As I sit here thinking of dinner hopeing that the power boxes do not go once again. Pasta is one of the cheaper ways to keep folks happy in my house. There's always ways to cook cheap off the budget. Never fails it seems like the power bills go up off the charts when the summer months come so we all have to cut some how some way to make the budget work. I started to cook with nothing at 14 and ran with it all. So when I hit the local supermarket near myself i automaticly hit the bargan rack and the sale meats. Oh by the way when I first moved up to NY I was working out of a 32 quart cooler to keep everything cold. I have came along way in about 14 yrs of being here. And thats another story in it self of how i filled a place full of stuff. Most of the time when I am trying to figure out the dinner menu for my place I look in the freezers to see what i have. Then i start with the meal planner/calander to wright everything down. It does get somewhat tricky in the middle of the month as normal since I do once a month shopping most months. The
www.hillbillyhousewife.com helped alot when I wanted to go slashing my grocery budget again. Well I fell back into coupons and shopping sales again pluss a few other things. Chips in my house are a big deal when i buy them once every couple of months or so soda what is that also. I collect cans out from my yard and on the trail when i do walk up to the stores. Ny state loves to have thier nickle deposits. So yes there are ways to cut the budget for the groceries and dont be picky niether on where you shop. I have been known more than once to shop at the dollar stores to make the dishes of a meal also includeing other things. Once you see who has the better deals off the sale adds and match coupons it works out well. Ok off to find more free stuff, coupons, and recipies to save the food that is all left as normal.
