Never ending battle today

The first leg of the cookies are done around here. The ginger cookies I want really cold so I can roll them out better. What I will not do for a good friend. I haven't started on all of the cookies nor the pies as of yet. I have been haveing a hard time getting motivated around here. Knowing what I have to do as of yet I do not wander why at all. I am also not looking forward to heating up the can with the oven niether. Oh well at least things will be getting done today and it will be a busy day also weather I want it to be or not. At this point it is cheaper to bake and do other things than what I really want to do around here. I was already doing things before some got out of bed this morning also. And that is ok by me I got a jump on some of the house work. With me alot of the times I work better alone and now is no exception to the fact to the week. AnywayI had put the ham in the deep freezer and now for it to dethaw once again. Ok folks have fun and play hard.

A morning I dident need

Well the power went out this morning. At least there was a pot of coffee done by then. Since I have a gas range I was lighting burners for tea and to reheat coffee. Pluss I can still cook on the burners of the stove. That is why more than likely that when the power goes out it doesen't really bother me to much. Who knows when the boxes are gonna blow gaskets and say we are not playing anymore. Pluss the candles helped keep it somewhat warm in here also. Pluss you never know when the power would come back on from being out. So I did a couple of tricks that I read over the years on how to keep a place warm. One was to fill the bathtub with hot water, the windows are already blocked except for the 2 kitchen windows, and I even had a sheet up at the front door becuase it would be under 32 outside today to keep down the drafts from there. What I won't do for to keep the place somewhat warm around here. The bathtub trick helped out also. Now that I can start bakeing around here somewhat. That is after I get the dishes done of course. This is the joys of not haveing the wood burner yet. I will not put one in the can at all. The rule is 7 min to get out of a burning trailer no matter in how old it is. I have seen several go up in my time. Anyway at least I have most of today to start in on the breads and cake and a few other things around here. I do have corn flour in the can. So I will split the flour and the corn flour down the middle for the bread today. I will also start in on looking for a few more recipies for a couple of things here in the can. Ok folks have fun and play hard.

Already bakeing

Well this morning was off to a running start. My feet barely hit the ground and I was off waiting for the coffee pot. I haven't got much done yet but, the day is still early and things will get done here. Pluss breakfast is in the oven already it never fails. Well after yesterday I could not hardly stand up when I got home to cook dinner and everything else here. Everything is still a mess and it will stay like that for the next 3 week or so once it all hits me. Now to get into the swing of things around here and still figure out how to get things done. I can laugh later about this. I just have to get use to getting things done with 3 people in the place once again. Anyway now for to start in on alot more around here and go from there I have another busy day ahead of me and I am not likely to sit back down for hours now. Have fun and play hard.

Sitting here alone again

As I sit here alone the Hippy went back out on the road lastnight to PA once again.  Pretty good he gets home scarfs dinner down and leaves.  Well it's not the first weekend that I spent totally alone.  I may go out to bingo tonight I'm not sure yet.  So now that most of the house is off even though it is the weekend I am so use to haveing nothing on during the week may as well today also.  There is nothing that I really need out at the stores at this point in time.  I may go out during the week for bread for the other kitchen that is being ran.  I can walk for that one at least.  I will be makeing fresh bread for the house as normal.  At least I can spoil the can at least.  Around my place the trick is to keep busy and try not to run up any bills in the place.  So I plan and plot on what to do for each day that I am here alone.  Bakeing at least once a week and do a big bakeing session.  That is the fun part for me at least getting the KitchenAid stand mixer going all day long.  And the Hippy doesen't mind it niether when I start cooking and bakeing all day long along with a few others that the both of us know.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder and I will be bakeing for most of the day.

Looking like a long day and night

Well now I know what Ollivers problem is charlie horses.  Poor birdie.  Pluss I knotice that he gets more of the cramps when it starts cooling off and he eats more corn than normal.  And I should have noticed he was about due for one when he kept slideing down the bars in his cage this morning.  So you guessed it I haven't started in on the cookies yet.  So now to start blocking off more rooms also in the can and only heat 2 rooms becuase it has got alot colder since I have got up this morning also.  Maybe it is the wind out side but I highly doubt it.  That's one of the nicer things about my place is that I have to put the dog out also so I notice alot more in the weather patterns.  Tacs and sheets make good in my house to block off the back part of the can to the other.  Pluss I needed to block off the front room anyway becuase I still have a gapeing whole in the cieling where I haven't got the leak yet totally sealed off.  So when it rains water still comes in.  So eather way I still have some work for today left to do and keep an eye out on everyone.  Other than that it has been fairly quiet today becuase the kids went to school across the street today and Daddy got 3 phone calls from the school also.  My my am I the rotten one out of the bunch.  Then the boy behind me got grounded (4 weeks) for life for skipping also.  So eather way it has been quiet out on the streets so far.  So now to go do more things around the place and I will let you folks know what's going down and going up.  Have fun and play even harder.

Today was somewhat fun

Well I called the school district and a few other places today and most told me to go pound salt on a child who skiped school.  The bad part was I was on the phone with the NY State troupers and the dispatch heard the radio thumping and blamed me for it.  I had everything off at 11 am this morning.  So now I know the school system is really lousy up here in Niagara-Wheatfield.  So if and when I start haveing children of my own I will be more than likely Home Schooling them in my household.  Since the School System is so bad up here now that I have seen this it will be for the best in my book.  Now I seen Children from Home Schooling get full scholorships to the Best Collages around and My BROTHER IS ONE OF THEM CHILDREN.  So now with that being said I can manage with alot of things includeing school work.  I would have to with homework anyway.  Anyway I had most of everything off anyway during the day and I do not even own a radio anymore, becuase I listen to the radio off the internet now a days.  It is a nice service that I can get for free for most of the channels that are streeming on line.  Pluss 2 Bass speekers and 4 other speekers I can blast the best out of the neighborhood let me tell you and have done it.  So now with a cooler day tomarrow I will start bakeing of course.  And the child from across the stree skips again I will be on the phone every half hour on the half hour untill they get him and take him to school.  I need to bake for a sweet person who needs the homemade goodies.  Pluss for when my Hippy gets home from over the road work he will have something also.  It is one of the cheaper ways to get cookies.  To make them homemade.  So eather way a quad batch of cookies is in order around here.  Also I have to put the cookie dough on the top shelf of the fridge so they are easier to handle.  So yes I will have thoven going so that will put heat into the can and I will have the space heaters out also since I do not use much power during the day anyway may as well keep the bird warm.  So now To start makeing a list for tomarrow so I know what I am doing and I will be back later on.

Another laundery day

Another laundery day has broke out in the can today.  I have to do a load of darks and blankets already today again.  I diden't realize that King blankets and sheets took up so much room dirty.  And after last night with such a horrad band I better stay home tonight and get some things ready for Tuesday morning.  Well I can say I was very cheap last night in going out.  Even though I lost 20 dollars the drinks were free and so was the band.  Anyway part of my list is to reorganize the bedroom again while I am alone.  Then this way I have room to move and go from there.  And laundery bags are such a nice thing in my household only becuase the laundery is in one place.  I grab a bag and go from there.  Most of it is already sorted out from darks to whites to towles and to socks(I love to bleach out white socks).  Then there are the sheets and blankets on top of it all.  If you can find a place for dirt cheap sheets or get them for free you will be better off for it all.  Alot of my sheets were free some were so cheep it was a total sin for paying for them.  I love the bargin racks anyway but check with the storage units around your area and see when they are cleaning out a unit.  I have got alot of stuff free that way.  Even pillows for the can.  So I can not complain to much about all of it.  I still have a stack of pillows to last for awhile.  I take pillows to the launderymat to wash them every so often and hang them on the line to dry.  Other wise you get lumpy dumpy pillows if you put them in the dryer.  I like line drying the laundery only becuase it cuts the eletric bill dramaticly even with the A/C unit going.  This year I haven't had to run the unit that much only becuase it has been a cool summer.  So I know we are going to get hit with at least 3 big snow storms this winter and it will be very cold.  And one bad thing is I get to shovel snow this year again.  The end of the driveway is the really bad part.  I will have some help though from neighbors.  That is why I cook so much around here more than likely becuase that is how I repay everyone.  So I will start to cook on Monday again and go from there.  I need to bake muffins for the hippy for the road at least one batch to get him thrugh.  And yes the kids will be flocking to my house.  Ok folks have fun today and play even harder.

Big hit yesterday

The cake went faster than I could hollar that I wanted a piece of it.  So the party went off without a hitch and I dident drop the sun tea yesterday niether.  So now today I get to sit around and fill out applications becuase the working from home is not hacking it anymore.  And I will find the balance of work and home once again when I do get a job outside of the can here.  It will be rough untill I get into the swing of things once more of course but it is well worth it.  Just to keep my sanity going.  Now to find out what kind of trouble I can get into other than sitting here on my toush all day.  I may take a walk here shortly to clear everything out of my mind.  I am so thankfull anyway on so much around here that I can see that things need to be done and they won't today.  So the main goal is to see what I can do for today and be somewhat lazy over it.  Ok folks have fun and play hard today.

The cake is in

The cake is in the oven.  It is not bad for the first run on the recipie.  Lets see in how it turns out tonight.  Pluss I will be makeing a chocolate cake also for myself.  One wanted yellow and I wanted chocolate so guess what we both win today.  The pen is still in the base of my pony tail so I can check off the list I have for the moment.  At least I will not loose it this way.  So I will let you know in how much of a hit the yellow cake went over.  Then it had to rain today also.  All I can say is bummer.  At least I will have people over and the Electrition to share the b-day with.  Along with his wifes daughter same b-day as mine.  This could be fun with all 3 of us within 2 days.  Well within the matter of minuts I got the taters and onions done pluss one of the cakes is cooling.  Pluss the trip to Walmart dident hurt as bad as I thought it would.  46.60 for the bill not includeing the .60 that I had in bottle returns(that wasen't all of them).  So 46 dollars later and I have everything for the party tonight and tomarrow.  Like that's a bad thing.  And that is the dollar fifty that I picked up in cans also for today and tomarrow for the beer.  So I guess it isen't as bad as I thought it would be for today.  Going shopping always did scare me in some ways.  The trick is DO NOT TAKE ANYONE WITH YOU.  I found out the hard way with my ex hubby and the hippy now.  Sometimes all I can do is shake my head.  And I still forget stuff at the store.  Then there is always more in the cart also by the time I leave the stores nomatter where I go with someone.  So most of the run was for myself and food for others in the household.  The one bullet of ground meat was on sale today so there are the burgers then of course I had to buy the heat doggies while I was there (hot dogs).  Much cheaper than the chain stores around here for the same thing.  The BarS Hot Dogs are good.  They are cheaper than most but that is ok by me.  instead of 2 for something it is 88 cents for a package of 8 heat doggies.  Pluss they taste better than the name brand stuff out there.  It may be a northern thing not sure as of yet.  So have fun everyone and play harder.

Laughing again

I finally drove the electrition to almost insanaty today.  Well what can I say except he thinks I am way over the line of being totally cheap.  I threatined to take the cans in for the birthday cake.  His wife thought it was down right funny and about fell out of her chair.  Ok so I never clamed to be right in the being down right frugal part of life.  I have to remind him every so often that I can do things cheaper than he can and mean it.  So eather way the cake for the double bday will be made this year of course.  Ok now you will find out that I can bake and like to bake.  I figure why get a cake thats all dry and just plain nasty from the stores up here when I can make it better out of my own kitchen.  The trick is I dont over bake it and who needs toothpicks to tell if it is done when it starts pulling from the sides of the cake pan then it is done.  Anyway at least I havent been bothered to much with the neighbors as of yet so it is all good.  Ok folks have fun I have to run out to Walmart to get a few things so play hard and be safe.
