Thankfull now

I still want to appologize to the poor gairl that the claws came out lastnight on here.  She is still the sweetest girl here that has came over totally and understands in why I have the total problem of switching over.  I gave the poor girl so many huggs today that I am sure she was floored over it all . totlly to say I was sorry.  Now that the poor thing has seen in how it goes here and normally I am not on the net this early PERIOD here still and so forth.  I felt bad and still do since I have been burnt before and the poor girl understands about that part here.  So now here I feel somewhat better that I did apologize in person and said where I go at here on the blog.  Now I hope she reads and takes something out of the blog here that can help her and or her Momma with totally here in what I do for my own place.  Since I am not pushy here at all and I can only say in what I know and works for me also here for my place it works.  It is not for everyone in hanging laundry and having things turned off during the peak hours of the day here nomatter where you are.  It is hard in todays world out there nomatter in what ya do to save money PERIOD.  I just wish that some would get their act togeather here in the country and say hay even the richest people now ain't so rich at this point re now and that includes the Jack wagon in office. 

Thinking again

Well at this point in time here I had most of yesterday to think of what to do for the household.  My Husband was shocked when he walked in with everything unplugged and just the radio was on here for the place.  This is what happends when the weekends there are many lights on here along with other things here in the place.  Also while I was at it all here some will learn that are in the house at this time that it takes very little to keep me happy.  So it was one of the days that my Husband can freak out on totally here and go with it.  Since I did not get to everything yesterday here I will get to it today.  This is totally normal out of myself.  Once I think of it all for the place I can get it alot cheaper without a problem at all from now on.  This means that I will start thinking on what needs to be done here and how much it will cost me to do so from now on.  With that being said here at this time I will be shopping at places that people turn their noses up at all of the time.  I have noticed that when I am out at some of the cheaper stores here some of the older folks are looking at me wierd since I am shopping where the prices are better than the big name stores out in the area.  All I can do is laugh about it here and keep doing what I have to here to keep the household going.  That goes along with not using hardly any power here for the household and to use less of everything that is left in the place.  Also if I have to burn wood here more often to keep the gas bill down along with it I will be doing that here along with other things.  The nice thing about this is that I can keep busy here totally without a problem at all.  With yesterday I was not happy at all since my Husband thinks that it is ok to leave every stinking light on nomatter what time of day it is at this point.  I told him straight out ya gotta turn off things period if you are not going to be in the room with the lights on.  He looked at me and laughed about the comment totally.  So I guess during the week I will have to suffer thru going without here totally.  That is about the only thing that I can do at this point in time here totally to get the bills down here.  So now here I can get this done and will do what I have to do in order to get things where they should be for the place.  Also when I can get the money up for another trip down to PA I will do alot of the shopping down there for the dry bulk of things here for the household while I am at it.  It will all work out for the best by the time I am done for the place.  So let me see in what I can get done for the day here and where I land up totally. 

Well more bills paid

Got another bill paid tonight at least.  It seems all I do is pay bills around here and they all dont stop at all.  And the Taxes on the bills keep going higher also.  Then the government wanders why everyone is moveing out of NY State.  Well all I can really do is be as cheap as possible and collect coupons to go shopping with and go from there.  Yes I am still collecting cans for the kitchen wood burner at least.  Well it is something to look forward to at least around here.  It may take me awhile to get it but well worth it in the end.  So lets see in how many more nickels I can get thru the weeks here.  That is part of the fun every time I go out and how much can I collect for the day eather out on the street or parking lots.  Or at the tomoras at the stores.  Eather way it is free money also.  I have a jar for the nickels that I pick up and it will get full here shortly along with my dime jar.  Maybe when I get both full I will see how far I got for the wood burner.  And no thanks to the state that I am in now.  Now for the short week last week from the drivers I expected the worst.  The other drivers diden't of course.  Since there is the 2 of us in one household/can.  Yes it takes 2 incomes for a place here in NY State its not so bad I still support the can by myself for the most part.  I still get my alone time here.  Eather way the bills get paid here.  Unlike some places that I know of.  I do take the cheap way alot of the times.  It really helps out around here.  Like cuting the dryer sheets in half and cutting down on the laundery deturgant.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Working on the bills

The past several days I have been loafing off and trying to figure out all the bills for the month again.  And also paying them on top of everything.  I diden't get all the bakeing done since the last time I was on here niether.  Well after I did somethings untill my back said no more afterwards.  So the catch up is that some things got done and the place is pretty clean so I did get some sleep also.  And I did get out some yesterday to do some running for the household.  As I pulled out of the bank yesterday morning (on the N.F. bulve.) I seen 2 dogs cross the main road in the cross walk between where I was sitting at and Millitary Rd.  I started laughing becuase they had no owner walking them and both dogs used the cross walk.  It was the funniest thing watching becuase the cars waited for the dogs to get done and up on the sidewalk then went.  Now normally at 9:15 am there's less traffic out anyway and I am guessing that the loose dogs coulden't wait for thier walk of the morning.  Now for today I really need to clean here and I will be doing my 15 min to 30 min clean times then sit for awhile then start again.  I will be doing alot of the streaching of the cleaning supplies also today force of habbit with me for the can.  Small areas and a bucket for the whole house for the most part.  The flour bomb went off on the counter pluss myself yesterday becuase I needed bread for the can.  Since the hippy likes store bought bread I will do it for the truck.  It makes it a bit easier on me instead of makeing 4 loaves a week.  He also got exctied when he seen the muffins in the bag that I packed for him also.  The muffins that I make came right off the http://www.hillbillyhousewife.com/ they are so easy and with the basic recipie that Susanne has on there there's 101 ways of fixing them also.  My big THANK YOU to Susanne.  Now back to the bills of course.  I was reading on the bill from Time Warner which I do pay on line that if the bill is over 45 days late they do charge you a 7.00 dollar fee for everyday that you are late.  Things that the head office will not tell you at all.  They will tell you that from the first day it's the 7 dollars.  Well all I can say is read the bills folks and if the reading is a down side have someone read it to you.  IF at all possible start to budle things to save even more money.  Now with the cable company I have cable internet and the house phone all into one bill.  The phone alone for the plan that they offer is 90 dollars pluss if you are not carefull.  Now I do know with Cricket cell phone service they shut the phone off the day after it's due if you do not pay it by the due date.  That is one reason I went with Cricket for this go around.  Pay the bill on line skip the 5 dollar charge and no contracts at all for them.  Every time if I had any questions about the plan they answered them without a problem at all.  So all I am saying save money when you can.  If some companies will knock off money by paying on line go for it.  I save about 50 dollars a month by going paperless and paying on line.  Just please make sure you have fire walls up for the on line bill paying and a few other steps.  And if a company sends out an email that you know that you DO NOT pay for on line or directly out of your account make a phone call and be sure it is ligit before you give out any info.  With the cable modem I do not pay for the AOL connection at all it is a free service.  There are people out there that fish for account numbers at all times and it never hurts to make the phone call and ask questions about it.  Make phone calls and if at all possible pay the bills on line to save time and money.  It could mean that it's extra grocery, vacation, or shoe moneys for the household.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder today.

I am still bringing the power bill down

I am still trying to bring the power bill down to this day and I am waiting for the cops to show up at my place.  It sounds bad but true around this place and day of age.  A 20 dollar drop pluss in the power bill means the growing season is over for pot plants around here.  Now the cops can stick it since I am the only one here 5 days a week and have everything shut off for the most part in the can.  I do somethings every 3 weeks around here like blankets and other things.  And candels are a nice thing 1-4 days a week around here for light in the mornings when the sun has not rissen enough yet for enough light in the can also.  As I have said before I can deal without the power anyway around here.  The taxes and delivery charges on this bill was 57.62 and the useage was 22.47.  So please tell me what is going on besides NY State is money hungery.  So I will tell you unplugging and turning off things does help during the day and a few other things also.  Ok folks I will be back later on.  So have fun and play even harder.

Laughing at the power company

Ok now I have been doing several things during the day to cut the power bill down for the past several weeks here.  I have unplugged and havent ran hardly anything during the day.  The main problem is the power plant is right down the street here and my power bill is still huge.  My rates were cheaper in Illinois and the taxes are more than the actual bill its self up here in NY State.  Eather way I will be cutting and slashing 5 days a week now around here and will do even more cutting and slashing in the time to come.  It takes some new habbits of course and banging my head a whole lot.  I have been dealing without T.V. for most of the day.  If I go past 7am in the morning it feels wierd to have the computer and T.V. on past that Monday thru Friday now.  And talk about power strips all over the can around here and there's at least 5 of them to turn off here.  Ok it drives everyone just plain nuts around here when they see the appliances unplugged.  The one electritions can not understand of why I do things like that.  I ask him to pay the power bill and he says he doesent live here so he wont(also the man likes to bounce checks and not pay his own bills).  Spend thrift on his part and hanging out with his parents for to long.  His Parents God love them for working thier tails off and giveing thier kids everything and then some.  So I will try to be as cheap as I can and go from there and just try to drive everyone else batty over it so I can live within our means if not less at all possible.  If that means by not running hardly anything so be it now.  And the water bill did fall by 20 dollars this time.  After I raised cain at the water company.  I am useing even less water now than I was for 3 months ago.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Today is Sunday

Now to start thinking of the week again today and start makeing lists all over the place.  Pluss Fotball will be on all day.  So it will be a switch for haveing the can to myself for todays football.  That is a scarry thought in its self now. I will start cooking for the Hippy way before noon today so he will have at least on hot meal befor he leaves out at between noon and 2 pm today.  He is under a hot load for Canada now.  That means I probably won't see him untill at least friday again.  Now I can be as cheap as I want during the week here with just me in the can so I will be cutting alot of things out again with pleasure so I can get alot of the bills down of course. There's alot that I will be doing only becuase of money is really tight at the moment.  For this month I have to untill we all get rolling again.  And since Mondays are a big cleaning day for me around here I will be more than likely cleaning for most of the day.  It takes very little cleaning supplies around here for me to do the job that everyone laughs that I am way to frugal and cheap.  It is the borderline for myself to be like this.  And there is some people who come over and it is like they eat the TP and paper towles and do not care about it.  So I will be streaching my heart out this week becuase I just do not like going broke for anyone else just becuase they all want me to.  I really do not keep up with the Jonses at all with good reasons.  When I am being down right dirt cheap it means that I am saveing up for something and will get it at some point in time.  I realized this on Thursday of last week that at this point I am so sick of the kids in the Park that it is not even funny anymore.  Now I will be doing some unconventual things aslo to cut everything down again and start rereading alot of info while I am on the computer during the night hours.  Then go from there again.  I know there is still alot that I can cut corners on and I will say I am not perfect at all still at the being frugal to down right cheap at all.  I have done alot of work on it of course and I will continue to work at it all still.  What I do is try to cut the money robbers first then takle the rest in due time.  And theres alot that I do while I am at the big money bills that cut the pay in half.  In what I do may not work for everyone at all.  That is why I say do what you feel is right for you.  If it doesen't feel right then do not do it.  Some things you have to get use to like cutting the paper plates out of the house.  I think they are a waste of money myself since you have to do the dishes anyway eather way you look at it. Yes I have cut that out of the grocery budget all togeather.  Now I know some children are very clutsy my nefew was that way no matter what we all did.  So we broke out the plastic wear for his plate to stop the shards of glass from the dinner table.  Once he got old enough to have glass wear again it was all good after that.  I can still laugh about it today and he is 20 this year.  I will say this even that it was hard to break from some bad habbits on wasteing money and not so hard in other areas also.  Now it is still hard sometimes becuase I do get lazy every so offten that I just don't want to cut the dryer sheets in half and they get ignored untill I have to do it.  Ok folks have a good day and play even harder.

A good day at home

IT was a very quiet day here at the can.  The kids are officially back to school and nobody else was here with me today.  I have had all of the power strips off and other things off also today.  So it wont hurt me to deal without a phone all day.  I will keep the modem going for the phone tonight of course.  I cleaned for part of the day today and I got alot done.  Theres alot more that needs to be done of course but that is what deep cleaning is all about also.  At least the dishes are done for the night and I will have some to do for tomarrow night but there is only me here in the place.  So eather way I did win the battle today and got alot done and cheaply.  Just do not wanna see the power company over the next few months at all becuase I have everything practicly off in the can.  Now I will keep up the everything off mode for awhile and go with it.  Tomarrow is a somewhat laundery day I wll start to fold everything of course, then vacume the rugs, then dust and that is it for tomarrow for the house work.  I do not want to do everything in one day then have a totally borring week.  There is a reason to my madness of course.  Keep busy for the week and it will fly by me as normal.  So eather way at least I am trying to drop the power bill down even further than what it is now.  I am hopeing for an 80 dollar bill here soon but you never know around here with all the taxes added on.  On my May bill it was 73.96 in taxes and delivery sirvice then the regular bill was 31.35 now you tell me what is wrong with the picture.  So lets see how far I can get it down here.  So I can do the happy dance.  The Hippy is doing ok and heading towards Ohio now. So I will not see him tonight. Now the fun begins on that again.   Ok folks have fun and play harder.

Working the bills

I am trying to figure bills for next month already.  I am hopeing to have the eletric bill down pretty good by the end of next month.  The other bills are going to run about normal with the budget plan.  Well what else can I say about it.  The ones I can controle are the water bill and the power.  So I will be haveing most of everything off as of Tuesday and go from there.  Pluss i will start useing candles again and I will watch the bird about it just in case.  Just so I can save some on the power bill of course during the day.  I just can not see the need for haveing lights burning when it is only myself in the can.  That is me.  Not only that I could go without power anyway if it was just myself.  It is one of them things that I wouldent mind doing without.  Once I can get enough for a house and solar pannels I will be doing good.  Of course it goes along with the batteries for the solar pannels.  Pluss a wood burning kitchen stove for heat.  I would be all set.  I can cook on the wood burning stove also.  Even though it has been awhile.  There's alot that I can still do with very little.  I am just minding time for it all at this point in time untill Tuesday.  And the fun will start at about 6 am for being furgal and even more cheap than I can possibly imagan for.  I will give it a trial run to see what is comfertable for me and go with it.  I will have leftovers also here for Tuesday also so there is food that is cooked at least for the first night of being alone.  So all in all it won't be to bad of a deal.  Not by my eyes anyway.  I will let you know on Tuesday when I start all of it in how it goes from there undtill then I will be around all day tomarrow.  I am still makeing a list so I can have a check list to go by in what I have done.  And I will get a list up of the basic needs in the house also here shortly that I always have on hand no matter what in the place.  If I can help someone out in that way I will do it in a heartbeat.  So I will get going here so I can start in on that.  Have fun and play harder.

Something I hardly do

I just did something I hardly ever ever do anymore.  I just paid a bill over at the grocery store.  Yes I paid a service charge also.  Now normally I pay bills on line or go to the office to pay them when ever possible.  And I need to start paying bills on time also starting next month.  I will have enough and then some for next month to start that.  I just do not like paying the charge for the convienance of paying at the grocery store at all.  Another is becuase I don't go into the store that I went to today.  The sales ads are not that great for groceries and other things.  And thier meat counter is out of this world with being way over priced.  Now with myself walking more in the coming weeks I will be able to do more at other stores.  Walmart is one of my favorite places and Wegmans is right across the street from there I shoulden't have a problem.  Walmart I can see from my kitchen window.  There is another great store named Ollies down the street with in walking distance also.  Ollies is like a Big Lots and the Dollar Stores combined but messier.  They have a card for you spend so much in the store and you get a coupon for a persentage off the next bill that you are there.  I can get alot of stuff way cheaper in there than even Walmarts prices.  On top of everything it is right on top of the bus lines.  So even better on my part.  So there are ways to get around without a car at all times.  I can laugh about it now in how many times I have walked somewhere and it hasent bothered me at all.  When I had my Honda it was down more than up for the longest time and I walked every place on this end of town.  And I will begin that again here next week also.  I will start dropping pounds also.  So 2 birds with one stone in my book.  Another good thing about walking in the Winter months is that Any parishable foods will not spoil on the walk back.  In the summer months when I was walking everywhere I would go out very early in the morning and get stuff.  It takes me the same amount of time to get to the store walking as it does to drive it.  With all the traffic between the Mall,Wegmans,Tops,Walmart, and a few other stores in the area.  So I will never be board around here.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Did well today

Got out of Walmart for under 7 dollars today.  I love the back to school sales that go on before school.  I needed paper and pens for the can so I can do what I have to do to make the house lists and a few other things.  Pluss I ended over at the Reservation also.  Saveing money all over the place today.  Now in the next couple of days I will start with the big saveings on the power bill.  The count down has begun in this house.  The best part is I can really do this around here again.  Also I have laundery hanging outside again.  I will not stop that till the snow flies around here.  Then in April I will start that again.  Eather way I win on that so I will not complain about it.  The first day that I am alone I will be cleaning and reorganizeing what I have just did last week.  And there are so many things that I will do also while I am at it again.  The hard part is cooking for just me again instead of 2 people.  Well I get to run 2 kitchens again that is one down side of everything of course.  In the up side I can leave most of the stuff off in the can.  I can always keep busy of course and I am never board around here.  And I get to clean without someone being underfoot except the puppy of course.  The funny thing is that Ann makes me take a break in what I am doing for the day.  Alittle planning on my part and I should be ok in what to do and when I feel like doing it on my own time.  Another up side is the bathroom will stay clean at all times with only me here again.  I just worry about the laundery bomb going off in the hallway and socks I can wistle for and they come and jump in the washer.  Thank goodness for auto soak on the washer that may help this time around.  At least for the smell of them.  Extra bleach is calling me I know it is.  Now that I am giggleing about it.  Well on top of it I have several CB's that some people could use since they are going back to the 18 whealer again.  Ok folks have fun and play hard.

What a day so far

Ok I never said I was lazy at all.  I had to run for the hippy thank goodness he got the job today.  So now he is off to the DMV to get the enhanced license.  Now I have to pretty much break my toush to get the hippy's laundery ready including bedding for the truck.  Pluss there is food for the truck also.  Well he can take the rest of the gallon of milk that is in the fridge and I will make the powdered milk for the house.  Well I will say this With everyone out of the house and not here my bills will go down in alot of ways.  And I can have everything off during the day all togeather.  Which means the modem is off along with the computer the T.V. is off during the day and all of the lights.  And what I mean by off is even the power strip is turned off.  So the power bill just may make it under 80 from now on while I am here alone without anyone here.  I will have candles going of course.  And ahhhhhhhhhhh no SYFY channel going unless it is for Wensday nights.  So there is a pluss side to everything around here.  Cooking for just one person is hard to do.  That is why I like the hippy here with me all of the time.  I start cooking then theres just enough for leftovers the next day for lunch.  Now to figure out in what to do besides re organize the place with everyone not in my hair again.  Then to go and make a dish and have enough left overs for the next 4 days.  So now the real frugal will break out in me.  Now let the fun begin with this and I will make it work this time whithout someone here.  I will let you know the results on it all.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

never board around here

Well I can say that I am never board here in the can.  I am just very tired at this point trying to find a job.  And the hardest part is the wait for the interview in my book.  So I have started to make a list for things to be even cheaper on.  Now to just get alot of things done on the list of course.  So now it will be the just doing part and sticking to my guns for the what to do list.  Now that will be the hard part of everything and getting others to agree on stuff for the house.  So eather way people are not gonna like me at all around here.  So I will realy start for the free stuff hunt on the net to see what I can come up with and lower all the bills around here also while I am at it all.  It will go hand in hand for a very long time of course.  Or at least untill the new habbits set in around here.  So it looks good with alot of stuff but you never know what to expect on any given day.  So I will start everything out as not spending hardly anymore for the house unless I really have to.  Then go from there also.  At least I am stocked up on alot of stuff for the can.  So eather way I will have to run a tighter ship with alot of things around here for the bills going out again.  I will get the bills down eather way even if it all kills me in the long run around here.  So eather way I will let you know how it goes and what I have done to cut the bills down.  Have fun and play hard.

With the windows open

I have the fresh air coming into the place now with the windows open.  No fans no A/C going this is a nice thing.  I am saveing money here without the air going.  It has been an up hill battle for my house hold anyway to get the bills down.  I am still working on cutting the power bill down.  It is hard with all of the taxes taged up with the bill.  The taxes are more than the bill its self here in NY State.  Well now to just get everything off and not to use it at all for somethings.  So now to figure in what else to turn off and unplug.  For the gas bill thats not to bad.  I am on the budget plan for that and at this point I think they owe me money again.  And just maybe I can go without paying that one in January becuase I did over pay for that bill.  And another laundery day is coming up.  I will wait till at least thursday when there is a good day without the threat of rain.  So I will take a look around the place and see what else I can do to start saveing more money and slashing bills again.  SO anyway tonight I am not sure on what to have for dinner I may just have another pasta night again.  Who knows with me or it could be meatloaf.  I am running somewhat low on somethings around here so lets see where tonight takes me.  And lets see how far I get in the house today with everything that I really need to do.  I would like to bake but thats not going to happen today.  It depends on how I feel later on today.  Ok folks play hard for now and I will be back.
