Learning something new here

I have came to realize after thinking on this for the past 3 weeks that I have made the right call on things.  Now I will be testing new things and seeing in how they work for me and the can.  Then I will start to let you all know how it faired out with myself.  I have been trying to catch up on my reading of course and the house work is almost finnished as normal.  There will always be the loads of laundery to do in a household no matter what you do and dishes also.  Since I refuse to get paper plates and have to do dishes anyway may as well go full boar on that.  You will see a new person imerge around these parts also.  So now to get more reading done and start out on the new cheapness from myself.  Have fun folks and play even harder.

Pretty funny yesterday

Well I got thru most of the can yesterday and paid the Lot Rent.  And while I was keeping busy here in the can I got to thinking about some things.  I had to voice a feeling to someone and the person said she woulden't doubt it one bit that I was right.  Now since I have started againg to streach everything out here in the can even more than normal I have became more relaxed.  Since I do not eat much while I am alone the food bill has went down.  On top of it I had someone tell me that I was the quiet one on this end of the park and unless something major was going down that is the only time she did hear out of me.  Or to pay the rent.  The park management also noticed what I was seeing also.  I have finally came to the place in my life that some Suppossad Rich people have worse problems than I do in life.  Or they have lied about what they have in the bank and are very broke people.  I have started trying to live as cheap or frugal as I possibly can in the past almost 15 years that I have been up here.  Pluss I have been cooking from scratch more also.  I can have a meal for 4 on the table pluss leftovers for about 8 dollars a night if not less.  With the rise of everything I do sit back and think of where else I can cut also in the household budget.  I have quit drinking also for the most part after I left the chat room life.  It doesen't mean I can't sit down in my own can and drink beer niether or have a couple of other things also.  So eather way I can say I do stay home alot in some ways.  And enjoy a walk here and there so I can pick up cans for my wood burner stove also.  You would be suprized in how many nickles people have thrown out.  It is almost sick to think of it now.  There are times when I have picked up 5 dollars or more on my walks that I take to clear my mind.  Some folks will just try to cut me down for what I am doing and trying to do.  Or they woulden't be caught shopping in some of the stores I go into.  When people start chastizeing me I let it roll off of me.  As I have said before I refuse to keep up with the rat race of life.  I enjoy trying to streach out the dollar and what I have here.  I am very thankfull for the things I do have also.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Today is a good day

I paied the lot rent today.  And it was all cool at the office when I wlaked in.  Some of us have common grounds here in the trailer park.  I t was nice and I saved more money today also.  I really need to be stricter on myself on the what time to get on the computer but can't help the rush addict that i am over the radio.  Now all rush needs is to be cheap like the rest of us and go from there.  Now that I confessed my gut thought to someone she confirmed that I was the right one and I confermed what sh had totally thought on The  "Doc" Howards chat room.  Hypothisis now what can you say to me.  I was wright on the gut feeling.  I got out long enough to pay the lot rent since to some I am trailer trash and no skin off my nose nor toush.  The rent is 345 and a morgage payment to some folks out there today.  Gee shootings or stupid children on the neighborhood I think of breaking knee caps for stupidity more than digging another bullit out of my flesh once again.  And the management looked my way for the boy skipping school as normal.  i asked her to get checked for head lice knowing of why and how.  Karoseen and a match anyone.  Or gas for that matter.  As the management for the park the woman admitted I was calm and colective on the matter in the cards that was delt.  Yes I could make life Hell for anyone but why bother in the long run.  So I will keep to myself and go from there.  I have learned over the years that "Doc" is a user and abuser in real life.  Some men like Thick women some like skinny women so on and so forth.  I am ok with myself and men pay mind to what i know in life and love a great cook also.  I cook on the cheap and from scratch and like it like that.  So now I will do as I please and go cheaper if people like it or not.  I will keep you all posted on the cheap thoughts and just plain cheapness.  Have fun and play even harder.

Getting way to much done

I did get way to much done yesterday.  I diden't get to the deep cleaning part of the can yesterday but, i got most of the kitchen cleaned and picked up.  Now to just do more here in the place today after I pay another bill.  Funny in how the first 10 days of the month you are scrambbling to pay all the bills and you can sit back for the rest of the month almost except the few stray bills.  Anyway at least there are dollar stores out there to help out on keeping most of the costs down on food and other products also.  Pluss it got me out for a bit longer from the can.  Now with the Dollar Tree they are a great place to go.  You can order a case of something and have it shipped to the store pay and see you at the next go around.  There is an up side to everything.  Ok so alot of it is a smaller size.  At the end of the month it is a good thing becuase maybe you needed a bit of something to take you into the beginning of the month.  Some dollar stores have the bigger sizes also it depends on where you go.  Pluss if you hit the dollar stores you never know what they might have at anygiven time.  Things you woulden't expect to be there is there.  Like coffee pots.  I will admit they do not have a timer nor a clock on them at all.  In my place we are so hard on coffee pots that for 5 to 10 dollars for about a year it is well worth it.  The impoertant thing is to look around and keep a note on what costs what and where.  Sometimes Walmart has the better deal sometimes the dollar stores have the better deal.  It just depends on where you are at and how much time you have also.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Have to admit

I have to admit I do read other blogs and have for some time now.  One of the ones that I read the poor Woman went thru what I have with power outages and phone troubles like i have and did.  Now as some know I am saveing up for a wood burning Kitchen stove.  It may be a nickle at a time but well worth it untill I get out of where I am at now.  I will say it is well worth the wait and the one blog that I read all of the time proves my point of the power going out all of the time.  You never know when the power is gonna be on or just plain out.  And since we are expecting a very hard winter this year I am happy that I did go with a gas range this time.  A match and you have at least burners to cook on.  Pluss some heat for the place.  I remember growing up for a time out in Collinsville the place that I was at on the line between there and Maryville the power would go out and almost everyone had a fire place in the house.  Or i would get sent down/up the street to my cousins place for heat and to sleep at if more than 24 hrs of a power outage.  The good old days of family takeing care of family.  It still brings a smile to my face of being with loved ones and sleeping on the floor for heat and food.  So now I feel the same for several childeren in the park eather way.  I will protect them eather way becuase they are good kids.  As I told some one today advice is free as long as you get at least 4 opinions and mush them all togeather and you have your answer.  It is so true now.  I still turn to the elders for advice and run with it.  And alot have told me save girl save.  And it doesent matter in how you do it as long as you try.  If you save 3 dollars or even a penny it is something.  And 3 dollars is a meal for at least 2 if not more in todays world.  If you really wanna go ultra cheap.  I have done it and still do.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

Another day of way to early

I woke up way to early to get the Hippy off to work.  So the bad morning turned out to be good so far even though I have to call the cell phone company to let them know about the new card............Grrrrrrrrr.   So eather way I will call them here today or tomarrow.  And I am feeling even better than this past week since I have been thrown out of the chat room and cut down past the ankles.  I am just happy to be out of the muck and the back stabbers.  I have also took a good hard look at what the bills needed to be cut on of course and a few other things in life.  So I have found a new way to cut and slash without some millionaire to cut me down at all times.  I also look at his loss with reality and who makes the world go around without a doctor and an actor in the world and a Real Estate agent without his licence in the state of Florda.  That is the good ole Doc "Buddy" Howard for you.  And some people have enough money to pay the feds and the state off if you realize it or not.  It has been going on for years and years to come.  Some of us just choose to be clean on alot of things and get screwed anyway.  So I will keep to my cheap and some can go to someplace else other than here in my life.  Sitting back and really thinking over the past week and being cheap I have came to realize that rich people are totally mean and obnoxious in life and they eather forget what made them rich or forgot thier true broke roots in life.  Now I really do not have to pinch the pennies that hard now in life.  But one gets so use to pinching saveing and everything else that it doesent matter what was learned in life before or after a child with yourself.  In todays ecconomey guess what more people are broke than rich.  As long as people are struggleing on what to do there are always store brands and dollar stores in almost every city in every state.  Even when I went to my aunt and uncle's place in PA there is a Dollar General in the town as small as it is.  My one cousin and I had a ball in the place becuase we needed stuff cheap and affordable to our taste.  It was the Cool of Cool let me tell you.  It still brings a smile to my face becuase the unbrella strolers of today are much shorter than when my nefew was a baby back in the day.  Fresh clean air and takeing a walk also.  Now the baby is in a 4t which wouldent surprize me none at all after the way she ate.  And I was lucky to think ahead on it and how fast little ones grow now a days.  Now going to my aunt and uncles place made me realize that I diden't need the chat room in the first place and the drama of all of it.  Now the person who tried to warn me again is now gone thanks to her daughters hand for money reasons and drugs.  That was the part of the depressed moad I was in last week.  When someone is younger than my oldest sister and is gone now over stupidity reasons.  All I can say is be an angel to someone and everyone becuase you never know of when and how and what age you will go at.  I am a total saint till I get stabed in the back one to many times.  Then people realize wait a minute here She will give me the shirt off her back along with her last dollar also.  That is what one of the sundance nominies have had to live with in the past week or so now.  I do not care in how rich or broke you are in life as long as you are good eather way and treat others right then you have nothing to worry about.  Oh well have fun and play even harder.

I have learned something new

Now for one chat room I have helped him along for 2 years now if not longer.  The millionares lodges/lounges.  I have got not even a thank you but of spite cut down thru the 2 years.  I have been thru many of problems includeing other folks in the past 2 years or so.  Broken bones family problems and such.  The owner of this room figures if you are broke then you are not worth a dang in real life.  The supposad man found this out the hard way with me.  Along with a few of his rats out of the room.  I am makeing it in the world with less money he brings in a month via acting, being a doctor, and real estate.  I sit pretty when the market is up and when it goes down I am not worth a penny at times.  I have always lived by what I thought was best of life eather way.  When times are good they are good.  This is why I am carefull of money so during the lean times I can still pay the bills and eat in life.  I will say some of the people who have money never seen the broke side of life and what we all do.  When cable is a luxury that we need now a days to watch T.V. in our homes.  I make room in my budget for cable becuase of the package that i couldent pass up becuase with the net and phone included.  Not saying that I watch T.V. all day at all now.  Alot of times things are turned off in my place that people woulden't expect at all.  Like the modem for the phone and internet both T.V.'s and alot of other things.  Some people will chastize me for it and that is ok by my standards.  If I wanted to keep up with the rich I would have.  This is why I clip coupons, shop for the best rates out there and a few other things.  Like I have stoped going out to eat for one.  I would rather have a home cooked meal than go out and blow 20 dollars for dinner some place if not more.  I have shook my head at alot of people lately on who spend to much for everything in thier place.  Some ask me how I do it on very little money in my place/can.    Others wander in how I do things also.  So I sent them tidbits of what to do in thier place and that is all I can do.  I cook alot from scratch in my place now days.  That is one way to save money.  Another is turn off things also while you are at it.  Get the Children involved also.  Ask thier opinion on how much you bring in thru the month.  They want the responabillity in thier own way also.  When you are paying bills say come on I need help and what are your thoughts on it also.  Alot of parents have forgot about this part of life.  I had an e-mail sent to me this past week and now I am realizeing that the kids have it way to good now days.  Some children need to know what is going on and given the option on things.  There were 7 of us kids 2 differant moms and dads in the same bunch.  God love my momma let me tell ya now.  My Momma would tell me all the time I am not gonna be around forever so ya may wanna learn this now.  So that was my cue to shut up and learn on things.  My Mother who raised me was from the depression era.  So you learned quick and asked questions if you diden't understand.   Most parents and grand parents Pluss if you are lucky Great Grand parents would answer your questions.  Relateing to the you need to learn this.  So now I know what to do and if not I still ask.  And ask for several opinions not just one in life.  I have to laugh sometimes Becuase my momma knows when I need just plain advice on things.  Ok folks with this thought have fun and play even harder.

I must admit I am the worst

Well I went to the bank today nice that the branch is open on sundays.  Got at least one pay check in the bank today.  Then off to the other side of the grocery store to get the paper.  Coupons and sale ads are a great thing.  Normally I pick 2 papers up today was just one.  Well some is buy one get one free with the coupons.  Gotta keep the dog and cat happy around here.  Olliver is being himself a pretty bird.  Now to wing everyone off of the Paula Dean show.  Football season has hit my house.  Pretty much I stay home for the football now on sundays.  Oh well at least it's never boring around my place to say the least now.  Now to start in on the fried chicken that I was suppose to cook lastnight.  Regular pasta gets old after a bit.  What the heck so does rice.  At least it is food during the week with me here by myself of course.  And the more I am home alone during the past weeks I started to cook even cheaper.  Why shoulden't I anyway.  Pluss there is fresh baked bread here in the can also.  I baked on Friday at least.  Not as much as I wanted to but it was a start.  Next is to start makeing biscuts from scratch again.  It works great if people have food alergies.  And I noticed that I feel better when I cook from scratch also.  Well yes it takes longer in the prep time of course also well worth the time and effort to cook better for the family.  My grocery bill has went down literally becuase of it now.  I can spend 100 dollars at the store and get the same results as the boxed foods that are there.  Some months are more of course I won't deny that.  I keep a good invatory of the stuff that I do have.  Some months I spend maybe 50 dollars when I start running out of everything then it is more of course.  I have a list for things to do here in the can and a grocery list also.  When I notice that I am low I wright it down.  Now normally I go shopping once a month except if I run low on regular milk I will pick up a half a gallon when I go out to do other things for the household.  Now alot of times when I don't feel like going out and I dont have regular milk in the place I will use the powdered milk for bakeing.  It seems like the baked goods last longer with the powdered milk.  Also there are some recipies that call for powdered milk that I use also.  I do not mind niether does the household.  Some people that come over are amazed that I used the powdered milk for something.  And a BIG THANK YOU  to Sussane at the http://www.hilbillyhousewife.com/ for alot of recipies.  Sussane's are a good base for my house and I do doctor them up of course.  Any good cook should do that.  You may want extra of something in it go for it.  Onions and Garlic are a big thing in my place.  If I run out of onions I better run for the hills and take cover.  I can laugh about it only becuase it is a thing in my household.  Those 2 things are a big staple in my can.  Along with the flour.  I feel naked without at least 2 bags of flour in the place.  Granted I go to Aldi or Save A Lot for the flour.  They have the best deals going on it.  And sugar is going on sale as of now for the holidays.  So I will start stocking up on that also while I am at it.  The big laugh is with some of us if I run out of flour and sugar I go thru a major fit.  I can go thru alot during the holidays becuase of pies and cookies pluss bread.  It looks like the flour bomb went off on me.  I go thru alot of honey also.  I pick up the 5- 10 pound jars of the good stuff.  I use it for tea, bread, and pies.  Even for coffee if im suffering from a cold.  And the honey jars make good piggy banks for other things.  I keep my stove fund in a honey jar.  Just like when you empty out a Jack Danniles bottle use it for dimes.  It means something if you are saveing for it.  And you can brag that I saved up for something out of this and this.  When I was waitressing I loved the change that people would leave me.  It ment a payment on something or a trip over to Target for something nice.  The change ads up along with other things that you do.  Now this year I am going way cheap of course for the holidays.  I was asked what I wanted and said a samwich maker.  Now being here alone I eat alot of soups and leftovers.  A hot cheese sandwich is alot to me.  So does the George Forman Grill that I have.  I have the small one and a family sized one.  You would be amazed in what you can do with the both of them.  So go cheap one night for dinner it won't hurt anyone I promise on it.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder.

The saveings never stop around here

I went to the Reservation yesterday.  Got the new card over at Somkin Joes and saved 3 dollars.  One of the bad habbits that I have left is smoking.  And I need to quit that part of the nasty thing that I picked up from when I was 16.  Well the Hippy was funny in line becuase I like the cheaper Cigaettes anyway.  On a rare blue moon I will pick up a couple of packs of the name brand.  Pluss it gets me out of the house to go shopping sometimes becuase there is only the fed. tax and no bottle deposit if you shop at thier grocery store.  Like anywhere you have to watch the prices of course.  I remember when thier bread was 50 cents a loaf till the government jacked the prices along with oil companies on the gas.  This is why I started walking again to the stores.  Alot of the older folks love to see someone young with a wheely bag.  It's the bags with the wheels under it and not the wire ones niether.  I can fit so much into one bag that I like them.  They can range from a dollar to 10 dollars depending on how big or fancy you want the bag and where you go to also.  I got one at the Super Flea up here in NY state for 1dollar.  The Super Flea is also a famers market.  There are some of us that kinda hang out togeather that never realized that the other pinched pennies like we all do.  Well between all of us pinching as hard as we can we laugh at eachother becuase we traid in how we all do things.  There are some things I just will not do to be cheap/frugal.  I refuse to have a bucket near the cammode for that time of the month with homemade things.  Something just doesen't seem right about that at all to me.  Maybe becuase of what I have been told from Doctors about that.  And it is easier to grab the gargage can out of the bathroom and go from there almost everyday.  Depending on how many people are liveing there in your place.  Sometimes I do remember the take along bags sometimes I don't.  So I get the bags for like the cat litter and the small garbage cans around the can here.  So it works out eather way.  Now since the holidays are coming up here I will be walking alot more to the stores even though it will be colder than snot out.  It takes less time for me to walk to the stores than it takes me to get out of the front drive way of the park here.  Mall is one way and several stores also around.  Pluss I already have the Turkey for the hollidays anyway.  It is mainly the light stuff that I need to get at the stores now.  After Black Friday gets here I will be leaveing here at about 8 am to go out to the further places to get stuff done.  And forget the weekends there after becuase the mall is packed and to much traffic.  The "Locals" know about the entrance at 3rd Ave.  Which is the main road to get out of here.  Little tricks of the traid from being here almost 15 years.  Ok folks have fun and play even harder today.  I have house work to do.

Doing some reading here

Now I have lots of frugal sites that I do hit up to see if I did miss anything to try again.  Or just plain out missed anything.  I will tell you straight out that not everything works for everyone at all.  I have took 50 sites and did a combination on the 50 sties for my place that I have read and went thru over the years.  I diden't even own a computer untill my First knee surgery.  So a huge thanks to the man who said have fun and it will give you enough time to waddle and come back to the monster(duck tape, sticks and glue).  So I could have something to do while sitting idle for 8 weeks and longer if the quack doctor had his way.  Now after that I started looking for free stuff and coupons and other areas to try to save money after going down to One income again.  Thank goodness for friends and others looking in on me and helping out at the time.  After I got back up and could move again some of us made calls to the local stores here near by and asked for some things about ready to expire and if they needed a write off on some things to feed the household and with Big Corperations with products that were fine but been crushed in the shipment if they could call me to come pick it up instead of throwing it in the dumpster.  You would be amazed in what the stores will do to pruducts that they can not sell on the market.  Needless to say I diden't pay for laundery deturgant and fabric softener for at least 2 years nor shampoo and conditioner.  Over the years you figure out what works for your own household also and what to cut back on.  Like chips, soda, and candy are treats in my place.  Microwave meals mean leftovers also.  Like today since I have pasta and sauce already from last night I will fry some chicken up as an extra side and there's dinner and lunch.  If anyone came out of St. Louis or Collinsville you know the sauce already that I have made.  And that recipie is not leaveing my side at all.  Some of the things that went on that I have done some people would be shocked at.  They worked for me at least and would do it all over once again.  All the laughs that have came out from it now and good memories of course.  I will admit that there has been alot of yard sale hopping and saying to myself what the heck did I get myself into.  Also now I still pick up cans for the nickles and have a new fund going for a wood burning kitchen stove.  Some folks that I know just shake thier heads at me still becuase I haven't lost the nack of being frugal/cheap after all these years.  Yes I still shop at Aldi, Save A Lot, Walmart, and the dollar stores by habbits of my own.  Alot of things are good that are the off brands if not better than the name brand stuff.  And the trick is with children in the household is save a box of name brand and stick the cheap stuff in the box after the other is gone.  I have done it also.  Most times with food alergies you have no choice in the matter but to cook from scratch.  Like bread for an example I can make it without the dairy and glutan.  It comes out heavy if you are not carefull about it.  I let it rise 3 times and kneed it 2 times after the mixer if not more.  And fresh bread smells so much better when it is bakeing.  Now my Hippy just shakes his head at me at times becuase he gets better food after 15 years of being togeather with me than when him and the ex wife was togeather.  So find out what works best for you and there will always be some bucking of course untill everyone gets use to something.  Have fun and play even harder.
