time and effort for it. Look on line for what you want and go to the web sites and look for sales and deals pluss rebates if any. Play safe and have a good one floks.

Now lets see

Ok lets see what i can do with the left over chicken from last night. I do like my left overs a whole lot. Only becuase the main part of the next meal is already cooked for me the next day. Now to bake bread for today since I have slacked off with it being so hot out lately. I am bound and deturman to get caught up. Just my nature to do so. And I can't put off one of my kids niether for his cookies. Thank goodness he understands when it is warm out I don't do squat except easy cooking and not so much bakeing eather way. Well I just can not see heating up the oven and slaveing over a hot range top and oven all day long when it is 90 out side. Then makeing the A/C unit work that much harder and wasteing money that way. Anyway, the free stuff hunt is going well. There's alot of days to where things are free out in resturants of course. Like Arby's has something free on Wensdays, Ben and Jarrys Buy One Get On Free on sundaes on Monday's, then there's Free candy on Fridays. Well there are some people I do rub off on doing this all from looking up what is what around here. Now if we could just get alot more free stuff out at the grocery stores things would be good. Pluss there are free games that you do not have to pay for out on the internet also. Free bingo in your home. It is nice let me tell you. Ok folks have a good one and I will be back later.

The chicken is in

Ok the last of the whole bird is in the oven. Sometimes you have to see what is on sale for the week or month on what is cheaper per pound of chicken. Now in my household I do buy alot of chicken. I have 101 ways of makeing chicken. And there's alot more than the 101 ways. It was picked up at 69 cents per pound. And a 10 pound birdy was about 5 dollars. I should have picked more up but dident have room in the big freezer for no more than 5 birds. Then if you can pick up the gound beef for under 99 cents a pound thats even better to top off the chicken. There is chicken casseroles to chicken wraps to chicken salad. With the gound beef there's homemade burgers to meatloaf girl scout stew and alot of other things. People ask all the time what the heck is girl scout stew which is known as shepards pie. Sisters who knew. Least they knew how to cook by the time i came along. There are still things that flop on us as normal. I don't care in how long you have been cooking for. Then you pick your self up but the straps and start over again. ost of the time my one sister can not cook a meat loaf to save her own skin runny in the middle and done on the outside. It took me 20 pluss years to eat and cook a meat loaf on my own. The hippy is happy about that one. There are alot of recipies out there to get the burger type fix going on. Just like www.pauladean.com she has a poor mans menone out there. All i could do is laugh but it is so true when you are first starting out. Even a good friend of mine will tell you on that. And he is a Doctor/Actor. Become creative on what you have and could do with anything in the freezer and pantery. And don't be scared to try something differant on anything. Take a recipie and make it your own adding this and that and write it down. Now I know people who dont like alot then theres food alergies out there write down the food alergies and start cooking. I dont use pepper nor peppers of any kind becuase of food alergies. So alot of the food I make is from scratch and I don't mind it now like I use to. There are times that people try to slip stuff past me and I can always tell becuase of the tounge starts to burn. So try new stuff and when kids say PEPPERS AGAIN try something differant. I know when my mom figured out when I would go into a miagrane with peppers she stoped cooking with them. Now I go into hives and miagranes when consumed and I dont wanna know what else to go along with it. So look up recipies and go from there. Have fun and be safe all.

One nice thing about being home

I finally relized I don't mind being home all of the time. I can look up free stuff come up with new recipies and look for coupons. And find ways to be cheaper than dirt about things here in the house. It is bad when I can find ways to save money on groceries, the power bill, and everything else in the place. And i just hollared at a friend to turn off the light above the sink also today. Even though it is pennies still the same rather have them pennies in my pocket. Most of the place is on power strips so I can automaticly turn off alot of stuff at one time. It pays to be cheaper than snot in my household. I can go out to my yard now and more than likely can pick up 20 cents worth of cans and or bottles. Most times thats how i pay for groceries along with coupons. It is wierd but it is true. And I use paper towles for cleaning only in my household also. I have hand towles all over the place for wipeing of the hands. It is a cardnal sin to use a paper towel to wipe your hands after you wash them on those. You wont find paper plates nor the plastic cups nor the plastic forks knives or spoons. They are a waste of money in my eyes. I have cut ans slashed everything in half like the dish soap and laundery deturgant. As they told us growing up a little goes along way. And they were not kidding niether with that saying. As I say the bargin racks are our best friends at all the stores. When I can find a pair of pants or jeans for 3 dollars when they were 15 normally. That is how i have dressed most of the household or thru yard sales. And alot of people will shake thier heads at me. It dosen't bother me anymore when they do that. Or when I am at the check out lanes with a fist/paw full of coupons I have heard people start hollering about it till they see the finall bill at the end of the coupons and for the can return. I sent a 45 dollar bill down to $4.95 at walmart one day and one of the elders was impressed with me. That's when I first got Oliver and alot of it was for him. So there are ways to cut the bill down for Walmart and other places. Some that come over to my place are amazed in what i can do for the month in only shopping once a month shopping trips that I do make. I alos plan out everything as much as I can for meals and other things. Once I got use to the fact to planning out and getting organized enough it made it easier on myself. Alot of folks don't understand that you dont need to go to the store once a week. There is alot of farmers markets and road side stands at this time of the year. Pluss with one of the buttons that I have added with the vegies in season so you can tell what is and isent in season at the times of the year. You can catch sales on alot of things and some things are seasonal cheap. Just like football season tater chips as I call them are cheaper along with beer and dips. Even though it is still cheaper to make your own at most times of the year. Ok folks I will have more later on play safe.

Thinking of free stuff

As always I am thinking of free stuff. Theres the Ben and Jerrys buy one sundae get one free for mondays till aug 31. Free printable coupons also. But you really get motivated when theres a free roll of T.P. sitting out on the front door steps of where you are at. If the big corperations dident want you to have things for free they woulden't put it out there for you to ask for. I have gone to let say www.dove.com for free samples of shampoo conditioner and soap products. Well put it this way I got the bars of soap and shampoo and diden't need to buy any soap for a week when I was almost out of eather product. Now when I do get the free stuff I try to let them build up for awhile. Then start to use them for when I am in a pinch for that month. It is all in how you want to do it in your own household. The computer would have been nice when I first moved up here in NY. I was really sopping off the bargin racks at the grocery store and once a day becuase of no fridgerator in the place. Theres many of places for free stuff waiting to be collected out on the web. Sometimes you really have to dig for the gold mine of what you want. Thats part of the fun of looking up the differant stuff that you want. So now with myself inbetween jobs and some not starting fast enough I do look for samples and free stuff pluss coupons more and more each day. I still shop the bargin racks to see what kind of goody i can get for at least half to 75% off of the retail price. If I have a coupon for the item on top of it it makes for an even better deal. It depends on the store you go to and they should have a coupon policy up and going on thier web site. Just like with Walmart they take internet printed coupons. If the manager gives you a hard time about it get the name of the cashier and manager at the time and call corporate they will do something about it right then and there. This has got to stop

Well dog cat bird and now a turtel was found in the yard. Now I have to laugh. The turtel is going to a good pond. And not here in the house. Not enough room here in my place. A mobil home is small and I know i have out grown it now.

Anyway at least dinner went off without a hitch tacos. It is amazing what a half pound of ground meat and a taco packet can do for food. And I am not suppose to have the chili powder but it seems not to bother me yet. Ok folks have fun and play safe.

Even hotter today

Today is even hotter outside. I have been hanging laundery out and it is not good out side at all. And the poor air conditioner hasen't had a break all day hardly. I have the fans going and trying not to cook just yet also. I am saveing money by not running the drier at all today. It throws out enough heat that the coldest room in the tin can heats up fast. The coldest room is the restroom as normal. It is amazeing that its already in the 90's outside. So I will be takeing a somewhat lazy day after the last load of laundery goes up on the lines. Even the coffee pot is off till we all need another go around. I bought the craf to keep it hot inbetween makeing coffee. Thank goodness there are easy cheap meals out there to fix for dinner to where I dont have to heat up the place totally. That's why I like searching for recipies on line to get creative for dinner ideas. It works for my house hold and some people do not mind when I start to try new things. Of course shrimp and lobster are out so are T-Bone stakes. That's my household. I can get dinners out for under 10 dollars per day. By going to Walmart, Aldi, and shopping for sales pluss coupons. So that means lots of ground burger, chicken, and meatless dishes. Once you get use to the idea it becomes easier to deal with. There were some fights about it at first as always. I battled it out with success on it. A thing that helped me out alot is that i did read someplace to split up the meat. Now most of the times there's only 2 of us that eat here. So I get the 1/2 lbs of ground meat, and 3 pieces of chicken to quart zipper bag. Now I DON'T reuse the zipper bags with the meat in them at all. I see no since in it becuase of cross contamination. You can only wash them so much and you can not get all the nooks and crannies on them. So if they have had like drier sheets in them they stay in the bathroom where the washer and dryer are and get reused for just dryer sheets. That's how I do things. I get picky to some of it. Sitting here wandering why

Already it has hit about85 to 90 out side. I told a couple of friends when it starts getting real bad out to get over here to sit in the cool air. I guess I am haveing a BIG DUH momment. With out the air on here in the tin can(as I call it) it would be 110 in side the place. So yes it is bad enough to turn on the air again for me. Pluss i refuse to cook in or on anything today except to have leftovers from last night of the noodle stuff that I made. So now That the dryer for the laundery is out of the question also today I ended up hanging 3 loads out already before it got to bad in here. Pluss I have 3 fans to move the air around so I dont get any real cold spots . Also I have dungonized the tin can. Blocking all the windows and rooms that we are not useing of course. So I am hopeing that my power bis isen't over 100 dollars also this month. Anyway at least I dont have to go anywhere today and i can send out emails and pbone calls for finding a job at least. Oh well at least I wont melt out in the weather. Have fun folks and be safe.

Back to looking again

I'm always looking for samples and free stuff out there along with good deals on and off the net. As I say if they dident want you to have samples and coupons the manufacturers wouldent put it out there for people at all. Some people laugh at me about what I have got thru the mail already. Pluss the free stuff i have got with being out and about also. Down to free tee shirts to bags to rolls of T.P. There are several ways to get them from signing up in sweeps to just asking for them also. I rememmber one time I was out with friends and i had a certian beer in my hand and I ended up with a free shirt out of the deal. The couple that I went out with were in shock. Well all I can do is laugh sometimes about it. And it pays to get the free stuff sometimes becuase they all do send coupons also with the sample or freebie. Then there's free stuff if you ask for it also in the resturants. Anywhere from a free kids night out to free sandwiches to free drinks. Some you have to go really looking for and others you do not have to. Or you can make a few phone calls and ask what promotions they have for that day week or month. Or of they have coupons to dine at that piticular place also. I know it sounds like some of us are begging for free food and it's not like that at all. Saveing money when you can is always a good thing. Just like I got a box of goodies for my dog thru UPS when we first got her. Ever since then the dog has liked the UPS guys and the mail men. Pick a treat that they like and go to thier web site and see if they have coupons and or treats under thier promotions. Works like a charm. Even if you go to a web site and ask if they have coupons that they can give you. The worst they can tell you is No. I have also got cat samples. And yes for the most part everyone gets along. It's like haveing 3 2 year olds in the house at times but it is well worth the fun times in the house hold. OK folks have a good one and I will be back.

Day at the fair

Well we all made it out to the Erie County Fair today. Channle 4 day so all day 4 to park 4 to get in and went from there. And of course I am totally burnt for this go around its about 85 out that way. There were alot of free stuff at the fair also this year. As you will see in the pictures. Then to top it all off free grocery bags. So it was well worth it for the weather plastic for the windows to go out there. And since there were 2 of us out there that stuck togeather we got double of everything. All in all it was about 41 dollars to run around including parking and the fee to get in today. And all the goodies that were there like the candy coated cashews even. The Tree guy was pretty cool also. The both of us split all the food and drinks today so it helped cut the cost of everything. And we got our exercise also with all the walking today. OK I will go get the noxema or the vinager for the burn stay safe and play nice.
